  1. LOL, I agree for the most part, but look at all the delightful jokes, movies, television shows, books, and songs which exploit this euphemism! The entertainment industry would take a major hit without it! Ironically, and perhaps a bit sadly, I don't think I've ever slept with anyone I was sleeping with. Of course part of that is that I don't particularly like share my bed with sleep with doze with anyone. LOL, how about if my contribution is: "Share my bed"
  2. LOL, I didn't realize I was the one spearheading the movement! I tend to agree.
  3. Well, I used to like IM, but over the last couple of years I've pretty much stopped. I only get on messengers for very specific reasons nowadays, and usually only if someone asks me too. Email is an also a phenomenally bad way to reach me!
  4. What did he perform? Any chance of a link?
  5. The plan I have is unlimited. Which means I pay $9.99 a month and it doesn't matter how many or how few texts I send or how long or short they are. I think ten cents a text is pretty standard if you don't have a plan like that though. I believe there is a character limit for that one...not sure what it is though, quite possibly 160. Yes, that is fun to do I can't do that anymore though My phone automatically deletes texts that are more than 5 days old. I can increase the time period or stop it altogether...but if I do that the phone doesn't work as well. It freezes up, and aspects related to both talk and text get all funky. It seems to be unrelated, at least directly, to storage since it looks like I have plenty. But, nevertheless the more texts I have the more likely the phone is to get funky. If I have it set to delete them after more than 5 days (or cancel it altogether) it gets full too quickly and acts weird. I guess I could take the setting off and try to be really diligent about deleting messages...but I'm too lazy for that
  6. Hey guys, Simple question, do you prefer to call someone or text them? I just realized that so far today I've received 23 texts and sent 22, and it's not even noon yet! Conversely I've made and received no phone calls. I know this is a difficult question, because it compares two different things. I mean the sheer # of texts is a good indication of how much one texts, whereas the number of phone calls isn't very informative since you could call one person and talk for hours or make five, two-minute, phone calls. I guess length of time is a better indication. Of course then you've got to take into consideration things like impersonal phone calls made to business in which you're on hold or going through the automated system. So really use any measure you like to come up with your answer. Personally, I tend to text on a much more regular basis, but most of the time if it's something important I opt for phone calls. For some things though texting is far superior in my opinion. For example statements or brief things you need to tell someone, or even simple questions. Also, with some people texting might not be an option. My mom and pretty much all of my immediate family don't text, so that's just not an option. I voted that it depends on the person and what I want to convey for the first one, and for the second I voted that I text more. Have a great day all -Kevin
  7. Congrats on this too! I'm sure it's great

  9. I did the most horrible duet with a friend of mine the other night! We were terrible. It was so much fun though
  10. On the other hand, while she might understand and be sympathetic to some degree, she's also bound to be pretty ticked off that he just up and did this without even talking to her himself or putting in any kind of notice (or so she'll think). Well, I'm sure it's not recommended, but if the reputations are to be believed it's a pretty common phenomenon for rock bands and other singers. In fact let's just be glad they're not also doing drugs and smoking (which are other things that aren't advisable for one's vocal cords, but still pretty common).

  13. Congrats Old Bob! I know I for one am eager to see what those next posts have in store Woo hoo! Congrats Rose! And congrats, editor Jason
  14. Did he get kicked off?
  15. LOL! It does look that way!
  16. LOL, well I have a GPS and a truck style vehicle too, but unlike CJ and Gary I have no intention of conducting this experiment I will say that mine loses reception underground and often in parking garages, but it's kinda sporadic and sometimes she works when I don't expect her to. My take on it would be that it would depend on the GPS. Chase's was quite nice and probably got good reception. So I'm not troubled by it. As I recall the wiring and such was the main reason they needed Brandon and why they had to distract Jerry for so long. I'm sure he does, but presumably The Scar is counting on his plan for nuclear driven world domination to already be in effect by then. This was actually the thing that had bothered me the most as well. On the other hand I expect one of two things to happen. Either someone in Helen's office will simply forward the letter over to her (which seems the most likely). Or she won't get it till she gets to LA...but would she really miss him before then? Doesn't see expect him to be back in the states with the stuff? Would be checking up on him? I guess it's a maybe either way. But if she were checking up on him chances are she'd call the office to see if he'd attempted to contact them...then she'd hear about the letter. So either way it'll probably work out. I know if I were Helen and I were out of the country and I had trouble contact an employee, one of the early steps I'd take would be to contact my office to see if they knew anything. Yes, I think the Adam backstory, thoughts, and feelings were sufficiently covered. I also took note that shortly before he was killed he referred to Jerry as something along the lines of "an annoying little queer". Perhaps to make him slightly less of a sympathetic character? Anyway nice job, CJ -Kevin
  17. For some reason when you said you heard the door open I assumed it was the bedroom door. Took me some time to work out you meant the front door Well, I'm sure it was news to him! No, I've been "caught" messing around with anyone. A few months ago though, I was over a guy I was seeing's place, and he was staying with his parents. Made me a bit paranoid and uncomfortable. It felt so high school or something! (he was 20-something though ) That was probably as near as I've ever been to being "caught". Also guys, as Sacha indicated in the original post, let's keep this discussion appropriate for all users -Kevin
  18. Nor am I. At least not especially. The Scar already knows that they were there and that the paparazzi took their pictures. However, he didn't inform Demitri of this. Thus the reason why Demitri was alarmed. It all really comes down to whether or not the photos expose something that couldn't have been taken in his presence, or that looks too revealing. Anyway, good chapter! I quite enjoyed it -Kevin
  19. Good deal, Beasty We'll be glad to have you BTW, I'd meant to ask, is 18 the age of majority in India as it is in the U.S.? I was just sort of assuming it was.
  20. I've gotten a thorough kick out of this thread! Oh my gosh! Yes!! I love that episode! It was so funny! Didn't he end up signing the letter "Baby Kangaroo" Tribbiani? HAHA, I can't stop laughing now! LOL, we need to get together for a friends marathon! I think I've heard it referred to as "love muscle" or something before...but that too sounds kinda over the top! I would take the advice others gave and either not use the word directly or else dress it up with adjectives. -Kevin
  21. LOL, the line from your quote that he bolded...he found it amusing The one about Danica Patrick and Marco Andretti and the racing. Whoa, Nick, I didn't know that at all! First off let me say that I'm really proud of you for thinking outside the box and pursing something with this person even though you're in unchartered waters! Way to go I think it's really romantic If I were your parents I would do my very best to treat your relationship with the girl just the way I'd always treated your other relationships because to me it wouldn't feel fair not to. However, while I obviously can't speak for your parents, I'm sure a big part of what must be going on has to do with the perception that girls are more "easy to take advantage of" I hate that stereotype! But it's so prolific it's hard to avoid. I confess that even me - Mr. down with stereotypes and gender roles - would have a slight feeling of, "Well, if it's two guys and they get up to anything it's probably something they both want, but if it's a guy and a girl, she might feel pressured". That's ridiculous of course, and I know that, but it's hard to escape that perception. Also, I suspect the issue of pregnancy is another aspect. I mean you weren't going to get Taylor pregnant even if you weren't careful Could it also have anything to do with the relationship your parents have with the girl and her family over how things were with them and Taylor and his family? I mean if the girl's parents are already acting like this is a huge deal maybe they just feel more anxious and nervous to begin with and more like they have to make sure everything is going down as smoothly as possible. Anyway, I don't really know, but as I said I'm really glad for you and proud of you I hope things work out! Kevin
  22. Awww Well at least you didn't think you were a lesbian.
  23. Hmmm, well I recently had one unfortunate little mishap. In all fairness it wasn't completely my fault. Anyone know that song "Love song" by Sara Bareilles? Well it came on the radio, and whenever a song I like comes on the radio I text a bit of it to my other phone line so that I'll remember to check it out later. Well that song came on, but I was driving and it was raining, so I asked my friend, who was with me, to use my phone and text it to my other. So he does...only he makes a little goof - perhaps because he wasn't used to using my phone - and he ends up texting to a real person instead of my phone. Unfortunately the person he texted it to was someone who had a crush on me that I was trying to let down gently. And unfortunately all he texted was: "I'm not going to write you a love song" Worse, I didn't even know it had happened until the guy sent back: "WHAT?!? Why would you say that?" Yeah, screwed with the guy's head pretty bad
  24. Well you see, Tim, I'm not quite human -Kevin
  25. I fully agree, James! This antibiotic thing is something that's concerned me for quite sometime now! It's also very important to take your medication as prescribed and to finish your prescription - even if you feel recovered. That help prevents further drug resistant mutations from occurring Actually I read these articles in both Newsweek and Reader's Digest (which are at least ostensibly serious, well-respected publications), and based on the methodology they said the researchers used I'm inclined to be concerned. Still, as I recall they also said it wasn't completely conclusive, but it was definitely enough so to make you think. Take care all -Kevin
