Ironically, I still wonder if Rachel’s dad, Levi’s strict grandfather, ever saw or knew of Levi’s father/birth certificate. We get the impression Rachel went elsewhere to have the baby, refusing to give it up or abort, so she gave birth in exile. After returning in destitution, did her father ever learn the information found on that form? It would still seen logical that Rachel protected that…but as to how she registered Levi for school without ever having that info spread throughout the church and community is another mystery; perhaps a fake…or was it only later that Rachel added the birth father info, possibly after her father passed and learning she herself was terminally ill.

…the rantings of flat earthers who wandered through the desert cooking with camel shit. 💩 That’s a rather wicked explanation for many of these “visions” of old tales. Man, that was some really good shit!

Heck, I kinda wished I could click more than one emoji; the loving ❤️ and the tearful tear drop 😢. There are such happy and normal growth events that make the heart swell that Levi is doing well. Then there are the tearful moments from confusion without any chances for questions and better understanding…from mom, mom’s dad, from behind the normal veil of teen confusion. Then beyond the understanding the new tribe members and how they fit …or how he fits within this tribe hierarchy, his search for truth of character from his friends and classmates is still a bit of the nagging question in his periphery. Hmmm, Casey, watching and observing like a cat on the hunt. This doesn’t bode well for the notion that Casey might be searching for himself too. It seems more calculating and scheming for position or control. Oh my, liars, teasers, and ..the Thompson’s. Even the sand dunes seemed rather suspenseful today, but luckily the sea breeze and sea oats kept the beach innocent yet another day. Yes! Perhaps Luke’s cousin, Levi’s cousin from papa Luke’s side, coming to speak might bring new credibility and popularity to Churchie; and might start the process of peeling that tearful Thompson (ville) onion before Levi gets to deal with a bag of rotten veggies.

Oh, what a great way, place, and audience, for Mommy dearest to learn some secrets that are sure to rock her to her core… As rotten as her core is.

These assumptions are that Casey is indeed gay, which does seem to be a major consideration, but even if this is the case we don’t know that Casey is any farther along his journey of discovery than Levi is himself. So Casey may have a lot of confusion and growth to deal with himself.

Then you would have been given SHIT…Special High Intensity Training, then SHIT would have gotten things right and tight. If not, then the whole platoon would have gotten SHIT together, then the team building and watching out for your buddy would have become more normal.

The whole exercise…learning to trust, learning how to be trusted.

Foot stomper…it’ll be on the test!

You tired joining the Marines? That’s serious research 🧐!

I can savor in just one swallow…I mean bite; of course you then have to run that tongue all around the gums and tucked against the cheeks. The favors still emerge each time; so is that the power of the consumed or is it the power of the sensory memory? Perhaps a new study is needed to prove the theory and validate the previous assumptions. 🤷♂️ Oh, and Taggert just seems to want life as Nasser Ranch has captured and provided. I’m not sure if a straightforward inheritance is anywhere in the cards…even after Zane is dealt with.

Ahhh, it’s ok to antagonize… until the shoe is on the other foot. Perhaps Casey is learning the hard way what the Thompsons are like.

Oh to be fifteen and trying to figure out am I normal, what is normal, how much non-standard is allowed before it becomes not-normal, etc. It’s pure chaos with a very questionable feedback loop providing new inputs to question for more confusion and more chaos…oh, and my pants can’t hide my confusion and, and, 😣 . Poor Levi has had his whole reference system thrown out and he’s having to figure out a new one. New dad…new reference system…new dads, new house…with new people, a tribe, but maybe another reference system, new family. Man this is all sounding sooo queer, well heck, it is a gay house; perhaps 🤔 his gay home. im so confused, I don’t want to thinks about that anymore…now what’s up with Jimmy and Dan? Are they like Tim and Guy, are they…gulp…are they doing some of that, that…personal stuff? Dang pants…they keep bunching up and hurting my junk. OH GOD 🥵 can I really trust talking with Father Costa??? Help me!!

Oh goodness, not just in courts but I know they need guards on wells and as much as practical the perimeter of the livestock active pastures. Tag and Ash need to lay low and to be on watch for …hell, even assassins, sniper or up close, either is game with a man that already threatened murder upon his own son. Hopefully that poison pill that Rebecca mentioned is enough to put some fear into Zane all by itself; so just what poisoned pill did dear old MR BILL..OH NO, what did he direct to happen if Tag becomes unavailable to claim his trust? Hmmm 🤔, those things that make you go hmmm 🧐. Oops, sorry @weinerdog, I landed on top of #2 on this one; ごめんなさい, you no number 2 this chapter.

That’s physical and mental anguish that haunts his soul. How refreshing that Tag says the words that seem to cement Tag becoming a bigger part of Nasser Ranch. Whether Tag wants the headaches of management or wants to feel the grit of the land himself, Ash looks to be a firm part of the equation.

It may take state or federal agencies to match up all of Zane’s mahjong financial blocks but then Jenga; the house of cards Zane’s been building to steal from Tag will come tumbling on his head. Apparently he holds deep seated resentment that his father would en-TRUST Tag with the Yoder Kingdom he feels is rightfully his. So every trick to hide or reassign assets, to obfuscate into his empire, has probably been done. Even the branding was probably to discredit, ban, and shun the rightful heir that was coming of age to claim his inheritance. Zane, a real piece of work to not trust his son to include him in the operation of Yoder Ranch. So his actions have instead ensured his exclusion…if not imprisonment for multiple felonies against multiple parties.

You do seem to have a way of sniffing out number two! I guess that weinerhound do hunt.

Oh the memories. 😝 Basic has only weeks to grow recruits the same that might otherwise take years for youth on their own; gaining confidence and learning their own strengths and weaknesses. And yes, building bonds and friendships that will forever be engrained as part of your life. Randy seems to be a kindred soul that Kent can relate to; someone that may likewise gain and share strength together.

I keep telling them these senior health and wellness questions are rife with age discrimination… I’m retired, I don’t care what day of the week/month it is. I just check occasionally and then count how many more days to the next appointments.

That’s looking through the bottle from which you’re drinking as you check the clock and calendar…so confusing seeing all those numbers. Ok, for the techies it wasn’t the time/date of the device, it was the time and date Apple said the current update would be installed on his device. 🤷♂️ 😂

Having lived much just across the international date line I can argue that he did post on Saturday…in the pacific and the far east areas.

Seeing how Eric’s dad was a respected and upstanding rancher, it make me wonder if grandpa Yoder wasn’t perhaps a great friend that had invested in the Fleming in years passed but wouldn’t move to take over a dear friends ranch…or perhaps a marriage of years passed had the dynasties tied indirectly. So ironically, old it be that the bank can’t consolidate all the investment holders due to not knowing where Tag is?
-
That would be a very interesting twist indeed; any agreement Tag would need to sign would require…a big ole red hot branding iron.

Like a fainting goat…out for the count, but I’m back up again now.

Trust me I'm not arguing for the grandfather. It’s just my reflection that there’s more that we don’t know than what we do, so while on the surface he seems harsh and very domineering, much of that is judging from a teenaged Rachel’s opinion and then from a teen aged Levi’s opinion; yet it was still a safe place for Rachel when she was desperate. If he was still alive and interacting with the main characters, we would know whether he a was a daddy-dearest father or a man perhaps dealing with many hardships himself. I.e. we don’t know why Rachel’s mom is not still in the picture and what impact that had on the family. It seems to be a tragedy of early deaths..or perhaps her parents were more senior when she can along; making the older traditional parents more understandable too. So please don’t take my chat as criticism, it is just discussing the story and speculating about the whys and how’s we got to is point. The focus of the story is taking us of Levi’s journey though, so I doubt we’ll have much backstory and my speculations will be nothing more than just exactly that…speculations.
