WTF is wrong with the letter "y"?

Really. What did "y" ever do to the gay community to get it removed from their language? Why does boy have to be boi? Why does hey have to be hai? Is that supposed to be cute? A way to distinguish gai people from other people. A wai to describe or delineate other members of the gai communiti? What's next? Mai Dai celebrations? Will the holidais change too? I find this almost as irritating as Randy Jackson calling everyone "dog".

I'm not convinced that such differentiation does the gai communiti ani good. I'm not convinced it does ani harm either, other than to annoy people like me. I guess it's got a long histori. Back in the 50's and 60's, some gai men (especialli in England) spoke their own language, Polari. Of course, Polari is spelled with an i at the end too. Coincidence? Polari

Maibe I'll just file this in mi folder of annoiing things, like when gai guys call their male friends girlfriend. Or straight white guys use the term "bro".

Sigh.

I totally and completely agree with you. It just means you're an idiot who can't spell. It's not cute, not funny, and indicative of something else. Or maybe you're just a pretentious person.

RIGHT ON, BRO :D

Color vs Colour is a specific difference between two languages. UK, Canadian, and Australia English all use -our while US English uses -or. There's no right or wrong there. They aren't the same language. People can understand one another but many words don't sound the same and many don't have the same meaning. (Go and ask your boss's secretary in the USA for a rubber and see what sort of reaction it gets you...)

Boy v Boi is an affectation and "Boi" is some made up term that people use because they think it's cute and/or pretentious. It's neither.

I knew the first part just ask a few and say we don't talk proper English, though im sure it's just being teased :P

To be honest people should say just boy, but doesn't bother me as much if your typing to a friend online or chat and use nothing but text speech. I might just use u and instead of u, but mostly just using text speech in a text massage. Or boo (for a bf or gf) annoys me as well.

Maybe get a campaign going to bring back the y for the ones who don't spell it boy.
