Aaaaw. In all good tales the hero arrives in time to free the damsel in distress from the oncoming train or circular saw.....( Ooops ! sorry I am a century too early).... Aaaaw. In all good tales the hero arrives in time to free the damsel in distress from the dastardly clutches of the villainous knife-wielding fork!!! Hooray! ( ASIDE. Is there a gay equivalent of damsel? No matter. Timothy is to me a damsel in distress.)

"oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive". Owen's salvation if there is to be one with Ryder is to try to communicate with him. Sadly if Ryder does not want this and Owen cannot find a way then Owen must move on and consider this as part of growing up. We all grow stronger when we take life's lessons to heart. However, perhaps our writer can provide us with a continuation which will provide us with Ryder's story. And fate has a way of bringing people together.

I dont think this reaction was totally unexpected. Both have not revealed anything in their texting. It is impossible to learn everything or indeed anything in such a short space of time. Yes WE know about Owen because he is the narrator. Ryder remains a mystery to us and to Owen.

Very brave step for Owen. Now to find out who Ryder is and what he wants of Owen.

"No Time But Eternity" (Part 1)
sandeman commented on CasualWanderer82's story chapter in "No Time But Eternity" (Part 1)
I choose from this beautiful chapter just " There's somewhere the dark stops". And still I weep. -
Timothy is learning the hard way what it is to be a cake. Forks can smell his pheromones. Oliver must take more care of his cake and Timothy must now let Oliver be more protective. I have just consumed a piece of lemon cake with my coffee and I can vouch for its tastiness.!

Great development of the story. A marriage of true minds and of bodies.

Ryder sounds like an empathetic guy, who is offering Owen something he cannot get from his family ,understa ding and acceptance of what he is. A young man trying to find himself, and he is curious. He is about to throw caution to the wind. But curiosity killed the cat as the saying goes.

“The Devil’s at the Door”
sandeman commented on CasualWanderer82's story chapter in “The Devil’s at the Door”
I keep coming back in wonderment to read your preface to this chapter, seeking to understand more these two protagonists. Such deep hurt makes me weep. I made a plea not to forget forgiveness. But who is the one to ask for forgiveness? The creator or his creation? Who of the two bears the most responsibilty for what has taken place? I am no poet so need to quote others. From a poem by Sophie Slosarczyk. " .... I forgive myself for holding on so much It's not actually you at all For I forgave you the second it happened It's me who I need to forgive Me who holds on too tight Hoping forever that you'll change Knowing deep down, you really won't." . -

“The Devil’s at the Door”
sandeman commented on CasualWanderer82's story chapter in “The Devil’s at the Door”
You have surprised me yet again!. I had thought the conclusion close. But then again the master of lies , the trickster, fights another round!! (As indeed you do). I enjoyed the beautiful preface to this chapter, the dialogue between the Creator and the Morningstar, also called Lucifer the 'Light Bringer', the Firstborn. " I was loved .......You were." Please let there still be forgiveness. -
Now comes the final battle. Light must triumph over darkness, goodness over evil, love over hatred ; or else there is no real meaning to life. Or sacrifice, even unto death.

Owen has led a sheltered life, still undeveloped but seeking. Ryder is obviously more mature but appears to be more troubled. Can it be that each can give the other what they need in life and love ?

An Inquiry into Appetite
sandeman commented on Invnarcel's story chapter in An Inquiry into Appetite
And how will Timothy fare in Camulod? A larger community than he is used to. Surely more predatory forks who will find him more than attractive? Can Oliver keep him close? Does he want to? -
The mores of the time demanded a strict observance of what was the received and accepted ' proper' ways of engagement. It would not always be acceptable for one young man essentially living alone to receive very frequent visits from another younger man. Especially in small town society where everone of import knew one another. Interesting development.

Frank is a man of his word ; as well as deeds. A delightful interlude. What next?

The saddest thing in this chapter was the last sentence. But we have all "put on faces" to cope with life. It's moving on and how we do it that matters; not the faces we've used and discarded along the way. Owen will find his own way to acceptance and love. A great story in the making.

Devin's light is the brightness of a divinity, enfolding, encompassing, embracing. The beautiful flashback illuminates the purity of the love Luka had/has for Devin in all his innocence. Now Devin's light is rekindling and reinforcing that pure love fighting to free itself from the control of the darkness that is the soul of Theron.

The Future Alpha of Whiteflame
sandeman commented on Laura S. Fox's story chapter in The Future Alpha of Whiteflame
Is splitting our heroes an attempt by their enemy to divide and conquer? Have Vince and Jack (bless him) really acquired helpmeets? Has Theo finally conquered his fears? Tune in next time for a further thrilling episode .... of a great adventure! -
Owen dips his toes into the app. Cole might be the one now or later. But as the saying goes 'One swallow does not make a Summer'.

Gentle kisses and declarations of love. Oliver's revelations show him having experienced more than exchanging kisses! Timothy anxious about Oliver leaving but trusting he will find a way of keeping them together still maintaining the propriety necessary to protect their families' reputations. Great story.

Erotic and funny. Is not this the way condoms have always been tested?

Well !well! Loving how the narrative is developing ; how Frank's gentler(?) side is being brought out; and the team growth and acceptance of the two men's relationship. Should we now expect some startling revelations about Marc?
