Unless you're an old hippie or druggie you probably don't remember Lou Reed.

 

He was a rock and roll bad ass before it was cool. He wrote songs about dope and cross dressers back when Jimmy Morrison was banned from doing concerts because they thought he shook his Johnson at them.

 

 

 

I'm limited by the number of videos I can post but there's a couple more you can look up:

 

Sweet Jane, Pale Blue Eyes and Heroin all by the Velvet Underground.

Walk on the Wild Side has been called the greatest song, ever. I can't think of any better. It's hard to think of any more influential musician in the 20th century.

Interesting career. He was once asked about his lack of commercial success in the music business and he said "I'm not in the music business! I'm not a businessman, I'm a musician!"

He was given electro-shock "treatment" when he was just 14 to "cure" his bisexuality. Jeeze :( - maybe it helped make him become the original artist he was. Perfect Day was a 1997 #1 hit in UK for 3 weeks - raised over £2m for charity. A one-off. R.I.P.
