Where the heck did you get so much experience to write such fabulous stories in 23 years? I mean, I'm assuming you did the whole baby and childhood thing, so quite a few of those years weren't really suitable for writing in.

Dom, your squiggle at the side of the post says you're 21. Is that out of date?

A lot of the best writing happens with young writers, mostly because they just go and do it. It's not that people's writing doesn't mature and get better, but that people who write while they're young have an intensity to their writing (and are probably very writing-oriented to begin with so they've had more practice proportionate to their lifespans so far), and what they don't have is the timidity that makes people wait on their writing, or worse yet, write and don't finish or publish.

(I do not believe that people have only a certain amount of good writing in them: that is, if you write good stuff when you're young it doesn't mean you won't write good stuff later: that's up to a lot of other factors)

Hey Dom, Happy birthday! I hope you had a great one. Yeah chapter 23 of TOU was really awesome I loved it, can't wait for the next one. As far as writing goes I agree, Dom's great and there are quite a few excellent, young writers out there.......I just wish I were among their number. I recently decided that I wanted to write professionally (as well as of course novels and stuff), but I can't seem to figure out where to begin. Sadly like Lucy said I seem to already be in the habit of putting off actually sitting down and writing, I just get the ideas and then don't follow up on many of them, and complete nothing . Oh well Maybe I'll get better. Anyway have a fantastic year Dom, take care all.

FYI: Dom is 22 years old. The 23 he was referring to is Chapter 23 of TOU...but an understandable confusion with that one....yep, for 22, Dom is very wise...but to me, age is a number and wisdom can be derived at by any of us at any age:)

Hey, at least Sharon baked Dom a chocolate cake (my favorite)..sad, that Dom didn't get to have any...shall we sing "McArthur Park" about the cake melting in the park.....by the time it would have arrived to Dom it would have melted and been stuck in a snowstorm.
