TetRefine Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 So, its Christmas time and all the radio stations are playing the same old Christmas songs over and over again. One of the most frequent is this song by Christian rock band, New Song, called Christmas Shoes. Its basically about this little boy who's mother is dying on Christmas Eve and he wants to buy her a pair of shoes as a Christmas present. He doesn't have enough money, and this guy in line pays for them himself so the little boy can have the shoes for his mamma. Sounds sad right? Well, if you take it at face value it is. But when you think about how this song is not real, and was written to tug at people's emotions to get them to buy the song so they'd make money, it all becomes incredibly cheesy and just stupid. Patten Oswald, a comedian, broke down the song in a hilarious way. Here's the original song, Christmas Shoes. And here's the Patten Oswald comedic breakdown of this horrible song. 1
MikeL Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 (edited) It's hard to believe that Alabama ever released that recording. They really are a lot better than that. Here's one that's not so cheesy...a different take on a classic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=ddVZOK_9UUI Edited November 29, 2012 by MikeL
