  1. found this just after a low point in my life and every time I hear it, it can make me quite sad. It's Evanescence with Tourniquet ive also recently just discovered this
  2. You get used to it after a while Meno
  3. I want a time machine so i go back 40 years Sam looking goood!
  4. My profile name means 'false face' (so guess how introvert I am). However, that really applies to real life where I wonder if friends really actually want to hang out with me thats how bad i can get. Being closeted doesnt help me much either! On GA though i am a lot more open, perhaps too much but it is probably because i feel safe here and it is a place to chat to people that can understand me and vice versa as well as read the amazing stories on here.
  5. What an incredible person. His attitude to life is something we can all take on board.
  6. Happy Birthday
  7. Happy Birthday Mike
  8. Genre: Informal Female = 13618 Male = 13568 Difference = -50; 49.9% Verdict: Weak FEMALE Weak emphasis could indicate European. Genre: Formal Female = 7978 Male = 9286 Difference = 1308; 53.78% Verdict: Weak MALE Weak emphasis could indicate European. Of note is about the length of writing you include. I only put 500 words in at first and came up different to when i put the rest of my story
  9. two new members joined while i was away, damn missed you! Anyway very nice to meet you Alexander and Di hope you enjoy your time here
  10. Well I mainly listen to rock and metal and power metal. Fave bands at the moment are 30 Seconds to Mars, Bullet for my Valentine and Altaria. Although recently I have been listening to the dramatic music like Globus, which makes me think of massive battles!
  11. Normally i hold too much hope for a book so read it past where i think 'um this is isnt great'. I almost did that on Kevin. J.Anderson's Saga of Seven Suns series because there was so many subplots that the story moved too slowly but im glad i stuck with it because it got better as the series went on. With the online stories i guess its a case of writing style or if the story isnt what i expected of it. Maybe i should use my hope more online!
  12. Here's a quick pic of me off webcam.
  13. If it is dealing with those type of issues i think i will catch up on internet. The Tonight programme a while ago was very enlightening to people's true tolerance of LGBT persons.
  14. It looks really exciting. I just hope that with the split they can be the closest films to the book. By splitting it they cant make excuses!
  15. Hmm, well ive lived in a town all my life so i got to know concrete well! But if we go anywhere and there is greenery it is very welcome change. Like our Scotland holiday last year
  16. Not intentionally! Just commenting on why I feel that way.
  17. I can only go by what ive read and so far all that ive read have incorporated the sex scenes in a way that allows the reader to share the emotion that has been either building or been flowing throughout the story. So good job! When i first came across this site it wasnt because i was looking for stories with those scenes in it, it was because i wanted to get an idea of the emotion and issues faced and brought up by the authors here. There are plenty of ways to come across sex on the net and elsewhere but to be able to attach emotion to the physical act is what sets stories apart.
  18. I can normally be somewhere in between, but for me it can also depend on the genre or setting. For example I like fantasy writing so i like the writer to convey in detail the world they are trying to build so i can picture clearly the scene. In more modern settings like urban areas or schools, we know what these involve so very little detail is needed. In relation to characters, I would give some details but respect the fact that readers can imagine for themselves via a short description what the character looks like. Even with a long description there would be variation im sure between the images in different reader's eyes. I suppose, personally, that I have an image in my eyes and I want to show the reader exactly what i can see. (But then a re-read and the backspace button comes with a vengence!) When writing I can describe and describe and describe...then come back later and hate what ive written. Its all about balance Ramble over
  19. Well due to the wonders of inheritance it looks like ive developed my dads development of hair! I do like a bit of hair though, feels more natural to me (but thats because ive got enough)
  20. Um, hi everyone this is Agaith nice to be part of the site now!
