Among the Nazis even the leadership, there were a few gays from the early days of the national socialist movement, when even the head of the SA was a notorious homosexual (probably a bear bottom based on accounts ).

 

At the very least in this case, a few showed that they still remembered who they were beyond all the propaganda against homosexuals.

 

I hate to make a negative point at such a soul lifting story, but I have to point out that when Western Allied forces and Soviet Forces did liberate homosexuals; many were re-imprisoned for their sexuality again or were submitted to institutions or treatment.

 

When it comes to gays, neither side of the war were generally honorable or kind. We hear stuff about the Jewish Holocaust with reparations and apologies, but the gay holocaust was not ended by the war and in some cases it was extended further due to "good guys". I doubt NATO or the Russian Federation will apologize for their actions following the war towards the gay population.
