This is a twist worthy of a Hitchcock movie.....

In the dictionary, next to the word stupid, is Joey's picture....

There's curious subtlety in all of this... “Ain’t it uncomfortable, like?” Stoker mused, thinking on the kimono and the hair. “An’ that make up, would ‘ave to take bleedin’ ages to put on. I never got women fer that. Like, it looks so painful all that pluckin’, preenin’ an’ wotnot.” ******************* From the previous chapter... “Refugees!” Sinjin beamed, the smile returning in full force. “Have you a guesthouse? My sister Madam Woo has a lovely one…” The Bride paled noticeably, her eyes widening in alarm. “Oh not Madam… Sinjin, not her… please?” “That would be lovely,” Wojciech smiled his gratitude at Sinjin, completely oblivious to the Bride’s desperate expression. Behind Sinjin’s back the Bride was desperately trying to signal NO to Wojciech, a series of frantic hand gestures and widened eyes. Sinjin ignored her, and reached for the telephone. “I will call ahead. You should fetch your Stoker-cun, and make good haste, I think she serves supper soon and you really shouldn’t miss it.” With the boys making haste to the guest house and eating, Sinjin must be a master manipulator to effect the change to his sister so effortlessly...And what power play is Dottie attempting??? Sinjin retrieved the envelope and slid it across. “With them it could be anything. I worry about the increased interest they are taking in all of our lives. Ever noticed that we’ve all become Americans in their eyes?” He glanced at the Bride, a knowing look in his eyes. “No offense.” She looked up from her cards. “Oh I agree with you.” She shook her head, a grim expression on her face. “We Americans try not to hold that you're foreign against you… well at least not for a few more years.” “Every society has its rules,” Wojciech mused as he opened the envelope. “Social contract and … those… things…” He slowed and lost his thoughts as he read. The letter was formal, printed on heavy paper with an official-looking crest. “Stoker and I are cordially invited… a chance to discuss… thoughts on…” He shook his head at the very diplomatically lengthy way of asking them to attend a garden party. “Well that’s nice.” Sinjin was watching him carefully, his smile gone. “Be wary of these sorts of invitations. Dottie rarely does anything with out some kind of ulterior motive, Wojciech-cun.”

From the prologue... Almost before he realised it, Arlo blinked. Eyes blinked open. A heart beat, a chest expanded, lungs breathed. A red and a blue bar appeared over his vision, easily discernible with a glance up. Beside them, numbers floated, 1 and 0… some sort of health bar? “Subject shows little alarm over his situation. I will proceed with my explanation,” the disembodied voice said. “You have been resurrected for a task of some importance. There is a spellbook I require. It belongs to a specific person long thought dead. Circumstances demand that I cannot retrieve the book myself. You will be given a weapon of your choice to aid you; each weapon contains memories of a past self.” “Who are you?” Arlo demanded through strained vocal chords. “Where am I?” A musket flashed into his hands. And with it, everything changed. The red 1 turned to 6, the blue 0 turned to 2. A bag appeared on Arlo’s back, and a book at his hip. Somehow, he knew it was his spellbook — he had chosen a wizard after all. Though how he’d made this choice was unclear. Name: Arlo Silverpaw Race: Catfolk Class: Wizard Subclass: Spellslinger Profession: Bookkeeper “Who I am has no import on your task. Should you fail me, you will die a final death. Be sure that I can make it excruciating. But should you please me with your endeavours, then I will elevate you above all others. Now go.” With a clap, Arlo was gone.

I'd like to axe Killian's driving inspector the date of their last eye exam... From Ch 2 We know the killer is a man/teen/boy/ or any other classification that includes a penis... The killer swung the ax again and again, feeling an intense satisfaction with each sticky, wet thud. Warm blood splattered his face. It would have splashed into his mouth if his lips hadn't been pressed together so firmly. He paused and looked over his handiwork. The body was barely recognizable as human. He hadn't planned to go that far, but it had felt so good he'd just kept chopping. He leaned against the ax as he struggled to catch his breath. His tongue crept out and tentatively licked his lips. A tangy, metallic taste flooded his senses. We can rule out Adam, Steve, any of the police, Kane, Jake, and Judy...sadly...Marco I wonder about Finn, I don't think Asher would have it in him to do something like that...he is more of a coward in confrontations... Caleb, by virtue of his behavior upon release, is speeding to number 1 quickly... With what we know about Micah's background, could he have it in him to do something like that? And don't hate me, folks and avid readers...I'm just speculating. The only problem is figuring out if there was any sort of connection betwixt Micah and the Cohen's...
