Yeah, both mind benders are hoping to persuade the other but not know just exactly how are why. Guy sees Wylan as dangerous, even knowing how the leadership views his war strategy and early warning had saved them. I thought maybe Jacy came to check on Killian, but this is looking more serious as it’s highly unlikely the police would visit the site at these hours…nor would anyone else. So….is Seth, or White Deer, about to pay a helpful visit to Killian? Why, why, why, Killian. You’ve qualified to carry the pistol. You’re sitting in the dark, next to the site of two murders, waiting for the looter and/or murderer to return. Even the smallest chances of being detected, then falling into the same situations that resulted in the deaths of Healy and then the young student volunteer, more than warrants the self-defense posture. Even the Sgt yes going to think you careless and possibly crazy. I’m so glad Jacy took the stake-out and helping Killian seriously; staying more focus than Killian on the agreed task, but then again, that’s the idea of teamwork. It’s also good that others are not suspecting Jacy and I truly hope that’s not just more red herring for that koi pond. I hope Killian can find comfort in more training with Fletcher and by extension Jacy; maybe even White Deere may surprise Killian with ancient wisdom and an unexpected surprise in his own history.

Hmmm, that may require a deep dive investigation itself. It’s bound to at least raise a couple of good points. Hopefully, that most intense teamwork wouldn’t give rise to a visit from Seth. Yes, my eyes and sinuses were acting up terribly, so I had to pace through this final chapter…as listed, thought I would love to see book II, were the boys do make it to college. Their return to studies, swimming, football, and a mentor, Tom, that may just need their help as much as they need his. As is the habit of a true mentor, Tom is bound to see when another young misplaced soul needs a helping hand from those that understand all too well.

Are there any Chads in this story? Demanding a recount and the infamous case of punch ballots and…hanging chads it’s made me wonder; Chad, stay away from the light riggings, or any cords, ropes, etc!

It does make one wonder, but then again, was his accident truly that? Maybe he was a victim of his own arrogance, but who will take the blame?
