Some of us have been talking about Dom Luka a lot...but I have to say that another author I wish I could see a hell of a lot more from is the gone-but-not-forgotten (by me, anyway) Little Buddha.

I thought his Someday Out of the Blue was tremendous. Occasionally I got a little irritated at the protagonist's petulance and weepiness...but LB made it believable, and there were reasons intrinsic to the character for said petulance and weepiness.

Don't know how many of you have read Someday Out of the Blue, but if coming-of-age tales do it for you, this one is really good, in my opinion.
