    Wow, Frosty! That's living up to your nickname. Tossing someone in a cold shower is - um, well cold. Darryl and Jason for that matter are probably not much less of a light weight than Dean. With their being underage and the zero tolerance for drinking imposed by the coach, they don't get drunk too often. As for D needing help, I am sure he would never turn down the help of a pretty lady - but your virtues are not my responsibility if you volunteer.

    Sometimes there is no reconciliation - some things are too much to forgive and forget, this to me was one of them, despite things not turning out as bad as Jason feared. But Jordan isn't like your best friend, he has/had an ulterior motive in this or so Jason believed.

    It is really hard to write about someone's over powering feelings but you are doing it very well. At the risk of being nosy, is this someone you know, something you study, something you see as part of work? I am curious where you get the information to get Blake's condition down so well. Nine chapters in and nothing remotely close to a pass by Haze on Blake - or at least nothing Blake would ever see as one. Nice work. Andy

    Kevin, Posting it chapter at a time does mess up the time flow. The attack happened on Wednesday, the vigil was Thursday, Mom's visit was Friday and the game was Saturday. This chapter ends on Sunday morning. So about 4 days.

    Jason's embarrassing moment will be reviewed next chapter. And while Darryl ended up letting Dean get drunk knowing Jason didn't really want that, he was careful enough to keep it in house so he wouldn't get in trouble. Like the Chap. Title says, what are best friends for?

    geez now I feel really stupid. Someone actually mentioned to me a while ago - 'did you see how many people were reading XYZ' and I just pretended I knew what they were talking about. Now that it is one site, I am surprised it took this long to break the old record. Next stop - 1000.

    I wish I could say Darryl is a mirror image of one of my best friends, but I moved so much as a teenager I can't point to anyone that I was that close with. Darryl's reaction would have been the same even had they not gotten into that fight but it does help him get his point across to his teammates.

    Chapter 33 is up - Jason leaves Dean with is friends - must be the stress of Peter's injuries for thinking that would be a good idea. Chapter 33: What Are Best Friends For One more chapter after this and we find out more about Peter's status. Next Chapter I will take a quick poll to see what people's thoughts are - Anyta and Frosty you tow can't vote or comment Andy

    Checking the clock for the hundredth time, Jason knew he was getting impatient. They hadn’t been there that long, but he already wanted to go. As much as he liked having Dean around, he wondered if inviting him to stay was a mistake. “Why don’t you go?” Darryl said. “I’ll make sure Dean stays out of trouble.” “I can’t leave him.” Darryl snorted. “C’mon, Jase, you’re so quiet it’s almost as if you’re not even here. He’s doing fine and will continue to do fine if you go see Pete.”

    Dag I was on I-95 that happened so I can't even say 'I was one of them.' And the record wasn't broken by just a little either, it was almost 10% more - pretty cool. Once upon a thought I was going to see about 'organizing' an effort to break that record - i.e. spread the word for everyone who could to log in at such and such a time - then I thought hmm, might tax the system at a time when they are trying to do the transfer, best to let it go. Now we are good for another couple years I suppose

    Actually Sara, it is pretty good. I can't comment on the quality of the photo/image cause I wouldn't know good from bad, but the idea and the lay out is great. Original, but not tacky, not focused on the sexual aspect, I mean what's not to like? Andy

    Trev, Well the idea was to let folks know that Michele knew. Not sure if there is a sixth sense but women and men definitely think about things differently - esp straight men. But what do I know, I am neither straight nor a woman

    Trev, glad you liked this one, This was one of my favorite chapters too, Its one of the few scenes were we see Peter's friends and get a glimpse into his life before Jason. Thanks for all the reviews, I always like to hear what you and others think.

    Yeah until you are out loud and proud so to speak, PDA's are not a good thing, especially when one of the people is in the closet.

    Louis Harris - I believe he might be getting one of his stories made into a movie so that would be an interesting read Kavrik - Just reading his forum post leads me to believe his will be quite the interview Nightowl88 - no real reason other than I enjoy his work.

    Thanks Monty, Thing is at that moment, calling Jason a fag was about the worst way to get him riled up. After the Pool hall incident, if that wasn't going to provoke a fight, this wasn't either. Next up is what happens when Jason leaves his brother in the care and custody of his best friend and teammates oops.

    Two things Trev - 1) Exactly, I didn't think it was irritating but then I am biased and 2) You think Peter's hot? Not blond and not spiky - what gives?? J/K To me Peter is the hotter of the two but what do I know.
