  1. hmm.... life expectancy of 71.2
  2. Texting is much worse than making a phone call while you're driving, not that I endorse that. If you really must have a phone call while driving, use those Bluetooth things or use the speakerphone. If you're making a call, at least your eyes are still on the road. If you're texting, it's as bad as drinking & driving, shaving, applying make-up (for those women out there), giving yourself a haircut, watching a movie, typing an e-mail, surfing the web etc while driving. It's crazy what some people do behind the wheel.

    Chapter 9

Can't wait for the next chapter! I like these kinds of stories: magic or the supernatural mixed in with the everyday. I wonder what's up with Dan though. He seems to be really upset about Owen... write faster!! Excellent writing as always!

    Chapter 1

Ouch indeed... As much as I feel sorry for the main character, part of it is a reflection of my own social life. It makes me wonder how many other people are out there that are like me. Again, very deep, very honest, and excellent writing!
  5. :wizard: :wizard: HAPPY NEW YEAR!! :wizard: :wizard:
  6. I tend to go into chat whenever I log into here unless I'm in a rush go to somewhere and I'm here just to check something.
  7. Nonexistant right now, but i'm guessing it would be red and blue. More blue than red though. *shrug*
  8. I had a nice big Christmas dinner with my godparents and some family friends. mmm...turkey....
  9. I have an iPhone 4 which is really my communications hub whenever I'm out of the house. I can e-mail, surf the net, use instant messenger, and whatever other apps/games, call, text, and skype. There is a little tab on the side of the phone that you flip to set the phone to silent. I use this tab whenever I enter a movie theater, classroom, library, church, high end restaurant (fast food restaurants I don't bother), or any other place where you are supposed to be quiet. As long as you turn off the "Keyboard Clicks" sound (Settings -> Sounds -> scroll all the way to the bottom where it says Keyboard Clicks), or just use the "mute tab" as I call it, I don't see any problem texting in a library. In a church or classroom, it would probably be disrespectful, but if it is urgent, go for it...and only for texts.(again, be sure it is set to SILENT!!!) However, in a movie theater, the glow from the screen can be distracting at times, that even with the phone set to silent, people can get agitated if you use your phone in there. People who know my phone number know that if there is an emergency, they call me 3+ times in quick succession if I don't answer the first time. In those cases, I would excuse myself from the situation, whether in a restaurant, movie theater, or class and take the call. Edit: 50th post!
  10. From what I've read, e-ink doesn't have very good FPS. The main advantage of e-ink is that you won't get eye strain from using them and that the battery life tends to be very long. I adapt to new technology very well, however, I'm not sure it is justified to pay extra to get a colour e-reader when I'm just going to be using it for reading.

  12. Merry Christmas!
  13. Average male.
  14. trick question!
  15. Family and friends are at the top of the list. True friends will stick with you through thick and thin and life is rough without them.
  16. the lyrics, the vocals, music, and tune are all pieces of the puzzle required to make a good song imo. If any of them are not done well, then it can mess up the whole thing.
  17. hmm... well people seem to think I'm angry when I really am just ...neutral inside. *shrug*
  18. I think audiobooks are good for those constantly on the run. They could then just plug in earphones and just do whatever. However they are only really suitable for fiction books because you cannot make notes along the side of the page or in an e-book reader.
  19. I used to regularly visit the gym around 3 times a week til the finances took a turn for the worse... Unfortunately for me, getting back into shape means gaining more mass, which means more calories, more food, more $... The overweight people have it easier i think.
  20. I don't really notice many obvious changes as to what colors I wear with whatever mood I'm in... It's just that I wear a lot of blue because it's my favorite colour.
  21. I have had quite a strange collection of dreams, from being in an airplane in flight with a rapid depressurization, to running from something, to inexplicable environments (such as going to the 10th floor of a building when it only has 8, falling through the floor, etc...) Then there's also the deja vu type of dreams. These dreams are not usually particularly vivid or serious, and I don't remember them until it actually happens again in my waking hours, thinking..."wait. I've seen this before!".
  22. sometimes huge parkas are necessary for Canadian winters...i've experienced temperatures as low as -45'C.... However, I agree that the low hanging pants and "gangsterism" is getting old. Fast. Toronto seems to be full of wannabe gangsters and it just makes me roll me eyes every time I see them.
  23. I find these pictures of space - especially the colourful nebulae, very stunningly beautiful. Even if I see a very high resolution picture of, perhaps, Jupiter or Saturn, it is very intriguing to look at all the complexities of those planets.
  24. Despite that, I still celebrated January 1st 2000 as the beginning of a new millennium, and January 1st 2010 as the beginning of a new decade. I suppose it looks tidier that way as "2000" is a nice round number to start fresh.
  25. I agree that the holidays can be depressing if you don't have family or friends around you. After all, the holiday season is all about coming together in unity to celebrate something. I've heard that some people go to soup kitchens to help out or just, you know, being out and about. At least you're around people that way. I have tried that second option before, but personally it's not a very good idea for me because I tend to gravitate towards the malls. You could probably guess what happened next. If you feel depressed because of the cold weather, try picking up a winter sport such as skiing or snowboarding! It gives you an adrenaline rush and a bunch of endorphins at the end. If you don't like snow, then those sports might just change your mind! As for me, this will be my final Christmas in Toronto, possibly for a long time, if not for the last time, so I'm planning on making the most of things while I'm still in the big city.
