Weekly Wrap Up (Dec.23 - Dec.29)

So, who is ready to bring in the New Year with a bang? Well let's do something a little different as we all here at GA enjoyed the holidays so let's finish off with you taking over! Why don't we discuss the New Year. I know a few years ago I failed miserably when I said I wanted to be more of a drama queen in the coming year :P Well, some of you may have thought I'd succeeded. But what the h e double hockey sticks, lets ask you what you are going to make your resolution to be this upcoming year :). I will try to get myself to recall it towards the end of 2019 and we can see how we all did :gikkle:

Well lets see what did happen in the blogs this week!

For The Love

by C James

Chris grew up a loner in small-town Arizona, but things began to change for him when he started college. Sometimes for the better, but sometimes for the worse, and often with humor, the changes affect his life, as he sets for on the road of life, and towards finding the love of his life, with a lot of adventure along the way.

Don't forget.... Read, Write, and REVIEW!!!

i don't find resolutions work ... too much pressure and usually too lofty as well. Like i will lose 100lbs  (if i lost a 100lbs i'd be dead...so i'm not doing that)  i think if you want to make changes of any kind they need to be manageable. To reach a goal, you need to set targets and track progress.

i haven't thought a lot about what i'd like to change .. i made a lot of them in the last 6 months. So i think maybe i just want to keep the status quo, not rock my proverbial boat too much.

In the past I've never been any good at keeping New Year's resolutions. Especially when they involved giving something up. I prefer now to set myself a realistic goal each year and this year, I achieved it. It may not mean that much to others, and I wasn't aiming for the stars, but it was a step forward and that was important to me.

Next year, I want to be a better person than I was this year. In whatever way I can. Better at my job, my hobby, my family, and better at helping and understanding other people. Even a small improvement means a lot. But there's no way I'm ever going to be able to give up Timbits (see Tim Hortons).

I have a resolution that I kind of made a few weeks ago. My Dad recently gave up driving and is relying on the kids, a bit more me, to help him out. I have been using more patience and hope that I can keep that up throughout the New Year. I just keep reminding myself how grumpy I will be when I have to give up mine :) Also, I think it is a realistic goal and the only thing I'm giving up personally is my stress and sometimes frustration.

I'm hoping to finish my house renovation over the next year.  I also have writing goals I outlined in the 2019 Writing Goals thread.  As far as resolutions, I'd like to work on maintaining a positive attitude in a negative environment where I work.
