Well, not in my fridge but I remember back in my Cub Scout days we used to do a food drive right before Thanksgiving. In 2002, I remember finding something dated for expiration in 1991. I wish I could remember what is was, some kind of food that took a while to expire in the first place, so it was probably from the mid-80s.

Coming out is hard because theres always that chance you will disappoint, anger, and/or let down those you care about. It is especially difficult if those people you care about have expectations for what you should do and what you should accomplish, and being gay has the possibility to interfere with that. When I was in high school, it was expected of me to play football. It wasn't really much of a choice, it was just something I did. The last place anyone wants to be gay is on a football team. Combine the general homophobia of the sport with the small minded, redneck attitude of the dominant personalities on the team, and I wasn't about to come out. Coming out would have basically destroyed any chance of playing any more, and not playing would have been letting down my parents, other family members, friends, and coaches. Back then, I would have rather been miserable and upheld other people's wants and expectations then do what I really wanted to do. I would have rather quit football, gotten out of that toxic environment, and have gone and done my own thing, but I didn't and I suffered for that choice. Why? All to uphold someone else's version of myself, instead of my own. Its a mistake I'll never make again. Its all about the fear of disappointing because of our pack mentality. Its why effeminate, obviously gay guys have it easier despite being harassed more. Nobody has expectations for them, so if they act that way nobody really cares because everyone expects it. If they don't, well no big deal, he's finally starting to act "like a real man". Masculine gay guys who aren't obvious don't have that luxury of "acting up to the standard", because they are already perceived to be at the "straight masculine standard" and anything other than that is considered lowering yourself by many. So guys like me have no other choice, at least in our teenage years, other than to uphold "the standard" even if it makes us miserable because anything else would be a let down.

Nothing guarantees future regret like getting a fad tattoo. I remember when people got all those Japanese lettering tattoos, and many were not even what they thought they were. And you're right about tattoos being popular. In my college gym, guys who don't have some kind of ink on them are actually in the minority now from my observations.

I have a large one on my left arm that runs from my shoulder to almost about the crook of my arm. I thought out what I wanted for a long time, and spent hours researching good places to get it done. I can say I love it and don't regret it one bit because of the meaning it holds to me, and how well the final product came out. I want to get one or two more but I'm not quite willing to spend the money to get it done right at the moment. Although I'll always put my tattoos in places where they can be easily covered by everyday wear clothes, because like Mark said, there is still a lot of stigma attached to visible tattoos. Also, tattoos only look good on guys with a decent build. If you aren't in shape and/or have decent muscle, imo they just don't look good.

Make a Grindr or Jack'd account.....

I like different length haircuts, but this is just too much of a difference. For some reason it makes me think of a haircut a black woman or a lesbian would get. Not attractive on a dude at all.

Dude, where have you been??? This stuff has been around forever.

Well its not really a regional tradition, but my family always goes to midnight mass every year.

-Lots of checks/cash and gift cards to Amazon, Macy's, Cheesecake Factory and Visa Prepaids -A jacket, a pair of jeans, and a pair of shoes -New Bruins and Patriots car decals because my old ones faded really quickly. -A bottle of Absolut Vodka (my favorite) ...and a pretty fat deposit into my college tuition account. All in all, I made out really well, although its never as exciting as when your a little kid and you get boxes upon boxes of toys.

Beer is for wimps. Real men drink...

Sam Adams isn't horrible by beer standards, and living in New England you can't escape it. Than know you are lucky that Natty hasn't infected Texas yet.

Only in North and South Dakota can you get a driver's license at 14 1/2. And who the hell lives in those two states anyway. The vast majority of states require you to be 15-15.5 to get a learners permit, 16-17 to get a restricted license, and 18-21 to get an unrestricted license. Why North and South Dakota allows 14 year olds to drive cars is beyond me, but its not really a big impact because more people live in my city than in those two states combined. Surprisingly my home state requires a lot to get a license. To get my license at 16 I had to... Thirty (30) hours of classroom instruction with a certified driver education instructor Ten (10) hours of practice driving with a certified driver education instructor Six (6) hours of driving observation with a certified driver education instructor In addition to the above, each student must log forty (40) additional hours of supervised driving time with a parent, guardian or other responsible adult. Ten (10) hours of the additional driving practice must be completed at night. And then I had to go pass a Department of Motor Vehicles driving test. And all of my driving restrictions weren't removed until I turned 18. Most states do not give licenses to people under 16 simply because its stupid to do so.

I'm wondering how you made it through 4 years of college without ever drinking a Natty.

You've obviously never had Natty than.

So you don't agree with animals being raised on farms for slaughter? Because that is 95% of the meat you are eating you know. It would be totally impractical to try to feed the world off hunting wild animals. Also, you can easily take down a big game animal with one shot. Its all about the caliber of the bullet you choose. You aren't going to go hunting moose with a .22 because it won't do a thing to something as big and powerful as a moose. Your going to go out with something like a .308 or .338, which has more than enough stopping power to take down a moose. You aim for the money shot, which is an area right behind the front leg that it will pierce all the major organs and kill it very quickly. Head shots are totally impractical. They are very hard to hit, and theres a good chance you'll miss altogether or end up grazing it and taking the animal's face off while not killing it. Trust me, I've seen a deer with half its face blown off but it was still alive and it was a nasty, sad sight.

Dear god Zombie, you don't mean to say that politicians and prosecutors should call for economy-ruining bankers to be brought up on criminal charges! If they all go to jail, who would fund the politicians and prosecutors reelection campaigns?!?!?!

A blind justice system is a utopian fantasy. It has never been true anywhere in the world, nor will it ever be.

The humor in this thread isn't wondering what kind of car he was driving, but the fact that people are actually shocked and surprised a rich, white kid got off with basically a slap on the wrist for manslaughter.

Guns and hunting were a part of the normal culture where I grew up. My dad took me out hunting when I was 10 years old, and I killed my first deer at 11. I went out hunting almost every season from when I was in 5th grade till I graduated high school. I took a few more bucks over the years and it never bothered me because I was taught that they were a food source. No need to get all emotional over your dinner. I also worked on a turkey farm every weekend before Thanksgiving during middle and high school. The way we slaughtered turkeys there was we went into a pen, grabbed it by the legs and swung it upside down, brought it to the stump and stretched its neck out, and in one swift cut the head came off. It never bothered me either watching this process or doing it myself, because they were born and raised for the sole purpose of being slaughtered for food. Living in the city now, people are totally amazed and grossed out when I tell them about my hunting and turkey farm days. They seem surprised that the burger they buy at the store or eat at a restaurant was actually living at one point and had to be slaughtered for consumption. Its as if they think it just appears out of nowhere. SMH. I love meat and its an essential part of my diet, and I never understand why people go vegetarian to "save the animals" or something stupid like that.

I've never heard of this guy until today, but apparently he was a total badass playboy in his day, or so my dad tells me.

Why do people hate Christmas Shoes so much?
TetRefine commented on W_L's blog entry in Life is worth an entry
Here's the thing. At face value, its a sad, depressing song. But when you think about it, it was written purposefully to make you sad and play with your emotions so you'd buy it and the people who made it will made mad $$$$$$. It was written for the sole purpose of making money. Its so ridiculously over-the-top corny that I can't help but crack up whenever I hear it. Also, this. -
I did Taekwando for a couple years when I was younger, and earned my yellow belt. But I quit because back then I'd rather of played baseball and the two conflicted schedule-wise. I wish I'd stuck with it though.

Ugh, if the Pats keep barely winning against sub-par teams like Cleveland and Houston, we're doomed for the playoffs. I thought Mississippi was Saints territory?

I hate my younger brother. He's a selfish, backstabbing, self-centered piece of shit who I wish I could negate all biological ties to. I haven't spoken a word to him in 3 1/2 years, and I sure don't plan on ending that streak come this Christmas. Unfortunately he's the only sibling I have, and my parents aren't about to pop out another kid, so its like I don't even have a sibling. I treat my 9 and 6 year old cousins like they are my little brother and sister and care far more about them than I do my biological brother. I also save a ton of money not having to buy him a Christmas gift every year too! So thats always a bonus.
