So I'm wondering what they are going to name the new building? Are they going to do One Comcast Center and Two Comcast Center like they did with the Liberty Place buildings? They are being built right next to each other after all.

And this is why civilized America is embarrassed of the South. The tidal wave trend of acceptance in the US is still stalled in the south, and backwards southerners will fight it till they are eventually forced to accept it. It was the same way with civil rights in the '60s. If they hadn't been forced to accept it, they would still probably have Jim Crow laws on the books now. This is pathetic, and one of many reasons northern Americans mock and don't respect the South.

If labels served no purpose of any kind, people would not engage in labeling. Labeling allows for people to easily identify what they believe is characteristics about that person. It helps them decide if they want to associate with that person or not, whether it be in a platonic or sexual manner. Its not always a positive thing, but to say it has no value isn't true.

So what percentage of sexual interest in the opposite or same sex constitutes bisexuality? Do it have to be like 70/30? 60/40? 50/50? I find some women sexually attractive, and I would probably sleep with the right one under the right circumstances. Yet I don't actively seek it out, nor would I be regretful if I slept with only guys my entire life. Does something like that qualify a person as bisexual, or just somewhat curious?

Both are pretty boring sports, in my opinion. The only time I watch baseball is if Boston is playing in the World Series, or I go to watch a game live. Forget about watching it on TV. Soccer (sorry, I'll never call it football) is just as boring, but it can also be interesting because its foreign and their fans are certifiably insane. I occasionally watch Premiere League games when they are broadcast here in the States, and I'll be watching the World Cup this summer. My interest was only sparked in soccer when the Fenway Group bought Liverpool FC. Remember too, baseball is big in the United States, but still pales in popularity to NCAA and NFL football.

Wicked. That is a saying that is damn near universal here in New England, but nobody outside here ever says. My Philly friends make fun of me for it all the time. I don't know any other sayings. Even in New Hampshire, the speech patterns and words are pretty different from those of Boston, so can't help you much there.

Cadinot, the famous gay porn producer, shot a scene where a group of boys rape another boy in the middle of the night in a dorm. The scene was complete with the "victim" crying and acting very terrified as he was used by this group. This was part of a popular and mainstream gay porn movie, and watched by hundreds of thousands. In fact, it is a highly watched clip on many mainstream gay tube sites. Fraternity X, a very popular gay site, also features many scenes where the actors playing drunken frat boys basically rape and abuse the bottoms. So I'll ask the question. Is simulated rape wrong in porn? Can it even be called rape since all the actors are consenting? Do you think it encourages real rape? If a couple acts out a rape fantasy where they are both willing, does that make them sick or more likely to rape someone for real? My answer to all of these are no, but I'm curious to hear other responses.

Boston fans are rowdy, but more classy then Philadelphians. I've experienced both. Boston fans can be very brutal toward Yankee, Canadiens, Rangers, Jets, and Giants fans. Basically any supporter of a team from New York is going to get shit on. I've Red Sox and Bruins fans to be the harshest, but thats because the rivalries are the most intense. But they don't take it to the level Philadelphia fans do. As for the sports culture, the beginning part of the decade was still mostly mediocre for professional sports teams. The Patriots had just won their first Super Bowl out of nowhere, and people were finally starting to retake an interest in them. They also got a brand new stadium for the 2002 season after they finally demolished Foxborough Stadium, which was a total dump. They got Gillette Stadium, which is a beautiful and modern stadium. The Red Sox were (and still are) the most beloved team of Boston, but they didn't see great playoff success until 2003 when they lost in the ALCS to New York, and finally won a Series in 2004. The Bruins were decent, but nobody really took an interest in them back then. They sucked through the middle part of the decade and then became good again in 2008. Their popularity didn't really take off in New England until the late 2000s. As for the Celtics, people liked them but they weren't really hugely popular, and wouldn't win a championship until later in the decade. Yes the 2000s were successful for Boston sports, but it wasn't really until 2003 when the Pats won it again that it really took off for everybody. It you are focusing on the early part of the decade in sports, it definitely has to be focused on the Red Sox, Fenway Park, and Yawkey Way. People in New England live and breathe the Sox, and Fenway Park is a one of a kind place that is literally treated as sacred ground in the city. They wanted to tear down Fenway a couple years ago and the opposition was universal and fierce. The owners received petitions and death threats, and eventually opted to just modernize the infrastructure and amenities. Even though the Red Sox hadn't won a series by 2002, they still enjoyed a hugely loyal and dedicated fan base. I can't really tell you what would be cool hangout spots in the city circa 2002 as I was only 10, and pretty much the only reason I went to Boston back then was to go to Red Sox games. I would think Newbury Street would be a popular place for wealthy 20-somethings, as it has many high-end boutiques and restuarants. I think I remember reading about how Newbury Street has some of the highest retail rents in the world. I haven't been down there in 2 years, but think of it as a higher-end version of Walnut Street in Center City Philadelphia.

Primary=Elementary and Middle schools. Secondary=High school. There is a big difference between only having completed 8th grade as opposed to 12th. You are pretty much useless for anything other then manual labor jobs if you haven't even graduated high school. Even just being a high school graduate doesn't get you very far any more in the job market. Gone are the days when you could go to work at 18, make a decent living as a low-skilled worker, and retire after 30 years in the factory.

I'm sorry, but college should be about the social experience and the growth that comes with that, as much as it should be about going to class and learning. The amount of social growth that happens during 4 years of college is astounding, and in my opinion is extremely important to learning how to become a well-functioning adult. You make friends that will last a lifetime, make horrible mistakes that you will pay dearly for but also learn valuable lessons from, and learn how to function without mommy and daddy leaning over you're shoulder 24/7. I think it is important for people to go live on campus during college and be far enough away from home to where you are forced to function independently. Nothing bothers me more then people who go to college 10 minutes from where they grew up and go home every weekend. Seriously, what good is that doing for you? You might as well just stay in high school. I went 6 hours from home, and to a radically different area. My parents can't just come and pick me up when I've had a rough week. I can't just drive home when something bad happens. It has forced me to become independent and learn to deal with my own problems by myself. I am so thankful for that. Besides, some of my best life memories have been made with friends on drunken, rowdy nights where we did stupid shit. That is why the social experience is important. Back to the original point. I am graduating with my Bachelors in Criminal Justice in a couple months. I've absolutely loved my 4 years here, but I have come to the conclusion I am ready to move on. I am not a natural academic, and while many classes have taught me how to think outside the box, they have been pretty useless in a practical, real-world sense. I am not a person to take an interest in learning something just for the sake of knowing it. It has to have a real-world application to it. The only reason I will ever go back to school after I finish now would be for advancement in the workplace.

Why not? It highlights a young kid applying himself to something useful. If he can do that at 13, who knows what he'll be able to accomplish 20 years down the line with a higher education and experience. Someone seems to be one hell of a negative nelly.
