Conner Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 (edited) Poor Dennis. It simply goes to show you what happens when you want everything to be perfect and you're totally committed to it. There's no room for flexibility when something doesn't go right. Given the stress that Dennis is under, I'm surprised he didn't do something worse. I'm glad Dennis stood up for his man! :2hands: The guy in the bar was a total jerk. Given Gerald's history, his reaction was to be expected, I guess. Obviously, anger and violence scare the crap out of him. It was great that he took the time to explain his reaction to Dennis. I believe it's something that Gerald needs to deal with, though. His behaviour does not serve him well, nor the relationship. Sweet, sweet chapter, Nick. Conner Edited November 10, 2007 by Conner
Site Moderator TalonRider Posted November 10, 2007 Site Moderator Posted November 10, 2007 Alcohol can affect people differently. Sometimes, the normally quiet, shy person can be come aggressive. I know in my younger days, when Phil and went out, after a couple of beer, I'd start to get a little jealous if someone started talking to him. I didn't do anything rash and it was a feeling I didn't like at all. I have to agree with your opinion of Gerald's reaction, especially after hearing his story. It will be a little while before he can forgive Dennis. And it's something Dennis won't forget for awhile. I also think that this will strengthen their relationship. Jan

Conner I think that Gerald probably should have told Dennis what he'd been through a long time ago, but maybe he didn't think they were on that level yet. When I posted, I had completely forgotten that Dennis was somewhat drunk. I suppose that would figure in when examining his behaviour. I should start taking notes. Conner Yeah, I wonder how that's going to affect Dennis's Scotch consumption.

Jan I usually just start puking when I've had too much to drink (especially if I drink beer first then liquor) :nuke: :nuke: :nuke:
Site Moderator TalonRider Posted November 11, 2007 Site Moderator Posted November 11, 2007 That can happen too, Nick. That reminds me of my first time to drink. I too got sick after mixing beer and vodka. Also, if I remember correctly, you did introduce us to some of past home life when he was younger. Jan

swoop67 Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 I am glad he stood up for him too. You are right that alcohol affects everyone differently. I am hyper to begin with and when I do drink I can really start to mess with people and be funny. It has been a long time since I have been drunk and I am glad for that. Next chapter please...lol
