Tiger Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Not to ignore whatever help those folks may have been, but your work in the Dark Earth trilogy is good enough to stand on its own and make you deserving of being a promising author. I realize that, but someone has to notice the work, and the work needs editing.
GaryK Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 I realize that, but someone has to notice the work, and the work needs editing. It's nice to see you're so humble!
Tiger Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 I am humble to a fault actually. I was actually surprised to be considered at all.
GaryK Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Is there a formal process that the readers can participate in to recommend an author as promising or deserving of being hosted?

You can contact any of the Writer Support Team members by pm and we take it from there. My help to Tim is the form of editing. Jan

Jan you know, this should be written somewhere.. I wonder if this is in the FAQ's.... *Runs off to check* Edit: *comes back* Hmmm.. nothing about Promising authors....FAQ's need to be updated for this....

Perhaps, they will add them some time in the future. You could address the issue in the administrative communication sub-forum.

The trouble is that the admins and Mods are already taxed to the limit.
GaryK Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 I'd volunteer, but I'm about to get very busy helping Myr figure out and implement better ways to monetize the website. If there's time though I'll do my best to try and help. However my newbie status might make it difficult cause I hardly know what's going on myself, LOL.

At least then they'll know who to contact when they need someone. I also volunteered for Moderation as I am always on the Boards... Now back to the topic... Tiger! Where's my fix?

GaryK Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 I might as well be dead. I just finished Chapter 7. Julian sure can be mean. And I sense a Promising Author who can write superb cliffhangers! Yes, it's been a long, stress-filled day and I'm in the mood to make trouble,

Yes, it's been a long, stress-filled day and I'm in the mood to make trouble, Ugh! You've been listening to the goat too much. My cliffhangers, if you can call them that, are mild compared to his.
GaryK Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Ugh! You've been listening to the goat too much. My cliffhangers, if you can call them that, are mild compared to his. I am halfway done with Chapter 9. They're off to see the wizard; no pun intended. Yes, my nap is long forgotten. When I'm done I have some things I want to tell you. But I will do it privately. I think you will like what I intend to tell you.
BeaStKid Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Ugh! You've been listening to the goat too much. My cliffhangers, if you can call them that, are mild compared to his. yeah...even mines are mild. The one in chapter 7(as Jan put it) is nothing in comparison to what the goat (or sometimes you, Tiger) give us poor readers.
GaryK Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 (or sometimes you, Tiger) Amen to that. Tim has raised my blood pressure significantly on more than one occasion. And it's not always at the end of a chapter either. Oh, and it's not always due to cliffhangers either.

Tiger Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Graeme!! Where is that echidna when you need him!!! Graeme only cares about CJ doing that, because he is part of CJ's team.
BeaStKid Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Graeme only cares about CJ doing that, because he is part of CJ's team. Damn!
Tiger Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 FYI, I should be releasing Chapter 10 some time next week. I should also be finishing Chapter 11 soon.
