    Fast updates! As Cia said, good buildup and I like the group of friends Xander has made so far. Just one thing... Vermont wasn't one of the original 13 colonies. It was part of New York.

    Hm. Interesting story. Just a few points. CPS in Vermont is DCF (Department of Family Services) also why the hell aren't Conner and Xander reporting that assault? Vermont has really good anti-hate crimes laws. Aside for that, compelling and interesting. Thanks for writing!

    Great chapter. I'm really glad Derek's mom is forcing him to go to therapy. Hopefully Derek decides that it's a good idea on his own and really takes advantage of it. Luke as always is an idiot and I hope he dies. Hopefully Derek's mom can advocate for him if Derek can summon the guts to explain that he suffered from another black-out. He needs to see someone sooner rather than later.

    I was really looking forward to this chapter and you definitely didn't disappoint. I was surprised that Micah's "dad" actually had a semi-good excuse to find him on his birthday and I hope he's out of their lives for good. It looks like that will happen in the future. For future chapters I'm worried about that asshole principal and the jock bullies as well as Micah and Patrick's relationship. I keep seeing more and more evidence that they care for each other (and I know I want them to be together) but you keep teasing us. Finally, about Joel. The raw emotion of the story from Joel's oral breakthrough to Micah's rant against his father was incredibly powerful. Thank you for writing it. Keep it up, and I'm looking forward to next week!

    Interesting story so far but I'd like to add my two cents about the future- Gabriel has issues but I don't want him to end up with Orion. Hopefull Gabe can help Orion change while still keeping Tristan as his guardian. His entire pack was decimated and they need the power Gabriel will be able to offer. Maybe the two remaining packs can merge? I like how Orion has always taken in strays. Also Scott needs to die. Horribly. Finally there are a few really glaring grammar errors in this story that made it difficult to read at times. Have you tried to find an editor? Keep it up! And thanks

    Speechless. This was on par with many of the best science fiction and fantasy novels out there. Jordan, Brooks, Lewis, L'Engle, etc. (you'll forgive me for not adding Tolkien. He's the father of it all) Thank you. I am in awe.

    This story touched my emotions in an amazing way. I have only cried reading a handful of stories on the internet. This is one of them. Thank you for sharing it. The advocacy for the developmentally challenged here is incredibly admirable.

    Saw this on nifty and spent way to much time reading the other chapters. Great great story. Please keep it up. This is one of the most original and fascinating story lines I have come across. The Micah is extremely believable and I want him to grow and succeed through future chapters. Thank you for sharing.

    This was a troubling chapter and I have faith that you promised us a happy ending (eventually) but at this point in my the story it's official. I hate Derek. He's oblivious, easily manipulated, he refuses to take responsibility, he's going to plan something terrible in the future and oh yes, he's so far in the closet the dust bunnies complain about cleaning up Derek bunnies in their closets. It's going to take major work to make him even a little likable again. That said, great chapter and take your time with the updates. We can wait. (But if you write the next chapter on time I won't complain.)

    Derek's response to Becca's observations was really troubling. It seems like some deep trauma happened with his father when he was younger. Time will tell what it is.

    Derrick is certainly a complicated character and he wasn't doing his reputation or his relationship with Charlie any favors with the expletives he through in this chapter. I agree with the other reviewers. He's been detestable so far but you've done a good job laying the foundations for hatred from Derek's father and other people. I think I see where you're heading and the hints you've laid down earlier on in the story.

You hear horror stories about hazing, bullying, homophobia, racism, classism, sexism and everything else reprehensible to the civilized world, but I didn’t experience much of it. Burlington, Vermont is a liberal city. Most kids’ parents and the school administration won’t tolerate that shit. I knew there were gay kids in school but I kept my distance.
