There was a thread about Brendan Burke, the first openly gay guy linked with the ice hockey. He passed away in 2009 after a car accident but his father and brother want to go on with his legacy. More info here.

I agree completely. I just wanted to point out though that it is still not an acceptable thing in most places to be gay on a team, especially in macho sports like football, hockey, lacrosse, or baseball.
