The most dedicated fans in all of the sports world are those of college football. Nowhere else will you find the intensity, passion, dedication, and tradition that you find on the campuses of America's largest universities on game day. Its pretty awesome to see 60,000-115,000 people pack into a stadium, all wearing the same colors, and go nuts cheering for their team. I picked out a couple clips of some of my favorite moments of fan passion from college football. Oh and for those of you who say soccer fans are far more passionate, being a violent, psychotic nut job does not equal being passionate. It just equals being an idiot. I never understood why soccer fans felt the need to be violent hooligans. Skip to 2:48 and watch till about 3:40. This is absolutely ridiculous on so many levels, but its not that uncommon. I grew up in a relatively rural area where hunting was a male past time, and every father and son did it. I was killing and butchering deer from the time I was 9, and I understood the concept of where meat comes from. A cute little Bambi or cow has to die for me to eat. It was never something that bothered me. I worked many pre-Thanksgivings on a turkey farm where we slaughtered turkeys to be sold. Yes, I have chopped the heads off of living, conscious turkeys, gutted them, and plucked them. Nobody ever saw it as anything unusual. Nowadays, I live in a major city where there are no farms around, and you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who grew up hunting or working on farms. When I tell them about my hunting and turkey slaughtering days, the reaction is always the same: disgust. Its as if these city people think the meat just magically appears at the supermarket or bodega, and have no concept of an animal having to be killed or slaughtered for it to happen. I can not tell you how many times I get a disgusted look from people when I show no sympathy for having killed a deer. Where I was raised, they were simply something to be killed and eaten. They weren't pets, and there was no need to feel emotional about you're dinner. God, city people can be so damn stupid and ignorant sometimes.

Porn, to me, is a very interesting subject. If it wasn't for gay porn, I probably would have graduated high school still closeted and god only knows where I would have ended up. Certainly not where I am now, and I like where I'm at now. My first experience with porn was around 10/11. My grandpa had a subscription to Playboy and left a magazine in the bathroom. One day after school when I was over there, I found it and spent almost an hour locked in the bathroom looking through it. I ripped out a picture to secretly take home with me, but got caught when my grandpa wondered why a picture had been ripped out. My dad handled the situation, and he didn't scold me, but told me I was too young to be looking at that stuff and took it away. When I started coming into my sexuality more and realized I had different inclinations, I began exploring gay porn around 16 or so. In order to avoid getting caught, I used an old laptop hidden away in the basement to watch it. My brother started having drug issues and my dad thought he was using that old laptop to do things he wasn't supposed to. He installed one of those screenshot/key-logger programs, and found out unintentionally that I was using that laptop to look at gay porn. Both my parents were completely taken aback because they never suspected. My dad eventually asked me about it, and he was the first person I came out to. I was mortified at the time that it happened, but it worked out all well looking back on it now. Anyway, porn opened me up to a whole other world that I didn't get to see because of where I lived. In my hometown, there are nothing but white people for as far as the eye could see. I saw plenty of gorgeous white guys in school growing up, but nobody of color. When I started with gay porn I stumbled by accident onto this video of two uncut, young Colombian twinks doing each other. I was fascinated by their beautiful, dark skin, and the fact that they were uncut. I had never seen an uncut dick in real life or in porn before. It was so exotic and different to me that porn from Colombia, Brazil, etc. became the only thing I liked to look at for a while. I've branched out a little since, but its ironic because my boyfriend now is an uncut, Colombian twink. I wonder if there is a connection there... Most of the guys I have slept with have been non-white, so I'm convinced porn helped shape some of my sexual inclinations. Anyway, I don't think porn is toxic as long as you don't allow it to overtake you. I have a pretty healthy, active sex life but still like to look at porn pretty regularly. It simply lets me branch out from my reality and have a little fantasy for five minutes or so. I disagree that there is a fine line on what kind of porn is okay and what kind is not. Some people would find dominant/submissive porn to be degrading and desensitizing, but I find it totally hot. So who's right? I personally find fisting to be absolutely disgusting, but plenty of others find it totally hot. I fail to see how having a fist shoved up your ass can be pleasurable, but some people do like it. If thats what they like, then good for them. It's like sex. If its consensual its all good and fine by me. I personally don't find sensual, lovey-dovey porn to be stimulating at all, but some people love it. It's all in personal taste, and I don't feel like we, as sexual minorities, are in any position to judge in that department. Hell, a lot of people already think what we do in the most vanilla form is evil and wrong, so IMO its hypocritical to judge.

What kind of university blocks its students from accessing stuff that isn't illegal? Something as popular as porn at that! My one roommate has work study in the IT department here, and his boss told him that the number one thing that is accessed by male dorm residents on the university's wifi is porn. Nothing else was even a close second. If they block porn on you're campus, you must have some incredibly sexually frustrated males running amok there, haha.

I have heard good think about the Hornblower series. My friend, who introduced me to Sharpe, also had the entire Hornblower series and he said they were pretty good. I guess when I get bored of Sharpe I'll take a break for a while and pick up Hornblower.

I've only read Sharpe's Tiger before this one. I decided to read them in chronological order instead of published order. I can't stand when an author writes prequels after he's already wrote a future storyline, so I decided to start with the "India campaign" before Cornwell gets into the Napoleonic Wars that make up the bulk of the series. I've seen a couple of short clips of the tv series, but they looked so poorly produced that I didn't much bother with them. Besides, low-budget tv book adaptions always tend to ruin it if you have already read the book in my opinion.

I'm reading three different books right now. Sharpe's Triumph, by Bernard Cornwell Berlin 1961: Kennedy, Kruschev, and the Most Dangerous Place on Earth, by Frederick Kempe The Starboard Sea, by Amber Dermont I'm usually only a "one book at a time" reader, but all these really caught my eye around the same time so I made an exception.

I was outed at 17 because of my porn viewing habits. Seriously, the worst thing you can do is overreact and make it out to be something dirty. It will make him shameful about sex, and drive him to want it more but in secret because it's something off limits. My friends and I looked at porn together when we were 12-13, and it was mostly out of curiosity more then anything else. Like others said it all depends on his maturity level. If he's mature enough to handle it, I say let him look occasionally. Better to de-stigmatize it early then drive it "underground" where bad habits can develop IMO.

I think the whole masculine thing goes for all gay/bi/trans/whatever guys who were raised in very hetero-normative environments. We had to act very straight in order to hide and/or fit in, and even when we come out we still fear being viewed as "one of them". I've been out of the closet fully since basically 19, and I'm still petrified of being viewed as not masculine enough. I've come to the conclusion that being masculine makes coming out easier, and makes you more desirable in the gay community. Theres a reason I spend so much time in the gym working out and watching what I eat, and it sure isn't so I can 'live a healthy lifestyle'. It's almost scary to think how accurate this guy's article is.

The great thing about growing up going to the various Maine and New Hampshire beaches were French-Canadians. There were always a lot of them on the beaches up by me, and they all wore speedos. I don't know what it is, but there must be something in the water up there that makes them, on average, better looking then most.

I never bought into the whole Harry Potter hype. My dad read the first book to me when I was like 9. Even then I wasn't interested at all. I'm not into young-adult type books. Idk, they seem to come off as an immature style of writing. Now just because I don't like her books doesn't mean I'll discount what JK Rowling has achieved. She went from a welfare bum to almost a net worth of a billion dollars in just ten years, and wrote the best selling series, and produced some of the highest grossing films of all time. Like others have mentioned, she got a whole generation into reading (and not just her books). This lady just seems like an underachieving ass hat who'll never reach Rowling's level of success, so she bitches and complains. I hope Rowling is laughing at this lady in her Ferrari as she heads to the bank.

How did he insult either group? He basically said young guys get horny easily and like to have sex on a whim. Well, if you have ever spent a day in reality you know that is true. Its nothing to be ashamed of either, it is just how younger guys are biologically programed. I can't speak for the accuracy of the older crowd comment, but I have a feeling that Dave is probably right. Again, its nothing to be ashamed about either.

I kinda feel bad for him. He'll have all this hype around him, and people will expect him I think to suddenly become a super star. He's basically been a bench-warmer most of his career.
