Nostalgia, family, and the many generations coming together is often a theme around the holidays. I didn't want to feature another holiday story right now, though, since I'm sure readers can find plenty of those to enjoy! I wanted to bring those themes forward that are so common in a new way, so I searched and found this great short story by Carlos Hazday that pays homage to... the family car.

Description:  A 1929 Ford Model A Tudor, bought at the start of the Great Depression, is passed from father to son through four generations. Through the decades, Melvyn Ford is a silent witness to joy and sorrow. The car plays a role at family births, weddings, and deaths.

Nice surprise, Cia. Thanks for the early Christmas present.

This is a favorite of mine, written a long time ago, and nowhere near as polished as my current offerings. It's also proof I can write stuff not featuring a certain MC who's taken over my life. Even if these little tales sometimes get lost in the clutter. :P

And yes, I suspect @WolfM is biased. I suspect he was buttering me up so I'd edit his work faster. ;)

I recently came across this short from @Carlos Hazday and thoroughly enjoyed it. I recommend that others also read this great 'feel good' offering, I'm sure it will lift anyone's spirits.

It's well worth the time to read and enjoy it for the first time.  Also it's a quick read and I just read it again for about the fifth time!

This story being featured is well deserved. Congratulations, @Carlos Hazday. I'd never try to get you to edit faster since that leads to mistakes being missed. I am biased all the same and freely admit it. ;)

Believe it or not, I actually put this in the lineup back in September!! :P This morning at 6 AM I was frantically checking, thinking I forgot to put in one for this month then I saw I hadn't. LOL

Edit: I may be biased now but I originally read this story when @Carlos Hazday was just a name on GA’s author list.

It may not be a technical masterpiece, however, the storyline is what makes it shine.

I also read this story back when it first came out. It's one of my favorites that I reread every so often. The premise is hokey, yet @Carlos Hazday , even early in his writing career, treats it with such care that he brings it off brilliantly.
