Amazing chapter Dom!!!! I'm SO GLAD that Quinn pulled his head out of his ass long enough to realise what good friends he has in Trina & Taylor . Not to mention the backbone to let Marissa & Brad know that they are his friends. Besides night time at Quinn's being smokin' hot ( with the added irony that Jude was sent to Quinn's room to prevent teenage sex from happening on Mrs.Moore's watch), it was good to see Quinn take another step forward in accepting that he's gay and a big step towards being an admirable person by being more concerned about Jude's feelings and pleasure than his own. I won't attempt to make predictions because mine are always wrong! Is it time to start hitting the refresh button yet for chapter 23 yet? BTW, I wanted someone, anyone, to smack Brad on his ass! First he asks Quinns in a sheepish way if they're still friends and proceeds to talk loudly about interrupting Quinn & Jude!?! As if outing Quinn once wasn't enough!

I recommend this as a great read. You need to have some ability to suspend disbelief (at least I've never been so unlucky & lucky at the same time in my life...) Maybe Don can give you a better answer but from when I read it first (it's been a while), part of the reason Matt was so strongly attracted to Sarah was his PTSD, triggered by his working at the hospice, created a strong need to ensure his immortality through children. Matt states (I think near the end of book 2) that he strongly felt he needed to procreate and that Sarah never provided that emotional spark that Mike did. Mike didn't exactly roll over either. He moved halfway across the country, stopped attending all family functions and never even returned Matts phone calls for a year after he started begging to re-start a relationship. That being said, I would probably have kicked him to the curb for showing up on my doorstep! :2hands:

I second Candy's sentiment on where DD was left off! I thought I would have trouble waiting the week or two for the next installment of DD to find out what happened. To leave the story where it is and go on hiatus must be a Geneva Convention violation! I vote for Taylor... I like his character better than any other TOU character (apologies to you Jude fans). It would make for a great read to see Taylor's struggles and see how Jude, Taylor & Trina came to be where and who they are before Quinn arrived on the scene. It would give Dom a chance to explore a storyline that is much darker than anything else he's down (should he choose to do so).

Bao, As I've gotten older (or is 36 old?) I've begun to understand that when people are deliberately mean or hurtful, it's usually a way for the them to make themselves feel better about themselves because by knocking you down, it moves them up. They are trying to overcome their own inadequacies, not by trying to improve themselves, but by tearing down others. Does this make sense to you? I won't befriend people like that because I still believe that you should treat people how you want to treated and because they'll usually try to tear you down once you're out of earshot. Thanks Dom!!!! A great chapter! The ending kept me hitting the refresh button to see if Ch. 20 had magically appeared. It's alomst cruel to leave off there. If I was Quinn the second thing I'd do (after letting Mom know I made it by curfew) would be to ask Marissa why she was watching his house at midnight??? That just gives things this whole stalker vibe. I think Bree will be a whole lot more empathic to Quinn's plight once she's read the journal and then thinks back to the night he was trying to burn it in the back yard. The picture of him & Jude kissing will help her shake any thoughts that she might have had a chance with Jude if it weren't for her brother. I still think Brad's issues with Quinn are because he thinks Quinn shouldn't have "hid" being gay from him. I'm hoping that when Bree comes around, she'll smack her other "brother" up side the head and explain things to him. As I said last chapter, I still think we'll see Brad do somewhat of a fade and Taylor will move into the role of Quinn's best friend once he realizes that it'll never happen between them. I loved Taylor from the start (ok, after the party at Trina's to be more accurate). Dom's explaining his background and showing Taylor (who doesn't have much) buying groceries and trying to take care of Trina only made his stock rise up. And most importantly, I LOVED to see that Quinn finally got some... maybe in Ch.20 Jude will get some loving!

Snowdog, as one of our resident geniuses, have you attempted to clone Dom so we could get twice as many chapters???? Think about it... Dom1 could work, have a life and spend time with the bf and Dom2 could be dedicated full time to writing! Just a thought in case you're looking for something to do on the long weekend.

I second Conner's comment about wanting a scene with Mom & Taylor!!! I think Brad is going to continue to see how far he can insert his head in his ass. He seems to OK with Quinn one moment and not the next since the outing. He fine with Quinn in his drive and a short while later Jude's apartment he's not. I still think this has more to do with trust and deceit than anything else. I could see Jude coming to the house when Quinn no shows (he's supposed to be meeting him at a park nearby) and having to deal with the recently enlightened Bree. I think Brad will fade from Quin's life and be replaced by Taylor as Quinn's best friend (it would certainly add a touch of irony)

Or Better yet, Brad walks in on them before Quinn gets his door back!

You're probably right about this being something significant or it could be something as simple as Brad actually picking his mother up... Dom's a tricky one!

I think Bree is talking to Quinn's new counselor because, as Taylor said, everyone at the school knows how Johns feels about gays (except Quinn apparently) or maybe because Quinn kicked up such a stink about not going back to see Johns. I'm thinking Bree just needed someone impartial she can talk things out with, and given that she's dealing with finding out her brother is gay and is dating (I think) the man she's been chasing. That said, I hope Bree has enough sense not to have outed Quinn to Meyers (she won't know that he already knew). Maybe he can help her understand why it was so difficult for Quinn (or anyone really) to come out to the people closest to them... it's easy to come out to people who's reaction you don't give a damn about, it's when you roll the dice on the people that you have a big stake in that isn't. I still think that Brad & Bree will come around (eventually) but mommy dearest will freak... could we see Quinn shacking up with Jude (for a short time at least)?

Good luck! I did the career change a few years ago into the same field you are heading (or is it re-visiting... not sure)... make sure you regale the young pups with stories of the "old days" and see the horror on their faces when you talk about Windows not being invented yet, punchcards, etc.

Great Chapter Dom! I liked how you started to move Quinn & Jude onto a more equal level the last couple of chapters. I agree with Conner that I love Taylor, especially when he's yanking Quinn's chain . Now Quinn just has to figure out how to handle Taylor like Jude & Trina do. Jude seems to confide in Taylor alot, so he must have a serious side we haven't seen other the rescue from Johns office. I was getting ready to send Dom a nasty-gram for making me like Mrs.Moore when I started reading but then Jude was sleeping on the floor and ruined all my predictions for this chapter! I think seeing more of the smitten & vulnerable Jude (he only really has Trina & Taylor as friends?!?!) makes me like him even more!

So Ann, you think Bree will walk in and Quinn will discover how the phrase "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned..." came about? :mace: Yikes!!! Bree on the warpath should send Quinn into a meltdown... I hadn't thought of that but it would definitely make things interesting...

Yeah, like we need more of a build up... I'm trying my best not be impatient (tap, tap, tap, tap) as I know when someone puts that much effort into something for my enjoyment with no reward, I have no right to b*tch... (tap, tap, tap, tap) Oh, and Mommy will walk in on Quinn & Jude sleeping in a compromising position and freak out (I don't like her very much so far). This should complete Quinn's triumvirate of accidental outings. Will Quinn show that he's learned something from Jude and the reactions of Brad/Bree and stand up for himself to Mommy dearest or will he re-insert his head in his ass...

I'd LOVE to see another chapter of DD soon (I'll have to set up a consultation with Snowdog as I think I'm exhibiting the symptoms of C.H.A.D. ). I'd thought about sending Dom an email every day asking for the next chapter of DD but then he'd spend all his setting up spam blocking on my emails when he could be writing...

Hi Hoodster! It's great to see P&J get a new home (and that you're continuing the story soon ). For my money, I'm looking for some more on Morgan... it's kinda like watching a car locking it's brakes (old car I guess... no ABS) and watching in slow-motion to see if it's gonna wreck... and to see if my favourite gay football player is going to make another guest appearance.

Well, if Dom does finish the next chapter before he heads out into the wilds, we'll be able to settle the arguement whether there was a cliff hanger at the end of 16 (Dom, Bring some bear repellant... I don't want to have to go into the Domaholics Treatment Centre for withdrawl ) I still think that Quinn is going to have some 'splainin to do the next morning when his mother finds Jude in his bed (I doubt she'll believe that her son is "one of those awful people" though)

Dom hasn't given us enough of a look at Taylor for me to form a strong opinion of him. There are times when I'm surprised that Quinn did choke the last breath out of him. Then there was when Quinn hit Brad and got trapped by Johns. Taylor (with Trina as an accomplice) who grabbed Quinn to prevent him from being further messed up by Johns. He aslo "babysat" Quinn to make sure he didn't do anything stupid and arranged for him to get the other councillor. Taylor may have all the sensitivity of a sledgehammer (the theatre kiss, pictures in the alley & letting him get drunk to the point of puking). His heart is in the right place but it doesn't always talk to his brain. Taylor's odd humour is great. He put himself in the plus column with the way he handled Quinn the morning of the great hangover. (eggs anyone )
