Doesn't anyone else think...............we don't ramble as much here?

I miss our old forum, because it seems we were a little less restrained there.

Maybe it is just me, but I miss it.

I am still not 100% comfortable here.

My bad.

I agree...I still miss the old place, too. I also feel a little less comfortable. I guess it's partly just that there's a lot more people here. I don't think I'd just start some random subject, or talk about personal things. Anyway, it's not just you.

I am really trying here, but I (stupidly) get so nervous.

But I do think the others are not posting as much either.

Thanks for responding and not making me feel like the one big idiot, lol.

Transitions have always been difficult for me. I remember when computers first showed up in the work place. I immediately classed it as public enemy #1. A memo was supposed to be handwritten, sent to the typing pool, corrections made and, finally, distributed. That only took a few days. It was the process that I liked. The thought of preparing and distributing a memo in under an hour and then getting responses within a few hours was just too overwhelming. Now I can cut and paste with the best of them!

I'm still suspicious of the microwave oven. I didn't get one until 1996. Can you believe that? When one of my friends first saw it he said, "Welcome to the eighties, Conner!" :( He was banned for a few weeks. :music:

Anyway, this is all to say that transitions begin with an ending. The first step is always letting go of what we had before. Otherwise we never really move on. For some changes, it's easy. For others, it's damn difficult.

So you're definitely normal. Just like me! :lmao:

Hugs,

Conner

We're here, lot's of us are Queer, get over it. :2thumbs:

This place is what you make of it. Personally, I love it here and am glad we moved. Oh, and this is way better than the yahoo group. Have you seen some of the stuff being posted there lately? Basura...

My opinions only,

Well I never spoke in the Yahoo group. The idea of what I was saying going out in all those emails REALLY made me feel weird. But I'm getting better at talking here. Even if it is mostly to open my big fat mouth over in the Soapbox. :D

And Conner, microwaves give me the creeps too. I always turn it on and take a few steps back. It's like I can feel the brain tumor forming.

I like these new forums. The Yahoo group is just not designed for continued discussions. This is just like the forums that plasticreality made for us (despite the bigger audience), and it brings the discussions to the same place as the stories. I don't think we really need to be worried about more people seeing our posts...if they didn't like Dom's stories, they wouldn't be taking the time to read these forums, so we already have something in common with them. :D

Going a little off-topic here... :off:

You guys amaze me. My junior year of college, I moved into an apartment-style dorm with a kitchen for the first time. The girl who was supposed to bring a microwave hadn't had room in her car to bring it, so we were without a microwave until she was able to go home the next weekend and get it. I'm honestly not capable of cooking without a microwave...I use it for so many different shortcuts when cooking on the stove. I can't imagine how people survived without them!

Okay, here's a confession. My apartment has a gas stove, and I'm terrified of it. I've been living here almost 2 years, and I hardly ever cook. I make my boyfriend do most of the cooking. I've always been horribly afraid of fire anyway, and then I saw some oil spill over onto our stove and catch fire, and I haven't been near it since. I eat a lot of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

OK, I just read the first two posts in this thread before scrolling down to read the most recent two and was, like "WTF??? How did we get on microwaves?"

*Conner notices Reapersharvest age and panics*

OMG, there's a minor in here! A minor author, no less. All right everyone, put your clothes back on. Well, I'll wear my log tie. 0:)

Clean up the language, too! Nothing worse than gosh and darn from now on. :P

Hey there, Reapersharvest, you're not related to the Grim Reapers by any chance? I certainly hope not! :( That sickle looks a little omnious...gulp.

Hugs,

Conner :boy:

Please, I'm not going to hold my breath for the day this board is harsher than my high school.

Minor author wiith broken laoptop, unfortunately, so there won't be any more stories from the Reaper for a while.

All right everyone. You can lose the clothes. He's cool.

Well, Reaper, a broken laptop is no excuse for not writing. *Does anyone sense some fatherly advice comimg?* High schools have computers, libraries have computer and friends have computers.

Perhaps the subject matter of your stories is of a senstive nature or you need access to your research files. Hmmm, that's a tough one.

Well, when the chips are down....

Are you into faith healing? "Laptop, heal thyself!" Ok, I'll stop. I can take a hint.

Hang tough, Reaper...and keep that sickle at a safe distance.

Hugs,

Conner :boy:
