Yay! I'm going to start posting here, since I read your blog posts anyway and I now consider you a deity or idol of sorts.

In general, I enjoy talks about religion and politics with family. But I make a point NEVER to bring it up, because my mom still has to deal with them and it embarrasses her when they think I'm the one whose stark raving mad. I always wear a smug look when they're talking nonsense and when it comes to joining in I revel in the dirty looks. The trick for me is to take the line "I think this because of.... but of course it is possible, even though it is completely ridiculous that....*insert ridiculous belief*.." rather than to take the line "How the hell can you believe THAT?!" I find that treating people as if they are little children when it comes to overt religiosity and hypocrisy is the best way to entertain myself when put in an irritating scenario. When it comes down to it, I don't really care what they think. I'm anticipating a number of eggs the day I come out.

I have like zero time because of grad school, so I got one of those pull up thingys that hook onto the top of a doorframe from bed, bath and beyond. I'm possibly about as strong as an aggressive pigeon, but looking at the pull up thingys every morning makes me feel stronger.
