Jack Scribe Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Worth reading this story concerning senior gays "facing prejudice at twilight" - percieved and real. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/09/us/09age...nted=1&_r=2. It features the pre-Stonewall generation who grew up using defensive devices to hide their sexuality from an unaccepting society. Times are changing but to what degree if you don't live in a community with a significant LGBT population? Jack
AFriendlyFace Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 Thank you, Jack, for this very informative article! I was completely unaware of the plight faced by many of our older GLBT brothers and sisters. It's deeply sad and disappointing indeed to think that at that point in their lives many of them are forced to retreat back into the closet Let us hope that the number of facilities available to take care of them grows as rapidly as the demand (which will undoubtedly increase as the boomers get older) -Kevin
