GaryK Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 (edited) Just released: Chapter 13: Shattered Valentines Did the cliffhanger from last chapter turn out the way you expected it it? What do you think about how the battle in this chapter ends? Does this chapter qualify as yet another genuine cliffhanger? Edited May 4, 2008 by GaryInMiami
Tiger Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 Just released:Chapter 13: Shattered Valentines Did the cliffhanger from last chapter turn out the way you expected it it? What do you think about how the battle in this chapter ends? Does this chapter qualify as yet another genuine cliffhanger? Those are good questions. I would say this cliffy is milder than Chapter 10's, but remember that as we get closer to the end of Part 1, things are likely to be intense. We still have some people in Empire City to defeat, and let's not forget about Quake and his minions. Don't be fooled by the fact that there are two chapters left either. They are likely to be the longest in the entire story.

GaryK Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 All I can say is "ouch" and Did anyone get the number of that truck?" Tim has just killed off his editor and all you can say is "ouch". Or has Tim really killed off his editor? That's part of the thrill of a cliffie; you won't know for certain until the next chapter is released!
Tiger Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 You have to wait for the next installment to find out for sure.

Tiger Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 That's what he told me when I commented on it. Then again, I said something different from what I posted here. Yes, it was a mild cliffie. I do not have a tentative date for the next chapter. My main focus right now is my anthology story. It is due next month. I'm aiming for the html due date for this one. I'll be working on it every day until it is finished. After that, I am returning to Dark Earth: The Prophecy. I've also started a chapter of Second Chances, but I want to finish Dark Earth: The Prophecy before returning to it. Beyond that, there are also a few short stories I will be doing and Part II of the Dark Earth series. I will announce the official title once I start writing it.
scoopny Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 See you admitted it! It was a cliffie . Hopefully Talon pulls through.

GaryK Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 I hope so too. I want to go up against a certain goat character. What chance would a goat stand against an eagle?
Tiger Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 I hope so too. I want to go up against a certain goat character. That could be a most interesting scenario. What chance would a goat stand against an eagle? Well, those opthalmic laser beams are quite nasty actually.
GaryK Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 TalonRider could just affect the weather and turn the goat into an ice cube before it had a chance to take any sort of offensive action? A lot of good opthalmic lasers would do if the goat were a solid block of ice.

GaryK Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 That's an interesting point, Gary. That fight sounds to easy, almost anti-climactic. It's probably a moot point anyway, Tim. It doesn't look like TalonRider will be alive in the next chapter.

GaryK Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 There's someone who knows if he will not be or if he will be. The author always knows.
Tiger Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 The author always knows. Of course he knows. You never know what evil lurks in an author's mind.
GaryK Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 I always thought the Katana was something you made up. I'm watching a show about Japanese swords and specifically how the Katana is made. Darned things are sharp and durable.

Darned things are sharp and durable. Katanas are the best swords. I have been fascinated with them for yours. I became even more fascinated when my cousin bought one. Traditionally, katanas are samurai swords.

GaryK Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 (edited) Thanks. I'll look at it later on. Right now I am finally, after nine chapters and now into the tenth, enjoying LiS. It sure took long enough. The fact I stuck it out for eight chapters shows the measure of faith I have in your recommendations. Edited May 8, 2008 by GaryInMiami
C James Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 I hope so too. I want to go up against a certain goat character. What? Poor, innocent me? Of course he knows. You never know what evil lurks in an author's mind. I've finally caught up, and I see evil, all right, evil cliffhangers! And writing your editor into the story? What a thing to do! Will Talon survive? Hrmmm.. Definitely a most Evil Cliffhanger!

But he's not the only one to have at least used his editors name and made him a corrupt preacher. Well, I think a hero is much better than a corrupt preacher! Edited May 27, 2008 by Tiger
