  1. I think generally, flip flops or sandals are seen far more often in beach towns and cities rather than urban landscapes such as Toronto or Chicago. I think it's because of the crowdedness of some cities. You don't want to get your bare feet trampled on etc...
  2. I agree that the first few paragraphs are very important because it sets the foundation for the story. I also agree with Cia that a good story plays out like a movie. If I can't get a visualization, I sometimes go onto Google images to find some pictures to visualize and plug it into the story.
  3. oooo the tension builds..... *silently curses away at the bad guys...*
  4. 100 - 84 = 16.
  5. Tragic, yes. Surprising, no.
  6. Oh my god... That is a very disturbing news article... Especially this: Killing people as they are fleeing or defenseless? You really don't get any more cowardly than that! It's a physical impossibility. The fact that they were youth only makes it worse. They had their whole life in front of them... My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and friends/relatives of the victims, as well as the people of Norway in general.
  7. ugh silly YouTube copyright claims....
  8. I find it weird how people look at you funny if you're alone in a place where you normally aren't alone. Kinda like some society stigma or something.
  9. One of the Glee songs...i don't know the name of it...
  10. I have a feeling this is the calm before the storm... All "sunshine and bunnies" (quote taken from Mass Effect game) in this chapter...Hellfire and destruction in the next?
  11. I have a professional hair clipper thing...the kind that you see in barber shops. I'm currently using it for buzz cuts but I'm trying to figure out how to do the 3-2-1 fade with it. (3 on top, 2 on the sides, and 1 to blend it out) Where exactly do I switch guards? I mean how far up do I go with the #2 and how much of the #2 length should I cut to #1? On the cooler months i usually go for the Caesar style...style-able hair up top for gel or whatever, and #2 on the sides. Like the 3-2-1 but longer.
  12. Nice how Spanish(?) separates the 3 so that they are never confused with each other. English has quite a few "grey" areas as I'm sure you're all aware. As for what to call my future S.O. (if I ever get that far ), while I agree that "partner" sounds a bit too business like, "husband" seems too archaic (no offense ). When referring to him to someone else, I'd probably just use "significant other" or "boyfriend", and when talking to him directly, it would be on a first-name basis (or nickname if applicable ).
  13. not weird at all. I used to do that all the time when I had a fixed consistent morning schedule. Lasted a couple weeks after said schedule ended too... it's called the circadian rhythm or something...
  14. hmm... oh the possibilities... take a picture of something off the web and "print" it...
  15. Grrrr.... cliffhanger!! If Trev's mom is still out there, maybe she got the message? Still, it was irresponsible of the captain of that ship to transit information about it when he was specifically told not to. I hope Joel uncovers the truth once and for all about Bridget...nothing irks me quite like betrayal.
  16. Happy Canada Day!
  17. I can't figure out if I'm a light sleeper or not. Sometimes, I sleep right through my alarm clock, yet sometimes, the sound of a vacuum cleaner running in my neighbour's apartment can wake me up in a flash. It's quite annoying. Also, placing my alarm clock right next to my bed does me absolutely no favours for myself and for my neighbours (or my future university roommate). I almost always subconsciously smack that snooze button, and by the time I'm awake and alert, I find myself waking up at around 11am-noon (depending on when I go to sleep).
  18. I have always, for as long as I remember, wanted to be a pilot. I still do. That is why I am now pursuing this career choice, that is very expensive to start up in, but quite rewarding in the end.
  19. eeeeeeeeevil lies and deceit! And first.
  20. Speaking of Netflix, Netflix Canada's selection really sucks in comparison to the selection in the U.S...
  21. New York, NY has long been my favourite major city. Now I have one more reason to like it.
  22. Chris Evans Ben Cohen
  23. Please write more college themed stories! High school for me as of this month was 7 years ago and it's difficult to think back that far. It makes it easier for me to put myself in the protagonist's shoes to escape the real world for a little while.
  24. Never ever ever ever. What if the friend wants to take back his ex? It's asking for trouble.
  25. 1. Laptop 2. My safe (it has all my super-important documents in it as well as my passports) 3. My phone/wallet/keys (i keep them all in one place)
