Yea and since GA isn't a rapidly changing subject from the day-to-day it wouldn't be that intensive or difficult to maintain. I'm fairly Wiki savvy as I use it all the time, but I'm sure there are people on here far more techno/Wiki savvy then I am who be best qualified to create and maintain it.

So GA doesn't have a Wikipedia page. Wouldn't it be worth creating at least a small Gay Authors page there, considering its the #6 most trafficked site on the web? And it's free...... Just a thought.

I don't believe in the concept of soul mates no matter who they are. But I met my boyfriend right on this site 4 years ago. We started talking in chat, then moving to private chat, then eventually met up about a month and a half later, and 4 years later we are still together. Of course I never tell people in real life that I met my boyfriend online cause they'll give you the 'WTF' look. So I tell them we met through mutual friends, which doesn't make sense because we grew up going to different schools in different states more then 2 1/2 hours apart from each other. But none so far have asked questions so it works, for now. Its kinda funny because we come from entirely different backgrounds, yet we still somehow work out. I come from an all-white, conservative family and my family came to America well over 100 years ago. I grew up in a rural-ish area that is pretty non-involved with anything significant in the world and people are pretty backwards. He's Latino and was born in a major city in South America, came to the US when he was 9, learned English, lived in a large suburb of New York City, speaks Spanish at home, and is a raging liberal. Yeah, go figure.

I worked in a Target warehouse, and when we got bored or things were slow we'd go into the book storage unit, pick up 50 Shades of Grey, and my boss would do a hilariously sarcastic reading of a randomly opened page. How anyone can take that book seriously is beyond me. Also, Jamie Dornan is so generic. *yawn*

Its true though. Except for a couple little pockets, everything outside Philadelphia and Pittsburg is pretty conservative, especially in coal country in the north-central region.

I doubt Pennsylvania will come around any time soon. While Metro Philadelphia and Metro Pittsburg are forward thinking areas, the rest of the state is blue-collar, backwards rednecks. Unfortunately Philadelphia and Pittsburg can't outvote the entire rest of the state.

Well considering professional baseball leagues in other countries would be consider minor leagues at best in the US, I think its safe to say that whoever wins the World Series would have no problem defeating any other country's champion.

I never experienced any of the shit James went through, luckily, but I've witnessed and experienced a few instances of blatant homophobia in my short 21 years. The first one that really sticks out in my mind is my sophomore year of high school. I grew up in a small, rural suburb in New Hampshire. Now you'd think being in New England, it would be very accepting of LGBT people, but ignorance is very common outside the major cities of the Northeast. There was this one kid on our football team, and my sophomore year he came out as bisexual. Why he thought that was a good idea I'll never know, but it happened. This kid was also a bit socially awkward which only fed the fire that was to come. Once it became known he was bisexual, the harassment came full bore and never let up from all directions. Guys would snap him in the ass with wet towels in the locker room, called him a fag, and actively shun him at team dinners, on bus rides to and from games, and hanging out on weekends. I felt so bad for him, but I was so scared of being labeled a homo if I stood up for him that I did nothing and ignored it. The crazy thing is, he stuck it out that year, his junior year, and his senior year, and went on to get into MIT where he's already graduated and last I heard had gotten a job with Oracle. Now you'd think that because it was New England this shit wouldn't happen, but it was commonplace there and still is. The other instance that really sticks out in my mind happened a couple weeks ago. My boyfriend and I had gone out to dinner in Philadelphia and decided to walk afterwards. We ended up sitting down in a park in the Rittenhouse Square neighborhood, which is right next to the Gayborhood in Center City, Philadelphia. Like the 20 or so other couples in the park, we were just sitting on a bench talking and holding hands. This older black guy walks by us slowly and glares at us with a death stare making it obvious he disapproves of us being gay. When I realized what he was doing I gave him an equally hard death stare right back until he looked away. When we left the park 20 minutes later he was standing by the entrance and shouted something about how gay people are all sinners and are going to hell. I ignored him. My point is, these two stories took place in one of the most tolerant and accepting places in the United States, so it can happen anywhere. This crap isn't just limited to the backcountry South or rural Midwest.

Biggest bullshit call in the Jets/Pats game yesterday.

During Christmas time, there is no place like New York. I go every year and it still amazes me after countless trips. DC is another must just to see all the monuments and buildings. Philadelphia is also another really cool place during the Christmas time. Lots of good shopping on Walnut Street, plus you can visit Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, etc in Old City and get a Cheesesteak at Pat's in South Philly. Boston is neat, but is kind of underwhelming in my opinion compared to NYC, Philly, and DC.

I don't really get why Asians get written off in the gay world, especially the bar/club scene. I understand the old guys and fat guys, but why Asians? I have run into and had some fun with a couple of very attractive Asian guys who blow the supposed "pretty white boys" out of the water. Maybe I just got so bored of white people growing up that I prefer to branch out. But can anyone explain to me why they think Asians are so marginalized in the gay world? I have my theories but I'm curious as to what others have to say. I hope I don't derail the thread from the story. Sorry if I do, lol.

It starts with voting Obama, Reid, Pelosi, Boehner, Cantor, Graham, McCain, Boxer, and the rest of the big-government clown show that is DC. Then once the two party grip is broken, we elect Libertarians who actually know how to read the Constitution and will protect civil liberties. Not that that is realistic because Republican and especially Democratic voters seem to have their heads so far up their ass in regards to hypocrisy between what they preach and what they practice.

My home state of New Hampshire got cross-country skiing. That seems pretty fitting, as we have a ton of alpine/XC ski mountains around up there. I don't understand Pennsylvania getting field hockey. Around the city here I don't think its that popular. But maybe its more a suburban thing or more popular in the central and western part of the state?
