Good morning, you lot! I’m on my way to the doctor so I can get an extension on this stupid exam I didn’t finish this weekend. Exhausted.

circumvent Audio pronunciation

verb | ser-kum-VENT

Definition

:
to manage to get around especially by ingenuity or stratagem

2
:
to hem in

:
to make a circuit around

If you've ever felt as if someone was circling around the rules, you have an idea of the origins of circumvent—it derives from the Latin circum, meaning "circle," and ventus, the past participle of the Latin verb venire, meaning "to come." The earliest uses of circumvent referred to a tactic of hunting or warfare in which the quarry or enemy was encircled and captured. Today, however, circumvent more often suggests avoidance than entrapment; it typically means to "get around" someone or something, as in our example sentences.

Here's a little something kinda goes along with social media addition.

Doctor’s note acquired. It’s a rainy day in Oslo. Gonna go hand this in, and then go home and write a bit before D&D tonight.

Speaking of social media, though, some folks really know how to use it right. Merriam-Webster is awesome on Twitter.

The pine tool boxes were made by one of Michael's uncles... then filled with a variety of things..

Time for me to disappear for the day.

I'm turning off my WiFi and focusing on stuff I need to do.

Peace, Love, and Forgiveness.

That is an excellent article which I'm going to share with a number of friends, some of whom have abandoned social media, some of whom have not.  I dumped Farcebook for the third time last summer.  I never liked its invasive nature, but always went back like the junkie I was, mostly to "stay in touch", which was the same thing as an alcoholic saying, "just one more drink".  The final blow was the revelation that Facebook is arguably the most corrupt media corporation in the world.  That finished me off for sure.  Then Google Plus, where I was already losing interest, decided it was going to pull the plug.  I pulled the plug on them.  With two G+ friends, I tried MeWe.  While it is probably the most moral of the options, it was not working out at all.  Then I was encouraged by a writer here to become more involved.  So you know what my one and only social media connection is today?  Yep.  Gay Authors.  As one of my fellow hikers said yesterday, "everyone needs community and needs to find ones that works for them".  She was talking about the three-dimensional world, but it's also true online.  So thanks to all of you with whom I've connected here.  It's the right place for me.  And I think I'll turn this into a status update.  Thanks much @Mikiesboy  .

i am glad you are here. glad to get to know you ... i have zero presence on social media ... Michael reads me things people say on there and most of the time, i see no good in it.  Here in the DiC we laugh, fool around, share stories and ideas, but we can also love and support each other here. We may never meet physically, but our souls do, and those who choose to share here, i think, are richer for it.

As a performing artist, I kind of have no choice but to use Facebook. It’s really hard to gather an audience without it these days, especially when you’re not very big yet. Interacting directly with an audience is important when you work without record labels, management or booking agents. And the mainstream music industry is even more corrupt than Facebook, so...

Time for D&D! When we ended last time, my character was about to seduce a ship’s captain, so that’s a good place to resume, I think. Back later!

Hey tim

It’s like blink and you’ll miss it, but I can see snow blowing around outside. The gloomy gray clouds kinda rule right now.

Lunch break.

House cleaning is done.

Laundry is done.

Getting ready to make some nasty-ass hot dogs for dinner. Not my choice, and it's something we have to cook every fraking Monday. Picky Eater.

I think I might have some Oatmeal.

School postings are done.

This week's assignment being worked on. Seeing as we didn't get the assignment worksheet till this morning.
