    Chapter 1

Hello, Andr0gene: I've read everything of yours, and I will continue to do so, why? Quite simply because your writing is addictive. I love the train of consciousness of your characters and the tension that is always nicely set up in your stories. In this story, in particular, I loved the chess game that is threaded subtly in the background, and I love the slow build up to realizing they two loved each other! I've left you messages on your e-dicussion forum with a couple of points I thought about for constructive crit, but even without any changes this really rocks! Yeah, it's so

    A Hopeless Case

A Hopeless Case “Can’t believe Gina’s really here.” Benny looked at the arrivals screen at Dunedin Airport. “Well almost here. Thanks for playing Chauffeur.” “Oh, is that all I’m here for?” James huffed, but it was compromised by a small quirking of his lip. Benny butted into his side. “You know that’s not the case.” This was James. His best friend—he’d written and talked to Gina about him for years. Now she’d finally get to meet him in person. She’d love him. Gina gave a high pitched sq
  3. Tortured Something Senseless Dinner felt longer than the damn movie. Benny chucked some cash onto the table. He was tossing up between the need to retch at having to endure a touchy-feely Heath and Lucy and the desire to race to his friend’s apartment. To, ah, see how his date went. Maybe in the hopes of checking the guy out. Benny grinned. Just who was James smitten for? “Yeah. I had a great time.” Not. Well, ogling Heath did have some upsides. Still, he wasn’t sure the hollowness that cam
  4. The Unrequited Shit Stings “You have the best taste.” Ben—Benny to those he liked—ripped open his Twix and took a bite. He chewed and swallowed in a rush. Uh—slow down, heartburn. James shuffled higher up the bed. “No. I don’t know much about music at all. Just that you like these guys. So I thought, why not?” “Well it’s the best birthday gift ever.” He couldn’t believe he was twenty-five already. Blinking away a shudder, Benny held half a chocolate stick to James’s mouth. “Eat up. But

    Get It

Unrequited love is a bitch. Sucks you into a narrowly focused world and leaves you blind as a bat to other things...Well, that's what Benny suffers from...
  6. Oh yes, have a fantastic one. Hope you're already out partyin'
  7. LOL, 42 is the answer to life, the universe, and everything, isn't that right? HAPPY BIRTHDAY 42, party hard! And welcome to the 25 club.

    Story

Promise by Anyta Sunday Salt water rushed into my mouth. The sea fought against me, choppy, cold. Treading water, one mile out from the peninsula, I coughed and cleared my lungs. It seemed nothing wanted me to get to the island, the lighthouse, to Lucas. It felt like I’d been at this hours already, but it couldn’t have been more than thirty minutes. I needed to hurry, get there faster in case he left thinking I hadn’t done it. Thinking I didn’t care. Which I couldn’t blame him for.

    Promise

Two boys make a promise, but it might just cost John his life to fulfill it...
  10. WoooHooo, John, you're now over the hill, but at least you aint under it! lol, Just Kidding. 30 is an awesome age, hehe!!! Anyway, have an AWESOME birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thinking of ya
  11. The mom is awesome. I also loved the ninja line, lol. hehe. Thanks for the post.
  12. Happy Birthday, Have a fine day!!!!!
  13. Hey, happy birthday. Cool, I hope you have a blast, and the year treats you well.
  14. I agree with this wholeheartedly. It isn't always easy to accept someone's critical opinion--but, and I cannot stress how much I mean this-- it can help with your writing immensely. But, yes, only honing in on one's mistakes can be disheartening. Still, as someone else mentioned, the fact someone left a review at all means they care somewhat about the story you are writing, and perhaps only wish the best for it. keep going! And you're sooo right, writing is tricky, hard, sweat inducing, but by golly is it fufilling.
  15. Lol. Maybe it's why some girls are super creative??? No, seriously, once a day, though not always through sex.
  16. Oh yes--this is probably a bit late, but thanks so much. Huge work went into making this look and read great. Wonderful.
  17. Have a great day.
  18. I don't know if this really fits in here. But I'll leave something anyway. When I was 15 I fell head over heels for my teacher (who was a woman) I didn't hide it, I didn't really think to. I sorta wore my heart on the sleeve. Well, actually, reflecting on it that was quite embarrassing. Not at the time though. I remember talking to some friends about it, also the school councillor, and my parents. Who all said it was cool if I was gay . In college, I also had some very close friendships with girls that others suspected was more. In that case I'd usually ask them if it would be a problem if we were, and the usual response was to mumble something and shake their heads. Some thought it hot. Others said nothing. Now that I'm married to my hubs people sort of assume I must be straight, and I must admit that I do tend to find guys generally more attractive, but I will quite happily (in fact I make a point of it occasionally) to point out that I also find females attractive--also in a new crowd with people I don't know that well. My hubs is cool with that. And he is quite able to do the same regarding a male he finds hot too. Interesting thread, though.
  19. Love the potter books. Can't wait for the movie!!! Yay.
  20. ROFL! *** Anyta Sunday is my artist's name. I got the idea walking around the area I live in Berlin. The street around the corner is 'Sonntagstraße' (Sundaystreet) and I sorta thought, yeah, why not? And Anyta--I have no idea, but I when I think of girl names, I like ones starting with 'A', also, I think the 'y' is an attractive alphabet letter, hehe. Sweet, Anyta
  21. Okay, I'm just curious at how many people polish the shower after they use it. In our family, after every use of the shower we rid the walls of water and then polish them and the taps until they are shiny. We do this probably 2-3 times a day. In my mind this is pretty normal, but we've recently had guests that thought it odd. What do you do? think?
  22. Hmmmm... My thoughts are often a tangled web. Somedays, I just have difficulty expressing myself simply and to the point. But rambling helps me get there. Depending on the thread, I don't think this matters much (For example, if I'm jotting down my thoughts on Harry Potter verse Twilight). For more serious topics, I can see how this lack of coherency would be frustrating. It's something to watch out for, I guess. Interesting read.
  23. hehehe, that was an interesting read. For me, I like a build up of tension then a slow release physically between the two central characters. The getting to that point (emotionally) is the most important, but in saying that (and depending on the book) if I've waited so long and hoped so much, then I'd be disappointed if there was nothing or a fade out. I'm NOT asking for pages of detailed motions, but come on, a quick gloss over is fun! Besides, in this type of book where it slowly leads up to a bit of sexy stuff why not have it in there? The people who don't like the details can skim. The rest can enjoy it. But not sex, sex, sex--because the tension dies if it's too quickly given up. IM-unprofessional-O.
  24. Okay, I would have to vote Harry Potter. Reason: because they are books I re-read. Twilight was fun (but a bit disappointing with the messages put in there). I wouldn't read them again though. Bella has NO personality what-so-ever. But I guess that's what makes the books work. She could be ANYone. You can stuff your own personality into her and can relate more and the story works. HP though, is in a class of its own.
  25. Just a quick question--why do you want to move to a smaller town? That didn't come across for me in this message. I mean this as in opposed to another city with say, less crime and better schools.
