Prompts Writing Prompts #300 & #301
Who's ready for the weekend to get here? To help you start it out on the right foot, we're bringing you two new prompts from the prompt guru, Comicfan. If you're interested in checking out some of the older prompts that Comicfan has supplied, you can check them out and share your responses in the Prompt Forum! Hopefully one of this weeks prompts will inspire you!
Prompt 300 – Creative
Tag – The Ring
You were shopping in mall and came across a little jewelry store. Considering you were there with friends you figured you would wander around even though you had no desire to buy anything. As you were walking down the counter the merchant spotted you and motioned you over to show you something. When you got near he immediately pointed out a ring, saying it would be “perfect for you.” The thing is when you seen it for some reason you really wanted it. What made the ring so “perfect?”
Prompt 301 – Creative
Tag – List of Words
Use the following in a story – roses, romantic dinner, an earring, a teddy bear, and a skunk.
We only had a couple of takers on the prompts for last week. Both of them were on Prompt #299. This week, I decided to feature Joann414's response. Enjoy!
Knight in Lingerie
"I'm going to give him a piece of my mind!" KC got up from the table, slipped his feet into his pink slippers with feathers adorning the toe. "Nobody punches one of my girls". The tail of his lavender silk housecoat flowed out behind him as he stormed toward the back door.
"KC! Don't go out there like that. Anyway, Mr. Freeman outweighs you by a hundred pounds. He's just mad because I picked one of his roses. I think he was only trying to scare me when he swung around. It was probably an accident when he hit me in the eye." Cassie's voice was desperate, but went unheard. She watched as KC stomped across the backyard to Mr. Freeman's yard where the giant of a man was weeding his flower beds. Scared for KC's safety, she shouted, "Jo Ann. Come here and hurry up! KC is fixing to be in trouble!"
Jo Ann appeared in the kitchen in jeans, pulling a sweatshirt over her head hurriedly. "What's going on? Oh my God! What happened to your face?" Jo Ann examined Cassie's eye closely. "Did KC do this? He can't be drunk this early in the day."
"Of course KC didn't do it. He knows I'd punch him back. Mr. Freeman did it because I picked one of his roses. KC has gone over there to confront him. You've got to do something. Mr. Freeman will kill KC." Cassie jumped from one foot to the other, wringing her hands anxiously.
Jo Ann slipped her feet into a pair of crocs. Opening a kitchen drawer, she got her bb pistol that she used to shoot the squirrels out of her pecan trees. "Let's go see what's going on before he hurts KC."
When they walked into the backyard, Jo Ann exclaimed, "You didn't tell me KC still had on his night clothes. He's even got on his wig. Poor thing. Mr. Freeman will have a real go at him if we don't hurry up."
"I am not a flaming pervert you old bully!" KC blew a blonde ringlet out of his face that had stuck to his pink lip gloss. The glittery purple eye shadow on his eyes sparkled in the sunlight. "You had no right to hit Cassie. I ought to beat your brains out with my slipper if it wouldn't break the heal." KC shook his slipper at the larger man menacingly.
"She stole my property you pansy!" Mr. Freeman shook his garden troll at KC.
