  1. Happy Birthday, Dude! I hope it's a very special, very happy one -Kevin
  2. LOL, I may indeed be to "blame" for throwing my u's around with Vic watching, but I certainly don't have a love for labour, in fact, given the choice, I'd favour leisure every time Kevin (the innocent )
  3. Way to go you guys! Your efforts are much appreciated, as of course are the efforts and dedication of our very skilled author -Kevin
  4. LOL, and of course what CJ strategically forgot to mention is that he's only member in the 4,000 and rapidly closing in on 5,000! As for whether Graeme or I will be the first to reach 3,000...well Graeme's certainly approaching with a higher velocity than I am, but I do have a bit of a headstart, so it ought to be pretty close While we're on the subject of board stats, it might be worth noting that if/when Graeme and I do move out of the 3,000s it would leave the bi-mi club empty. Only our very own Joe looks like he'll be having a seat before we step out -Kevin
  5. Well, I am now officially all caught up and ready for the next chapter! LOL, I was going to jump into the discussion but every time I had a comment I'd scroll a bit further and discover it had already been made! So I'll just sit here lurking till the next chapter comes out! Awesome job, CJ! I'm really enjoying the story and can't wait to see what happens next! One quick comment (okay so I lied a bit ) I'm so glad you included lesbians! I really hope we get to see more of Helen and Barbara's dynamic! Take care and have a fantastic day all! Kevin
  6. WOO HOO! Welcome to the forums then! It's awesome having you So have you been following all Dom's stories since TLW or did you only just find out about that rest? The reason I ask is because I was thinking Nifty didn't have a way to search stories by authors so I figured unless you happened to spot the others you might have missed them. Anyway great havin ya -Kevin
  7. Thanks guys Ohh, so it's his fault I've had a headache all day! LOL, you have to have 500 posts to do it! No worries though at 0.03 posts per day you only have about 16,100 days (or about 44 years) left to go! Ah, well then in that case you may be able to cut that number down to just over three decades! Take care all and have an awesome day! -Kevin
  8. Well yes, I guess you guys might be right then. Really?! I don't remember that episode! I'd quite like to see it! (I just realized that might come off as sounding sarcastic like I don't believe you. I definitely do and would just like to see the episode because it sounds amusing and I liked the show - and have seen most of the episodes) LOL! I like that! Well said, Steve! That's exactly what I meant! Only it's Grady not Gabe, and Dalton not Dustin But yeah, whoever they are that's what I was thinkin' too Which names does your version use? (Completely kidding here, just being silly ) The only times I remember Grady trying to talk to Brennan was on the bus to McDonald's and at the end of the story. In both cases he'd already managed to thoroughly upset Brennan and remain insensitive toward his feelings. He especially should have realized what was going on after the McDonald's incident and taken greater care not to make Brennan feel left out. Brennan even tried to be nice, and be included by going to sit with Grady. IMO, it would have been nice for Grady to have invited Brennan along, or at least spent a few minutes talking to him, after the game. Just my thoughts, Take care all and have a great day! Kevin
  9. Well said, Mike! I definitely agree with all of that Eughh, we do seem to have gone a bit off topic Let's hope the mods don't notice! Anyway, I'm really glad you went, Robbie, and please let us know how the next meeting goes! -Kevin
  10. That was really funny! On a side note, I really don't see what everyone's fascination with Adam Levine is. He's just not that cute to me. Don't get me wrong, I really like Maroon 5, and I like his voice, but I just don't think he's "all that". In fact watching that video I definitely thoughts Andy Samberg was much cuter (and he's not really my type either, just a bit more so). But yeah, funny vid! Thanks for sharing, Jack Kevin
  11. Obviously, I've never seen the guy and there are ALOT of hippie people with long hair who aren't gay, but that actually might have been a slight tip off. People who seem to channel the "hippie" culture seem to also embrace the counter culture and homosexuality can still very much be considered a part of that. Besides the two ideologies have many similarities on the surface: an emphasis on peace and acceptance, and perhaps on free love (I don't necessarily mean promiscuity, but being less bogged down in the roles and expectations of society). The longer hair might also (but certainly not necessarily) be indicative of a guy who cares about his hair and gives it a lot of attention. Anyway I am stereotyping, which is sorta the point. You can find a stereotype for anything if you look for it. Ah, the ever appealing "straight-acting" gay guy. I can definitely understand the fascinationl, and in some way a few of the aspects might appeal to me too. However, I certainly have no desire to date a straight guy - even a gay one. I like most of the characteristics that typically apply to gay guys, be them physical, emotional, or with regards to personality. I like the sensitivity, witty sense of humour, enhanced capacity for sharing and sympathy. I like the style, sense of one's body, and body image. In general I think gay guys take better care of themselves and others. Don't get me wrong, there are quite a few gay guys out there who don't have any of the characteristics I just described, and there's quite a few straight guys out there who probably have them all. Again I'm just talking about the stereotypes for each group. Anyway, I've come to accept that with "sensitivity" might come "overly emotional". Witty sense of humour might sometimes boarder on bitchy. Sense of style and desire to take care of one's looks can easily translate into self-absorbed and shallow. I'm not saying I like these negatives, obviously I don't or I wouldn't describe them as negatives, but I think there's going to be negatives to any positive anyway. Certainly the negatives can be found to all the traditional hyper-manly qualities (I.E. Strong and assertive can equal rough and insensitive when taken to extremes). Anyway, yes, I'd love to find a guy who had all the positive qualities and none of the negatives, but in general I like the positives of the stereotypical gay guy better than the positives of the stereotypical straight guy, so I'm more willing to put up with the corresponding negatives. Take care all and have an awesome day Kevin
  12. Well considering I've already quit reading newspapers and watching television in favour of spending my free time on the internet, I guess it would just come down to whether or not I wanted to re-inject them into my daily life. I already do read quit a few news articles online, and I frequently watch clips, movie videos, and even whole episodes of shows I've downloaded. So I suppose in many ways I already have. On the other hand one of the appeals of turning to the internet was to get away from these things. I no longer wanted to spend my time sitting around watching TV, and I prefer not to know the daily details of what's going on in the news (I do read a few weekly and monthly news publications, but I just don't need daily news, that's far too much for me). LOL, I guess I just can't get away from these things. -Kevin
  13. The Sharpest Lives - My Chemical Romance
  14. That's such a funny mental image!
  15. I noticed that there's a link at the bottom for viewing the whole show! Is this standard now? I mean can people usually watch entire episodes of network series on their websites? If so that would be pretty cool and I might just start doing it, if not I'd hate to watch the first episode, get hooked, and then find myself unable to see more. Have a great day all! Kevin
  16. Welcome home, Dhruv! We've missed you! I was wondering where you were Glad you're back and hope you had fun! -Kevin
  17. I agree. The more and longer someone's been out, the easier I think it gets to figure out if others are gay or not. I think part of this is just (that in general there is) more exposure to the gay community. However, I think some of it comes from simply being more in touch with things you may perhaps have been afraid/unable to examine before. -Kevin
  18. Thanks everyone!
  19. Thanks Jamie I'm grateful for : 1) Artichokes! They're so good and by the time I finish this post my artichoke will be done cooking and ready to eat! 2) Our authors! They do such an awesome job with the stories and keep us all so entertained! 3) A good weekend I had a really nice weekend. It was pretty relaxing and still somehow productive! 4) Cellular phones They make life so much easier! I'm just old enough that I can remember them not being very prevalent in my early life and things are definitely a lot more convenient now that they're around. 5) Water It's my beverage of choice
  20. Actually, I didn't necessarily consider the shirt completely "harmless" and non-controversial. Indeed that is why I put the "for no positive good" part of my previous post in italics, because I concede that it might indeed piss people off. The difference is that I think it might actually have an overall positive effect. LOL! A funny story indeed! However, based on my experiences with college parking lots I'd say chances are it was the only available spot. I know I've been in situations in which I've been so desperate to find a spot I'd have parked next to an axe murderer and hoped not to run into him on our way back to our vehicles -Kevin
  21. Hi all! I just started reading "Let the Music Play", and I was wondering if there was room for a reformed pirate in The Herd (not that I'm trying to suggest a bias toward one name or the other or anything ). LOL, if you guys have me I promise to lurk around and go unnoticed...just like I do in the other forums Take care all -Kevin
  22. Well done, Emoe! -Kevin
  23. Hi All! I just read the first three chapter of Let the Music Play. I have to say I was very impressed! Awesome job, CJ! I had a few initial thoughts: -I love the band name "Instinct". I kept thinking, "Wow! That sounds just like something a real band would name themselves!" Then I realized it was probably a clever play on "N'sync". Well done! -There's a "Mason Jar" restaurant here in Houston that I quite like! So I found that to be a delightful coincidence! I hadn't successfully pegged Lump as a homophobe. Instead I was thinking that Chase was gay, and that that was the reason for the falling out with his parents, but I was thinking that Lump was also gay, had dated Chase, and that they'd ended up on bad terms. Which would thus explain why Chase and Lump hated each other, and might also explain why the boys would be hesitant about having another gay band member (for fear that the same thing would happen again!). I'm glad I turned out to be wrong on this! Awesome several chapters! I'm really looking forward to catching up on the rest and joining the discussions here in the forum! (If there's room for one more quiet lurker that is ) Take care all and have an awesome day! Kevin
