  1. Well that was sad Thanks for sharing, Rick
  2. Hi all, I just wanted to let you guys know that unfortunately I won't be able to release chapter 4 today . I had a really busy week and didn't get much time to write . So sorry ...hopefully next week though! take care all! Kevin
  3. All I Wanted by Viv Viv's Fall Anthology story ***Possible Spoilers*** Great story! I thought it was so cool how Taylor had secretly been admiring Blake all along but thought that Blake was oblivious about him when really Blake was interested too! All the little details were just great too! The way that Max always makes someone carry him home from trick or treating; the way that Taylor was so over-organized sorting the candy; the way he was upset about his mom and Blake "secretly" knowing each other; it was just great! I really liked the way Taylor took care of Blake too; that was really sweet! It was so funny how Blake made Taylor dig the keys out of his pocket! It was also really nice how Taylor was so careful not to take advantage of the situation or Blake in any way. LOL, especially since Blake probably kinda wanted him too. I also really liked how it ended without a huge discussion or a lot of explanation anything, just with Blake confessing:
  4. Halloween is a Holiday by rknapp rknapp's Fall Anthology story ***Possible Spoilers*** Awwww What a sweet story! It reminded me a lot of my high school days, especially with the partying in the fields/woods. It looks like the others had sort of planned for Jake and Ryan to get together! I wonder if Jake was in on it too. I'm thinking he must have at least had a little encouragement! I was glad to see that Ryan had the support of his friends. They sounded like a good gang and I'm really pleased that he got to meet Jake. They must have really been enjoying their conversation to not notice time go by or everyone else coming and going to get beer! It was definitely a special night! Great job, Robbie! I really enjoyed this one! So what did everyone else think? Kevin
  5. Oidcha Shamhna by Lugh Lugh's Fall Anthology story ***Possible Spoilers*** In this fascinating tale Lugh tells the story of a human sacrifice from his perspective. This tragic figure seemed destined for the fate all along. His name was "Sacrifice", he was cursed by a priest, and he was always different, longing to be with the men instead of the women. This sacrifice is necessitated when the main character picks up a stone which has broken in half due to the intense heat of an "All Hallow's Eve" fire. One cannot help but empathize with the main character and his unfortunate plight, especially when the poignant final words are read:
  6. The Masquerade by Julien Gregg Julien Gregg's Fall Anthology story ***Possible Spoilers*** Great story! I really didn't see the ending coming! I mean I guess I should have since I knew how much Alex liked Darry, but I was thinking if anything he'd end up with Paul or something. WOW, I was just so surprised when Darry said: totally unexpected! It was a really great story too! Darry seemed like such a cool friend! LOL, I was thinking Alex was being a bit over-dramatic, but I guess it all worked out for the best. It was so cute that they ended up wearing costumes from the same obscure comic. I did feel really badly for poor Alex with the way his former friends and parents treated him I'm glad Darry's parents were there for him. Anyway great job, Julien, I really liked the last line too: -Kevin
  7. The Necklace by eternity2rock eternity2rock's Fall Anthology story ***Possible Spoilers*** I certainly didn't see this one coming! I was really curious about what was going on and about who the two main characters were. I really didn't expect the woman to turn out to be some sort of ghost! I was thinking the two had known each other for a long time, but it seems that they must have met on the night of the accident. I do wonder if each of these men is supposed to be the descendent of Jacob then surely they must already have children of their own (or the line couldn't keep going). Yes, Davidson doesn't mention a child of his own, only the little boy in the crib. I also wonder what'll happen after the fourth man dies. There's only supposed to be four after all. Is the fourth (or I guess the 5th actually) destined to be the one that someone saves Sarah and changes fate? Anyway very interesting story, eternity! Awesome job, you really gave us a lot to think about! Kevin
  8. Facing the Demons by Dezlboi Dezlboi's Fall Anthology story ***Possible Spoilers*** Awesome story! I really felt like I had an excellent handle on Tyler! At first I didn't even know if he was gay. Then I didn't know if anyone else knew. I was glad to find out that his family and close friends did know and accept him though! I guess Nick either had pretty good gaydar or had put two and two together when Heather told him how nothing had happened. Nick was a really interesting character! I had a lot of trouble figuring him out. At first I was thinking that the dream Tyler had wasn't a dream about remembering the past, but instead a dream that sort of predicted the future. So I was actually thinking for awhile that Nick was trying to trick him into going into the graveyard so that the other guys could jump him! I figured he must be trying to help Heather get revenge or something. I was really happy to see that Nick wasn't trying to do that! Of course now I'm not sure if that dream really happened or not. My feeling is that it didn't and that it was some kind of warning instead. Because it seems like a pretty big coincidence that the same three people would be there in the same masks...well unless that was just like their hangout and they always wore those masks I guess. Still I'm thinking it had never actually happened. Of course if it didn't then I guess it doesn't make as much sense that Tyler was "facing his demons". Of course I guess those demons could have been something tangible from his past or just fears that were gripping him in general. I guess the simplest explanation is that it did happen though. I don't know, what does everyone else think? Anyway I really enjoyed this story quite a bit!! Awesome job, Dez! Kevin
  9. Invisible by DarkShadow DarkShadow's Fall Anthology story ***Possible Spoilers*** Wow! I loved the ending to this one so much! No one read on unless you've already read the ending! It totally didn't occur to me when in the first paragraph Steve saw the article about the hate crime blow by that this hate crime could be about him! I felt so sorry for him and Daniel, especially Daniel. They had such a sad life. This story left me with many questions about just what did happen. For example: Are they forced to relive the same day over and over again every Halloween? In other words were all those things they did that day EXACTLY what they'd done on the day of their death? OR Is it significant that no one saw them the entire day (except the killer at the end)? I mean since they said there were several "Peterson boys", the one they witnessed in the bathroom could have been a much younger one who now a senior. Also even though his dad said "Hey..." as he was leaving the house that afternoon, there's no guarantee that was directed at Steve. He may have been about to say something to Steve's mother in the kitchen. So what do you guys think? Or are both possibilities somehow tied together? Maybe that's essentially the same day they had before, but they couldn't interact with anyone because that might have made it different. Anyway, awesome job, DarkShadow! I really enjoyed this story and I loved the surprise ending! Kevin
  10. Beethee Comes to Town by Camy Camy's Fall Anthology story ***Possible Spoilers*** What a fun story! It looks like a real happy ending for both Beethee and Hoppy! Beethee gets to be human and Hoppy gets to be with the boy of his dreams! Yay for them! Of course one must wonder about poor Jake lol. I guess it was slightly less happy for him. I suppose Hoppy will always have his hands full with Beethee too since presumably he'll always be...impish. Great story, Camy!! I really enjoyed it! Kevin
  11. This Time Will Be Different by Bardera Bardeara's Fall Anthology story ***Possible Spoilers*** I really enjoyed the way this story captured the longing that came along with being in love with someone but being unable to tell them how you feel! There were a few things left to the reader's imagination however. For example what was this accident that Brent spoke of? Why was there an old man sitting in his chair reading a book? Was that him? My interpretation is that Lucas must have died in some sort of an accident at that precise time, 9:43 PM. Thus, he can dress in his Peter Pan outfit and truly not get any older. I didn't understand about this old man who must surely have been Brent though. Unless in reality this routine has been going on for SO LONG that he really is an old man. I wonder if that means he's having some sort of out-of-body experience. I think these little questions and mysteries really add dramatic effect to the story! Almost as though Bardeara is leaving it up to each of our own imaginations! In any case it's a really sweet love story and I'm so glad that Lucas and Brent were finally able to tell each other how they felt! What did everyone else think about these mysteries? Awesome job, Bard! Kevin
  12. Yeah, so I said that to my cd player today . I was on my way to the bank and I was listening to a cd in my truck, and really enjoying it, when it suddenly started to skip. So without even thinking about it I looked at the cd player and said "dude, focus". LOL, then I realized that was a silly thing to say to a cd player. Of course by then I was laughing my butt off so I went all fake dramatic, "Comeon! This is like your only purpose in life. You can do this! Focus, you can get through this!" ....yeah still couldn't play that track...started blaming the cd itself actually. So anyway after I got out of the straightjacket I went to the bank. People are so nice at the bank!! I realized I'd accidently left my debit card in the ATM the last time I went (didn't realize it till I needed it again this time ), but they gave it back to me. Anyway we had a nice chat - me and the bankers - and I even got to vote on a colouring contest they were having! I coincidentally voted for the guy who was looking for my card too, so everyone joked that that was bound to help! I guess it did too. Then I went to the produce stand...it's a really crummy time of the year for oranges . I racked up on squash and apples though! So then I wanted to have a maragrita because I had my lazar hair removal treatment today (right before I went to the bank) and it frickin hurts! And I always want a drink and a big hug afterwards. Didn't get the hug though , but I'll be sure to get a couple extras tomorrow when I go to the GLBT group. I LOVE how huggy gay people are! Anyway getting back on topic I guess the hair removal wasn't THAT bad today. I mean I was able to carry on a conversation with the woman doing me. In the course of this conversation she told me that she treats another guy and when she's doing him he literally screams and thrashes about on the table! YIKES, it isn't THAT bad and she told me she was using the highest setting on me too! (Because I'm very light complected. The darker you are the lower your setting, so the less pain, but the longer it takes to get results) Anyway wow, I bet she hates it when people do that! I'd freak out if someone was like screaming and crying while I was trying to do my job! I was actually laughing and talking alot...which, having studied psychology, I recognized (even at the time) as a mechanism for coping with the pain and stress. So anyway I got through it and I wanted that drink. So I stopped at this Mexican restaurant and would you believe it, they didn't sell margaritas! I had the sense to ask first though so I wasn't like stuck eating (lol, I didn't want to eat anyway ). I tell ya, Texans are so weird about alcohol! In Louisiana you can buy the stuff ANYWHERE (well pretty much any gas station or grocery store...most places you can buy non-alcoholic beverages you can buy alcoholic ones too). But apparently that part of the city was dry! What the frick?! See Houston apparently swallowed up like 5 or 6 other smaller cities long ago, and each of these "smaller cities" still has SOME of their own laws and stuff for their district. Like one I went to and said I needed to get fingerprinted (it was for a background check that they ran on everyone at my old job ), and the officer was like "are you a resident of ___?" and I was like, "well I'm a resident of Houston, but no I don't live in this area" and he was like "oh sorry you have to be a resident of our little city, this police (and fire department) only serve the residents of ___". That's just so frickin weird to me! Anyway back to the alcohol thing, you can't buy hard liquor (like tequila ) at groceries stores, instead you have to go to a specific liquor store. AND they're not allowed to sell it after 9pm (but yet bars and clubs can serve until 3am *shrug*). So anyway I had to go to the liquor store...which really makes me feel like a drunk for some reason. I mean back home I'd just buy all my regular groceries and if I felt like a margarita or a mudslide I'd pick up the stuff at the same time. Having to make a seperate trip to a special store just makes me feel like an alcoholic. BUT on the bright side I found this SUGAR FREE margarita mix!!! I was so frickin excited! It's sweetened with Splenda! GOSH! I love that stuff! I recently bought chocolate syrup that was sweetened with Splenda too! (which BTW, not as good, but hey this way I won't get diabetes so yay ) Anyway I finally got home, ate my fruit, and drank my margarita . It was lovely. On another note I regret to say that I WON'T be posting the next chapter of Indefensible today/tomorrow. The last couple of weeks have just really been hectic and I haven't found time to write it. Plus, I'm really REALLY eager to write chapter 5, but I'm not especially eager to write chapter 4 so I'm sure that's part of the problem. I'm really excited about the stuff that's going to happen after chapter 4 though! It's going to start getting into the part of the story I'm eager to tell! But *sigh* no way around writing chapter 4, so I'll just have to push through it. It really should be out next week though! And I'm hoping to not have any more delays (well of course I'm hoping that lol ) OHH, but I did write a short story! Really short, only like 5 pages, but overall I'm fairly pleased with the way it came out. I'll probably post it sometime this weekend or next week too Anyway take care everyone and have an awesome day! Kevin
  13. He probably likes you (platonically) The person below me knows many interesting facts relating to shellfish
  14. Yay for New Jersey! Let's hope things go well in Connecticut, Iowa, and Maryland! On another note, LOL, when I saw this topic I thought you were referring to something good that had happened to NickolasJames Anyway great! take care all Kevin
  15. LOL, in the flashback in chapter two two of the characters are playing scrabble and one of them uses the word "Semen", the other says "I can't believe you got semen on the board, Don". Vance and I play scrabble online and that was actually something that had just happened when I wrote that chapter
  16. Hmm, obviously I support gay rights, but in the case of storks I must say I'm a bit concerned by these developments. What if the couple wants children? Clearly they can't reproduce on their own and as such they may be tempted to steal one of those babies they're supposed to delivering! I just don't know if we can allow gay stork couples -Kevin (who IS kidding )
  17. No, that hasn't happened to me....almost did though. My first year of college my roommates left, I brought up these questionable pictures (video actually), THEN one of them came back and asked to use my computer . I couldn't say "no", because that in itself would have been really suspicious so I just let him use it, the other stuff was minimized the whole time! He never opened it though (I stayed in the room and chatted the whole time). Wouldn't have been a disaster though, it happened to be straight porn anyway. Would have been a tad embarrassing though! The person below me could have done without the above story
  18. I'm sorry, Joe. It may indeed be time for you to move out, but if you do so make sure you do it on the best terms possible. You should try to communicate with your mom and understand each other. It isn't always easy but it's worth it. Take care Kevin
  19. You'll love it, Juss!! Luc always makes me cry! LOL
  20. I've never used a prop either. I wrote a fairly elaborate "character encyclopedia" to help me keep everything straight though, and once I slipped an "inside joke" into one of my chapters.
  21. I think it also depends on personal opinion. For example: all four terms depend on how they're said as to whether or not I'll find them offensive. I have some gay friends who can routinely refer to each other (and me) as a "fag" without anyone getting offended. I'm sure this has something to do with the frequent belief that members of minority groups can refer to each other affectionately using the typically offensive label. However, personally I don't mind if straight people use the term either if they're close with the gay person in question or are known to NOT have any issues or prejudices about homosexuality...if we're both cool with it then sure go ahead and joke about it. Also, it's largely a matter of being politically correct. A perfectly nice, innocent person might very well casually say "oh yeah, well he's a fag" and NOT being attaching any judgement to it, instead simply stating a fact albeit in a crass way. On the other hand someone could easily say "Yeah, well he's gay", and mean it very offensively. Just because someone isn't politically correct doesn't necessarily mean their closed-minded. Conversely just because someone IS polictically correct doesn't mean they aren't a bigoted jerk. I prefer the somewhat vanila, easy going "gay" too, but ultimately I think it's the context and tone that matters the most. As far as my personal reactions to just the words I like "fag" better than either "queer" or "homo", but I like "gay" the best. "Faggot" on the other hand REALLY sets me off. Add that "-got" on the end and I'm not laughing anymore. That's just my own personal biases though and I'm sure they're just based on my own life experiences and world view. As far as people calling something "gay" in a derogatory fashion it doesn't personally bother me because as far as I'm concerned in that context the word has lost its true meaning, in the same way that pretty much all "swear" words lose their true meaning. It's actually quite amusing to imagine people literally meaning the definition of the word when they're on a vulgar tirade, and for that matter how can some inanimate object or bad situation really be gay? Besides that I've known several gay people (and NOT just from GA) who call things "gay". So it doesn't bother me, but I can see why it bothers some people and personally I DO try to be politically correct and polite in general so I don't use any of the "bad" words or any of the good ones in "bad" ways. personally I just can't get offended at "freak". People can also call me "weird" or "strange" as much as they like. "Boring" or "conventional" would both bother me ALOT more. Heck I'm even more disappointed by "normal", not offended because I know people typically mean that in a nice way, but I'm always thinking "Normal? You think I'm normal?" which sorta does automatically translate to "boring" in my head. I pride myself on not being run of the mill...LOL, but that's just me...and I'm NOT normal, so what do I know Interestingly, I don't like "queer" precisely because it does connect "strange" or "odd" with being gay (at least in my head). Which I don't approve of. My sexuality isn't weird; it is perfectly "normal" and I don't appreciate the implication that it is odd. I'm weird for lotsa other reasons that have nothing to do with sex or attraction... and I wouldn't have it any other way. have an awesome day everyone, and please no one take offense at post. These only my opinions for ME, and I think they only work for me Kevin
  22. So the 2nd duck was trying to rape the first duck, the first duck, in a frenzy to escape, accidently killed himself, and the 2nd duck took advantage of the situation? WOW My only question is...was the 2nd duck charged with anything? I definitely think that duck should be arrested! I think perhaps he should even get the death penality...then he'd be a fried duck haha, Colin I love how you concluded that it was the homework that was being distracting! Have an awesome day everyone! Kevin
  23. uh huh The person below me HAS a pet kangaroo
