  1. Excellent points, Glim! Also welcome to the forums This sounds like quite a movie! I'd like to see it! Great point, Steve! You're right; this definitely seems like a turning point! How sad I'm sorry the poor guy was never able to get away from his past demons Anyway here are my initial thoughts from reading the chapter: The first half of this chapter was so scary. I felt like I was reading the script for a horror movie at first! I don
  2. Did you ever wonder just what inspired LittleBuddhaTW to create the character of Connor? Perhaps you've always wanted to know if Austin's adventures are based on any real life events. Maybe you've just contemplated "seeking Nirvana" and you'd like a little advice. Well fear not dear reader, because these things and more will be open for discussion on Sunday, October 8th when hosted author LittleBuddhaTW is featured for GA

  4. Happy Birthday, Howie!! I hope you have an awesome year!
  5. Hey Michael! Thanks!! I really appreciate that! hehe, Nicky's my favourite too, but I have to admit after writing chapter 2 I've really gotten attached to Donny and Brad!
  6. Hi everyone! I just posted Indefensible: Chapter 1 - Hungry Souls in eFiction. Please follow that link and tell me what you think! Just to let you guys know that if you already read what I had posted in the Sneak Peeks forum I did make a few changes. Nothing major, the plot's still the same, but I think it reads a little bit better now. Chapter 2 is already complete and edited and will likely be released Monday, October 9th. I had to split chapter 2 into two parts so the end of chapter 3 is what I originally planned to be the ending of chapter 2. I'm really pleased with the way chapter 2 turned out though (and while it is a bit shorter than the first chapter it's not THAT much shorter). HEHE, and if you guys ask nicely I may even release the title name early Anyway let me know what you guys think! Take care and have an awesome day! Kevin
  7. Well Oliver would be the next one I'm worried about, but he's a little scary...I mean he did just kill his mom and all. Actually, I'm pretty sure that Dom doesn't read the posts until after he's written the last chapter of a story. I know that's how it was with DD anyway, and I believe it's his general practice. I'm assuming he made an exception for the sex thread he started. This seems like a really good theory to me! I can't wait to read the next chapter! Kevin
  8. I tend to agree with you on this point. However, I've never found that to be particularly indicative either way of God's existance. That's like Americans saying "I hear there's life on Asia/Europe/Australia, so I guess that proves there's no God!" huh? I just don't find it at all relevant, nor do I find evolution relevant. Sure people evolved...so? Fundamentalists who take everything in a black and white, literalist perspective are the ones likely to take issue with these subjects, and IMO they're also the ones most likely to cause trouble. So I doubt we really disagree on this point. I don't think people with sophisticated religious beliefs that they've actually thought out on their own would have much trouble with life on other planets, evolution, OR homosexuality. I also don't think these people are going to go about trying to brainwash others since, presumably, they'll see the importance on working it out on your own. Excellent point, Dan, I quite agree. Anyway I think we've gone a bit off topic. I think we can all agree that Ian's parents aren't good people and shouldn't be emulated. It's tough to figure out exactly what's going through their heads since the story is from Ian's POV. It's possible that they're extremely misguided fundamentalists, or maybe they're just evil sadists who found a powerful weapon of control. What do you guys think? Do they believe what they're saying from a religoius perspective or are they just out to control Ian's every thought and action? to all, sorry if I came across as offensive or abrasive. If there's one thing I believe it's that everyone has a right to believe whatever they believe Take care all, Kevin
  9. I believe it's the weekend before Halloween My reason for not participating is that due to my membership on the WST team I wasn't eligible. However, the primary thing which might have stopped me would also have been the range of authors. I love the idea of the anthology Scavenger Hunt!! Take care all! Kevin
  10. Dude! I love that song! I've never owned one, but I'm sure they're nifty! The person below me still can't believe it, but is looking forward to it
  11. Happy Birthday!!

  13. Jay is a really nice guy. I think I've decided I'm primarily concerned for his, Frank, Jessica, and Rudy's safety. I'm looking forward to the next chapter. Kevin

Well I think the thing to keep in mind is that NONE of the pictures will likely scream that to his grandmother
  15. **shrugs** I agree with you guys. My parents divorced when I was a baby, but my grandfather was always around. We had a father-son relationship, but I don't think I can even remember him being angry with me 3 times, and I was never struck. I'm sure this will all be made more clear as the story progresses -Kevin

    Grocery rant

Hey Dom I think it's because people who tend to work in the food industry are (generally): 1)underpaid 2)underappreciated 3)jaded and disillusioned from all the truly rude, obnoxious customers 4)frickin tired because they tend to be in school or working two such low-paying jobs But yeah that definitely sucks and they SHOULD do better. That sucks about your computer and email problems I'm sorry I hope everything works out! Good luck Kevin

I love that song! I've often contemplated the pros of having one of those myself
  19. I definitely agree! Sometimes those are easier to move than living bodies though. Good theory and I'm not sure what I think, but I'm looking forward to find out what happens Have a great day all! Kevin
  20. How does this work? Are you able to actually click on chapters and things and have them come up? -Kevin
  21. awww, I'm sorry, Cristo! LOL, I'd definitely agree with you about reading his work being more fun than studying though! Have an awesome day! Kevin

  23. Oh Rob! You made me SO happy when I opened this thread and that was the first response For my thoughts on the matter check out my blog entry: Sexuality: I just don't care (Gosh, I've gotten alot of mileage out of that one ). Yeah! You go guys! I don't make value judgments about sexuality at all, but frankly I think in a "perfect" world everyone would be bisexual. I'm not saying it's "better" it just seems to me that intellectually it's by far the most rational choice. So preventing strikes me as ludicrous. If you think about it it's just like the Utopian dream of people no longer seeing each other in terms of race. Intuitively these are my thoughts as well. However, I'll freely admit I'm biased toward looking at sexuality (and pretty much everything else in life) as something with shades of gray. YES! I must admit it's always been a "guilty pleasure" of mine that I feel...hmm how can I phrase this..."green" because I won't be actively contributing to overpopulation. I think the best response to people who say homosexuality is a choice would be to say: "Well then it's the more responsible, civilized choice" Perhaps that's why I've never personally taken exception when anti-gay people take up the "It's a choice" rallying call. If it is a choice it's an intelligent one to make and it's filled with many benefits. Of course heterosexuality has it's benefits too, and if it were a simple matter of choice I don't think either would be the best choice foreveryone. Take me for example, for me homosexuality is boon to my "agenda". I find it very liberating. As a young gay guy I'm free pick and choose the "stereotypes" and "roles" as I see fit. I can be as into: clothes, "spa" stuff, music, art, and minority rights as I please. I fit in perfectly in these circles and can become "just another gay guy". However, as man (and one who enjoys challenging stereotypes) I can "do it myself", play the "Southern Gentleman", walk alone at night, and get away with much more assertive/agressive behaviour than the average woman (without recieving harsh labels - so unfair BTW). I find it opens more doors for what I can experience. I also feel like being gay should allow for more egalitarian relationships without getting bogged down in "roles". "You do the laundry tonight and I'll change the oil in the car, but tomorrow we might switch." Of course these things should be taken one by one and handled by the partner most skilled in that area. I just think it's...limiting for one person to take on all the "Protector" roles and another to take on all "Nurturer" roles. I have a strong taste for both and I refuse to be relegated to one or the other. So what am I? Someone who hates labels. However, since I'm foreced to live in a society that requires them, I happily take the "gay" label. I'm more physically attracted to more guys more often. However, there's quite a few women who, on a purely sexual basis, I'd like to sleep with, but there's futre of these than there are guys and my reactions to guys are more intense and stable. I also have a much more emotionally romantic attraction to guys - which I think is the most important aspect (for me anyway). So yes, I don't care why I'm "gay", I'm just glad I am -Kevin
