Looking for a story

Looking for this story that I can't seem to find in my thousand bookmarks :(.   Summary is as follows:

 

Main character is very poor with dying disabled father.  Gets asked by his high school teacher to work as accountant for this big farm person.  He has a younger brother and sister he takes care of.  The farm owner is not a big fan of his gay son, but comes around soon enough.  Main character eventually ends up going to agriculture school and there is some mystery as well that I can't seem to recall

 

I know details are sketch but would appreciate any help.  I will in the mean time keep going through my thousands pages of books marks.
