  1. Did you catch Monday's blog featuring this month's Classic Author ad choice, K.C.'s Pour Me Another, selected by JayT? If not, go check it out and get your copy of a small graphic that you can use for your personal signature if you want to share the love for K.C.'s story. With well over a thousand comments on the story, it was hard to pick just 3 to feature, but today's feature also shares JayT's favorite excerpt from the story and why he picked it. Read on to find out what it is! JayT said: This story is about love overcoming seemingly impossible obstacles, such as the person who is in love with you is straight. Or at least he thought so, and that is why I love this story. This excerpt takes place after Michael, the straight man, realizes he has feelings for Asher, the gay man. After showing up at Asher's in the middle of the night, he finally kisses Asher, only to discover that Asher was not alone when a naked man walks out of the bedroom. A heartbroken Michael then turns and runs away. This part of the story shows us how lost and hopeless Michael's life became after he decided to cut Asher out. When Michael learns that Asher was possibly shot, he drops everything and leaves work to seek out answers. Hopefully, he will find Asher alive and safe. This story shows that anyone can fall in love with anyone. It's the person we fall for, not their sex. To read more, check out the rest of the story here.
  2. That's great! These features are intended to do just that, especially since there are a lot of really good stories by Classic authors who were once active on the site but aren't anymore, so they don't get noticed in the queues or lists.
  3. The 'not content creation devices' isn't our belief as in we don't think people write on those devices, it's simply that the programming on websites that accept text just doesn't work well with the way mobile devices format things. While more and more people are shifting from computers to tablets or phones as their primary internet device, technology for that sort of thing just hasn't caught up. The current work is still focused making everything on the site compatible just for viewing, much less anything else. I don't use Scrivener, but I do know if you copy and paste your text into the editor and use the link that appears below to remove the formatting, you'll end up with properly spaced text. Yes, you do have to go through and add back any bold/italics, but it takes away a lot of the issues.
  4. This month's Classic Author feature, Pour Me Another by K.C., was chosen for readers by JayT. Have you read this popular story that was chosen as one of the Reader's Choice Awards in 2013? Length: 72,802 Description: ***Winner of the 2013 Readers Choice Awards for the Best Story by a Promising Author *** The city is full of all kinds of people. Being a bartender, Asher Burkhart has seen them all. Atleast he thinks has until Michael Waters shows up. Some Readers Said: If you want to spread the word about K.C.'s story, download the graphic below and add it to your signature! Make sure you come back on Wednesday to see the excerpt JayT chose to share!
  5. Got it. We'll keep an eye on that and look into it.
  6. Hi Gary. I just checked that chapter, and I see where it says 14 people reacted and there are 14 actual likes. I'm not sure where or when it said there were 7. Thank you for the report on the followers numbers; we'll look into that.
  7. Favorite Authors & Stories will be replaced with the Reading Lists that we've talked about with the next Stories upgrade. These lists will allow you to save what you've read, want to read, want everyone else to know you're reading, etc... I do not know if the ability to list your personal beta readers/editors is being axed because it's simply not a feature being supported anymore along with the favorites, or if that is something we can replace or reset the back end settings to show again.

Always good to ask if you're not sure because it helps someone else who might not have the courage to speak up but has the same question!

I believe you're seeing posts because you're part of the club, so of course it would track and show you the activity of an area you have 'permissions' for because that's the purpose of the All Activity option. Even if it says "All Activity" you're not seeing everything that happens all over the site. For instance, members wouldn't be aware of the post I made to alert site staff to my new schedule coming up for my job starting on the 30th, but my status update talking about it would show up for general members. That's because of where I made the posts and who is and isn't allowed to see those areas/features of the site. Just as a confirmation, I'm part of the Writer's Circle so I can see those posts, but I haven't yet joined The Pit, and I can't see a single post from the pit while I browse the 'All Activity list', no matter how far I go back (even as a staff member). I know Myr would have started a welcome/purpose of The Pit topic in there.
  10. Glad you had a great birthday, Bill! Here's to many more!!

  12. Thanks for the comments, everyone! I agree, there does need to be more time. As fast and furious as mating can be, Ritch is fragile and Park is actually taking that into consideration. That, and sex with a broken leg is just no fun. LOL @Geemeedee I didn't even think about the teeth, lol. Maybe we'll pretend he did it and I just glossed over it. @glennish I think he's getting just as protective of Park as Park is of him, and Park got really hurt. That puts a damper on the libido, for sure.
  13. Awww, my favorite care bear(s)--you included! Thanks! LOL!! Does that mean I get Scooby snacks? Hilarious, because I bought a box of bagged snacks at Costco earlier, and they actually have "Scooby Snacks" that are graham cracker treats in it! Thank you, Myr!
  14. You would, and you wouldn't be! Thank you, Emi! Thanks, Gary!! Thank you, DDK!
  15. Thank you! Thank you, Bill & Aditus! No such luck for taking the day off because I had a job interview and errands, but it has been a pretty darn good day! Daughter gave me chocolates and the hubby came home with a chocolate fudge cake--they get me! Aww, thank you, lilansui. That's a nice sentiment. Very colorful, Drew! Thank you!
  16. Very cute! And so elaborate to make! (I buy mine at the store, lol!) Thank you, Puppi! Thanks, LitLover! Thank you, Reader!

  18. As much as I wanted naked and wet time to lead to something more, my body was totally against me. The pain was building and that throbbing pulse was almost all I could feel, even with Ritch’s soapy hands sliding down my body. “I’m sorry,” I muttered. “What? Why?” He looked up at me, literally on his knees at my feet, his head the perfect height. And nothing. I waved hand toward my groin with the hand that wasn’t bracing me on the wall. “It’s not you.” Ritch’s hair was slicked

  20. Confirmed on a laptop & Edge/Chrome and a mobile phone with Chrome. I'm sure Myr will have something to share, but I don't know if this is a tech issue, a skin issue, or a settings issue.
  21. Happy Birthday, Caz!!!
  22. Ouch! I hope your cheekbone is feeling better. Good luck on the flow! A few things: "he seriously doubted its ability to carry his 6’3”, 100kg frame." What's up with the mix of measurements? US uses feet and inches but we don't use kg for weight, we use pounds. You're mixing this up and it needs to be consistent to where the characters live. Remember, if being used as names, "Mum/Dad" need to be capitalized. If it's my mum/my dad, then it's a description and not capitalized. POV characters, even in third person, need to be the voice you share the story through. Such as this line: "His attention returned to the wooden frame, as he inspected it more closely." You wouldn't think "my attention returned" so you can't do that with a third person POV character's perceptions either. Otherwise it comes over as author/narrator voice.
  23. Did he? Quiet, lots and lots of quiet... or maybe not so quiet. Ritch strikes me as a noisy one. LOL I'm guessing he would indeed! Good thing werekin heal pretty fast!
  24. I'm a redhead... Incandescent and rage kind of go hand in hand. LOL
  25. You work to live, not live to work. It seems like company #1 and #2 are extremely shady--and I wonder how many employees they've done this to. Convenient how they've been able to knock things down to part-time only for multiple people instead of one cohesive position. I'd do the best job you can in the time you have, and spend the rest of the time looking for a new job with a company not performing any sleight of hand when it comes to job benefits and security.
