Site Administrator Myr Posted October 8, 2004 Site Administrator Posted October 8, 2004 It's time to have a contest. the rules are simple. A Halloween story. Somewhere from 1000-10,000 words. It's due 12 noon EST on October 31, 2004. The story can be scary or funny, but it must contain gay guy(s) and something to do with Halloween. You can use fanfiction, if that's your bent. You can use original stuff. Whatever floats your boat. Post your story in the Library subforum, Writing Contest Entries. We'll post a poll for the entries and vote, once they are all in.
Crackerwriter Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 I hate Halloween. I hate the legalised mugging of Trick or Treaters. I wonder if I can un-hate it long enogh to write a story? Just as long as no one comes knocking at the door.....................
Site Administrator Myr Posted October 15, 2004 Author Site Administrator Posted October 15, 2004 I've been hearing from some folks who say they are going to post. I hope to have some time this weekend to write We'll see. I've got lots on my agenda for the site.
BillM Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 Watching Trigun and working on the story for this contest are on my agenda tonight. Mine's called 'Chainsaw Love' (don't worry, it's not as messed up as it sounds)
Bill W Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 I have entered a short story for the Halloween contest. It's titled, 'From Beyond the Grave' and I hope you all enjoy it. Bill
Crackerwriter Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 I take it this story of yours is a cut above the rest -{BM}-?

Crackerwriter Posted October 30, 2004 Posted October 30, 2004 Well I'm struggling, but as they used to say in 'Stingray', anything can happen in the next 24hrs! At least I've had half an idea.
Sparhawk Posted October 30, 2004 Posted October 30, 2004 Oh no!!!!! Competition!!!!! Get with it cracker, I am looking forward to reading your story.

BillM Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 Lol! I'm gonna post my story sometime tonight :2hands:
Crackerwriter Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 I got up early this morning, (05:30), to make sure I got it finished in time, then realised the clocks had gone back an hour as my computer reminded me on boot-up. So, ok it was only 04:30. At least I've finished and posted it! Well I did only start it Friday night, with a vague idea of what I was going to write! So Mr Sparhawk, you got your wish. Maybe now I'll go back to bed whilst everyone gets up to read it! (LOL - some hope!)

Site Administrator Myr Posted October 31, 2004 Author Site Administrator Posted October 31, 2004 Unfortunately, I was unable to complete my entry on time, as some other work took over. (And I was unsuccessful in shaking a rather annoying writer's block) I do have some stuff moving along for release with the Winter Anthology.
Crackerwriter Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 There's dissent in the ranks! The PMs are flying between authors! We're waiting with bated breath. It's like waiting for the end of the world. Where's the poll?
Crackerwriter Posted November 1, 2004 Posted November 1, 2004 Hey do we cry "fowl" on dk for chickening out and putting up a late entry?
