What do you look for in a story?

I read the last paragraph in a book or story. The ending paragraph for me surmounts the means to start an end. Yeah, I'm weird.

I like happy endings... stories that just make me feel better and more hopeful about life in general. Life is tough enough by itself... stories should make one happy

Good characters! I can forgive just about anything if the characters are deep and well developed.
