They say for my area, the best time to view this moon is just before sunrise this morning, which is at 6:47 am.

Oh Crap! I missed this one. I was born 3 years to late for the previous one(1948) and the next is in 2034. I guess I will just have to beat the odds and hang around until I'm 84 to see the next one. Well, it's a plan any ways.

I don't suppose any of you guys (TalonRider???) managed a picture or two? There are always the observatory web sites, but it is not the same as a personal pic.

You have one more chance to see it in December. Apparently it's a three month event, Oct/Nov/Dec.

I do not seek out having pain intentionally inflicted upon myself. So what comes next is not how I would choose to make a living. No sane person would.

This guy is not playing with a full deck!

Well it is now official, all the crap from when I was a kid are worthless. The following items however are, as the title says, worth way to much money (and I don't have any of them).

This video is an example of one of the reasons I started this thread. I think that everyone that views it will find something that interests them, piques their curiosity or adds to their knowledge and desire to learn something new. Please enjoy.

So my question to you is. Are the people who create these, extremely talented? Or just have nothing better to do with their time?

sandrewn

( I voted for extremely talented)

Every winter we all have to relearn how to drive on snow and ice. Montrealers are no exception. Sometimes though it is just a matter of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Add black ice to the mix and presto. Watch both videos in the article that follows, I can so relate to what is happening to every one involved.

I came across this and felt I had to warn glitteryantlers of a possible pretender to her throne. Though it doesn't really look like anything to be seriously worried about. But forewarned is to be forearmed and always ever vigilant.

It is not very often I come across a picture that captures my heart as this one has. Plus I didn't know where to post it. Not that many members visit this thread, but I chose here because as long as I am a member of GA this thread will remain active and this picture will remain available to any who would like to see it.

I think some of my status updates are causing some alarm to some members here. They are meant to be interesting and informative and nothing else. For the one on ' Dust Mites '. Read the following references, to put things into proper perspective.

Have you ever wondered what a group of birds is called. Gaggle and flock I know,  of others not so much. I wasn't aware of the variety of names out there.

What do you call a group of birds?

(and no,a group of birds, is not the answer)

AC Benus posted in the Recent Status Updates, the question of why the association of Robins with Christmas in the UK? Northie gave a good answer. The following is probably where she found it, but here I can it give more room for a more detailed explanation.
