  1. and when our resources run out here, or be become too populated to sustain ourselves on this planet? (to which the second is already happening)
  2. dancing around
  3. Tora, Tora, Tora? (although i doubt this, since i think it was originally in black and white)
  4. see something like that video except not so much as a thing you can move through the galaxy with clicking on solarsystems with found planets and theories on them (something like you might have seen on say the last episode/s of STNG where data was showing how things changed if you blew up suns and how it changed the path of the uber space aurora...I think we could do something like that... maybe not in 3-d but on a computer program or site yeah)
  5. *pokes you and likes you* lol.
  6. well from what i've seen the work place can be quite hectic, especially in the case of say a newspaper... deadlines are short... and much work is usually done at the last minute.... as in a few hours before it goes to press... there have been times that the writing and editing staff has sat up half the night to get something finished in time for the printers... (who also have been known to spend half the night on a job) And certianly more than a school when you are given work and allowed some semblence of time to complete it and complete it well. A boss wants you to hop to get it done five minutes ago and not just done but done in some semblence of quality... however when it comes between the two speed is more important.
  7. I don't think you're going to like what i have to say, but note: you insisted on me reviewing it... so i do with trepidation, One of the chief things a poem is suppose to do is convey an emotion, which yours does. Quite well, you're a very good wordsmith. the feeling of pain and suffering followed by the fact you can never face the tormentor because they have died (or just gone far far away) is palatable. this is good yes. However to me a "Good or great poem has to be firstly Consistant in it's form, this goes without the Rhyming because as i recall there are traditional poetry such as perhaps Hakus that do not rhyme (although they might in Japanese... i don't know) however you should keep the same number of lines in each segment... or do so in say a recognizable pattern..... anyway as it may be, a poem should flow as your reading it or speaking it aloud....yours doesn't... don't be discouraged however.... a lot of young poets (young not in age but experience) make mistakes like this... I did as well. btw if you have trouble with finding rhyming words i have link to a rhyming dictionary you can use...(i use it all the time.) *is sorry if this sounds harsh, i did say i didn't want to Review... and this is why...cuz i am a sour puss who is a stickiler when it comes to poetry... call me the Poetry Nazi *
  8. yeah i never agreed to the deplanetizing Pluto, i found it horrifying and sad... but i suppose you gotta do what you gotta do. After all they have like at least 6 of those, what was it, miniplanets or whatever now, in our solar system. You know what, i hope/wish they'd make a book on both our solar system and all them exoplanets they've found so far... on that isn't college level... ie so that kids would look at them and say oh that's cool or whatever... Or better yet make a computer program were you can visit these systems or something...type issue.
  9. everytime i hear the words "sent mom/dad to the nursing home" i get sad...
  10. i swear i know at least 2 of those older ladies....

    warning

i read it, it's sad. And it's too late to wear purple... He chose to keep his lot in life, he could have chosen to be in such a relationship earlier. it's sad because his wife never knew who he really was, and she died not knowing. More than that neither did he. You are never old enough to wear purple because you always could have done so. There i am done preaching. On a writers level, it's a slow moving story, best read late at night with a cup of tea in hand.

    Chapter 2

interesting continuation of the previous chapter I did enjoy it greatly Although i will add this, I don't think you had to add "such and such point of view" just put a ... break then introduce the other character and his view.... Especially since they're a completely different person and have a different history and view than the first character. It might take a little longer but it's easier then to just switch to that character at a later date. Ever read "The Red Pyramid" by Rick Riorden, that may help give you ideas on changing in first person perspectives.
  13. the bunny problem: Well i think i'd probably shoot it them bunnies are good eating... and who cares if the poor little kitties don't get their eggs The car makes me think of the one i created in A Crimson Frost... but then i was going for the Antique Car look there
  14. There very few new things in my apartment, all my furniture is second hand (well except for one or two things anyway), most my books... at least half of my dishes, an 8th of my movies, the only things i really haven't bought used are my clothes... but then a boy has to be fashionable doesn't he perhaps if i found clothing I "liked" second hand i'd buy it... i just haven't found any.... well there is something you shouldn't buy second hand... underwear
  15. you realize of course to number 2, our parents generation said that about ours.... and I am SURE being the hippy generation theirs definately said it about them.
  16. coffee pots.... furniture, although you have to be careful about that....

  18. if only it wasn't April Fools
  19. my thoughts are that it reminds me of the Face hugger (from the alien series) And as to Shelob, now just think of a world where spiders that size are common To Rustle's webs, when i lived in Central Idaho they had webs that would string across the roads.
  20. my town bought "abandoned buildings" from the previous owners (for taxes etc) Fixed them up and sold them to someone else... now one such building (a Mainstreet building) how has three new businesses in it.. and it started out having a hole in the roof big enough to need a a plastic swimming pool on the bottom floor to keep the leaking water (it's two stories tall ) another one they bought and have been fixing up, it's at least 3 stories tall and is an old historic hotel.... Mind you i don't agree with the Means that they did these buy outs... however i do enjoy the sight of the results of at least one of them... (i haven't been in these new businesses, but that's because ones a mesuise, and the other is a small clinic for a discraced doctor who was nearly forced out of the main clinic in town... (i wish he had been i dislike him... the old pill pushing gerk) (i think there is a third one but i don't remember what it is...). as for the other building, i don't know what's going to end up moving in there, i do know however that they had to tear out a LOT of aspestus, and they wanted to keep as much of the historic interior as possible.
  21. That's not good news that makes me want to cry the whole thing makes me want to cry
  22. what?! Elizabeth Taylor i thought she was dead
  23. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/5-things-always-buy-used-134500411.html I don't know about anyone else, but i've been known to buy used movies and used books. books wise i usually buy from Powell's Online store, or the used book sales that the county library puts on twice a month, and i don't think i've ever been burned. As for movies we don't really have much of a place to buy them... you can get some at the Convenience store here but that's it (they used to sell used vids at a grocery store that is now closed) them i have been burned, all i have to say is keep your reciept because if the thing is scratched and doesn't work you can take it back, you can't otherwise and people have been known to sell used movies here just because it's scratched and doesn't work... not very nice... Anything to add to the list? any stories on things you've bought used?
