  1. Well I've only had one car that was officially mine. I got it over the summer. A 2012 VW Jetta. Of course mine didn't look as sleek or sexy as the showroom quality one. My dream car would have to be the Audi R8.
  2. Weird, I was in mostly the same places. I spent time in Buenos Aires, then took a bus ride up to Iguazu Falls, and San Ignacio. We crossed on the SeaCat over to Colonia for a couple hours just so I could say I've been to Uruguay. And I was in Sao Paulo overnight on my trip back to the States. Just out of curiousity, since you crossed into Brazil on foot at Iguazu, did you do it illegally? I heard a lot of people do it just because its not really patrolled as long as you don't go too far in.
  3. I guess I'm the only one so far who's been to South America. Edit: Never mind, Bleu went too.
  4. Well technically it was its own country for a while.
  5. How many countries have you been to in your lifetime (including your home country)? For me: -The United States -Canada -The Bahamas -British Virgin Islands (so technically the United Kingdom ) -Brazil -Argentina -Uruguay
  6. I bet she bitched you out real good for that one.
  7. I think an important question to ask is: If you weren't outed would you be out to your teammates? And would you feel comfortable being so? I remember my four years of playing high school football (I'm a junior in college now and no longer play competitively), and my overriding fear was being outed. The type of guys I had as teammates would have run me out of the locker room in a second if they found out, despite the fact that I was a three year varsity player and started for the last two. The amount of homophobic vitriol spewed by everyone in the locker room was just nauseating. I can honestly say that my football career would have gone out the window if they had known. But I recognize that each situation is different and every team dynamic is unique. I'm just always interested to hear the experiences of other gay athletes whether they were/are out or not.
  8. Lincoln, by Steven Spielberg. The last major civil war era-movie, Gods and Generals, fell flat on its sorry ass, so hopefully this one is much better.
  9. Maybe a few are accepting, but the majority of football players (and athletes in general) remain overwhelmingly homophobic or at least not accepting. The locker room for most teams is the last place you want to be openly gay in.
  10. I'm kind of pissed I missed my first "major" earthquake. I had just landed back in Philly, and as I'm walking through the terminal I get a call from my mom saying they just went through an earthquake.
  11. I find women attractive, but in a objective way. I don't really find them sexually attractive, although sometimes I wonder what I'm missing by not having ever had sex with a girl...until I look at this picture and realize I have all that I want in a guy. To me, thats about as aesthetically pleasing as they come.
  12. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
  13. Thats why they invented Invisilign braces.
  14. Its kinda interesting. My dad traveled quite extensively throughout Europe as a kid in the late 60s and 70s, and collected bills and coins from all 10 or so countries he visited. He gave them to me when I was about 7 or so, and I brought them in for show and tell (circa 1999) at school. Back then they were still legal tender and could be used. Now, 13 years later its all extinct currency and technically worthless. Damn, now I feel old.
  15. They played Psy doing the Gangnam Style dance on the jumbotron at the Phillies game last night. Everyone under the age of 30 in the stadium was doing it. Classic moment.
  16. Definitely a sports guy. I grew up in a household where "artsy stuff" wasn't really encouraged, but playing sports most definitely was. Both my brother and I were three sport athletes until high school, and my parents were always encouraging us to play or practice. I grew up going to Mets, Red Sox, Bruins, and Patriots game so sports has always just been such a natural thing to me. Besides, I became a pretty good athlete but I was never much of a writer and certainly am no artist. So yeah, athlete.
  17. Until the horrible set of referees actually hurts the wallets of the NFL and owners, they won't do a damn thing about it. Think about it. If the replacements continue to do a disastrous job, are many of us going to stop watching the games on tv, stop buying tickets, merchandise, etc? Probably not. Until it becomes financially necessary to bring back the real refs, they'll continue with this disaster because their wallets are being lined either way.
  18. When two of my roommates get drunk, they put this video on and dance to it...every...single...time.
  19. I'm sure, but in general Hispanic/Latino cultures tend to not be so gay-friendly. And sports culture is certainly not gay-friendly, so if you combine the two, well.
  20. If you rewrite Wall Street into a novel with gay characters, I'll definitely read it. Make Gordon Gekko a closet case and Bud Fox his secret lover? That could be interesting.
  21. Of course they had nicknames (ones I won't repeat here ). But they were not anything that could be misconstrued and be used to ostracize me and make me feel different in a negative way. Gaybies just seems derogatory and unnecessarily places a label on a child who doesn't have the first clue about what it means. Maybe I'm just more of a straight-world assimilationist (if there even is such a thing), but theres no need to differentiate between babies/kids raised by straight people and those raised by gay people. It only furthers the thought process that were separate and don't want to be fully part of the mainstream world.
  22. He's Hispanic and an athlete. Those two things combined are usually going to produce someone who isn't exactly gay-friendly.
  23. Sorry, but "gaybies" has to be the dumbest name I've ever heard babies called. So if a baby is adopted or birthed by a same-sex couple, does that make it any different from one adopted or birthed by heterosexual couples? I'm no science major, but I'm pretty sure a baby is a baby regardless of who brings it into the world. Calling them "gaybies" only cements the stereotype that children raised by same sex partners are somehow different and less "normal" then those raised by straight parents. *facepalms* Now, would I want a BABY? Possibly, but not until I felt like I've lived a while. I want to continue traveling the world, and be able to go out on a Friday night till 4 in the morning without trying to find a place for the kid to stay. Once I get tired of living the good life will I consider having a kid. But not until I'm past 30 and have a decent financial standing. Traveling and going out every weekend costs money, and kids cost loads of money. Some of my friends from high school had kids right after graduating, and they've pretty much screwed themselves into being poor for the next 25+ years. I've spent a lot of time working with kids over the past 8 years and I love them, but its always nice to be able to hand them off to their parents after a while.
  24. North Face jackets seem to be the fashion symbol of East Coast middle and upper class suburban white kids. I seem them all over campus once the weather starts to chill. I admit, its one of the most frequently used pieces of clothes I own.
