An unfinished rough draft of a fantasized summer vacation when I was 13.

This song was in my head nearly complete when I woke up from a dream very similar to the song. I could see the scenes of the song, had most of the lyrics already written in my head, and the music was complete with high-energy fiddle, banjo, and guitar for a classic country-western sound.

Set in a world of humans and furries, with mutual distrust on both sides, a boy must overcome prejudice and fear and come to terms with who he is.

The garden house, the reflecting pool, and his memories are a boy's only companions as he wonders about the strangers in his mother's garden.

I have no idea where this poem came from; it popped into my head in sentence fragments and discontiguous scenes and then everything connected together all at once. Mature for depression/suicide theme.
