Part One. Chapter Seven.
drsawzall commented on Mrsgnomie's story chapter in Part One. Chapter Seven.
Not positive Perry didn't have enough time to "get to know" Max so to speak, I'm thinking there wasn't a spark for Perry...as Perry has his sights set on...and it's gonna take some time to open that someone's eyes...Like sister, like brother???- 89 comments

Amidst all the excitement, another boy is saved and the family grows again...

Glad to see that Steve is becoming a more of a 'fixture' in the family dynamic, that he is accepted or who is he is and the role he will pay...I get the feeling Calvin may/might have a 'come to Jesus' moment with Steve...fingers crossed... Kenny, god bless his soul, is exactly the counterpoint that Bryan needs in his peer group and asa a boyfriend who can call truth to his BS... Diego, you've done gone and poked the bear...while it is understandable, the effort...the amount of effort Calvin is displaying in trying to contact the boys, obviously belabors there is some sort of reward $$$, in doing so. It is so out of character for this misanthrope to expend this much effort if there weren't a reward in it for him, then kicking the boys to the curb once he has what he wants. I have to believe that the boy's mother's family has something of value for the boys, and Calvin will stop at nothing to get it... While the outcome of a legal action can never be ascertained before hand, Calvin's sordid past, demonstrable lack of contact, and child support must work against him...sadly he's a weasel, they type shifty lawyers love, like a shark smelling chum in the water, the value the boys represent will prove irresistible...Diego...Get thee to a qualified attorney ASAP!!! “I don't know yet, and until I find them out, you need to stay as far away as possible. Do you understand what I'm saying?” “Are you threatening me?” “Yep. I'm threatening you with legal action. I will take you to court, again, if I have to.” “Maybe I'll take you to court.” “You can barely pay for the food you ordered, so I doubt you can get a lawyer.” Diego stood up and told Carla to bring over Calvin's bill. “Don't forget to tip your waitress,” he said as he walked back into the kitchen.

A door has been opened and there is no going back...

Many interesting portends in the dreams of Dakota, and I find it very sad and quite disturbing, that parents would throw their children away, and then to go to church as if everything was fine...

Methinks you hit the proverbial nail on the head @Summerabbacat!!! Not sure what news you get of the States in good old Australia, and as I am of a certain age, I can remember quote clearly life back in the 60's. It just may be the musings of a cranky old bastard, but our sense of national purpose, community, and understanding the 'great' issues confronting us have sadly gone the way of the dodo bird... Civility, common sense, and an ability to reason out the significant issues, parsing the words of lying, adulterous, criminally culpable politicians, proves impossible today. We now live in a world of content, without context!!! We've become fat, lazy, and unable to take the effort to discern between wedge issues, and the serious issues that confront a free society today. While there are many headscratchers out there, try this on for size, solar and wind generated power has saved the Texas energy infrastructure during this unprecedented heat wave. Which coincidentally is physically separated from the nationwide grid...Yet in Texas they are making it ever so much more difficult to build more of these energy generating facilities, as the gas and oil industry have bought the the Texas legislature... But I digress, if there is any hope for any of the denizens in this story, it will be by the likes of Aunt Marie and Uncle Steve...

I think @weinerdog hit the proverbial nail on the head, this offering of Geron's is one of his best yet. As much as I love the Charlie Boone, The Doorways, Thrift Shop Nation or the Road series, this was a masterclass in story telling and wordsmithing...and on it's own, it stands as an equal to any of his previous works. And I for one, am waiting impatiently, patiently for the further adventures of Jamie and the gang. Like @Jim Fraser, I look forward to Snave being restored to a human form, one that is uniquely his own...Someone has a whole Lodda time to ponder his fate, an eternity or more...While I would like to say it would drive him insane, we all know better...Is the Alien ship fully destroyed, along with the ring, and the AI Oracle unable to function? I would hate to think the both of them being somehow able to 'find' each other... Well, enough babbling from me, thank you Geron, thank you so very much for the time and effort you put forward to entertain us, your fans!!! Anxiously waiting on your next offering....

Ya think... The road to Perdition is paved with good intentions... “Jealous?” I asked. I was confused. Why would he be jealous of Blake? Roni shook her head sadly and replied, “I think he loves you, Seth.” I asked incredulously, “Are you serious? He can’t love me.” “He does,” she replied. “He told me last night he’s going to break up with Stacy because he doesn’t think he can come around your house anymore.” “Shit,” I muttered. So that is why he broke up with Stacy. Roni asked if he did, and I told her what I heard last night. I told her I was also afraid of what Stacy might do. She became more worried when I told her that Stacy suspected he was seeing another girl. Roni gripped my hand and squeezed it. “Be careful of your sister,” she warned. “She can deal with another girl, but I don’t think she’s going to take it if she finds out he’s gay and messing around with her brother.” “What do you think I’ve been worried about,” I replied. “I knew something like this would happen.” mm

I guess the wild card now is Craig, what will his temper lead to with disastrous consequences. This evil little village is worse than Peyton Place and I see nothing but, a sad confluence of misfits....

Hopefully Arnaud will have a bit more mtime after he sees the painting of St Michael, giving him a bit more time to get his affairs in order...nothing like old friends, wine and stories of good times...this is where precious memories are reinforced and shared!!!

Imminent danger would appear to be over for the moment...but will whatever was after the wisos be back again or others like it... I think it is time for Becket to have a serious conversation to find out what else would like to eat him or the ore wisps...

Not all is as it seems, there is danger and death for the unlucky/unwary...what else awaits Henry and he can't be the only 'earthling' on this planet...is Tomas off recruiting others from other worlds???

I don't think it added to their power so much as it vastly improved on how the electrums and magickons work. I believe with this knowledge Jamie and is cohorts will have the ability and tools necessary to confront both Lodda and the AI oricle From Ch 26 Kundun shook his head. "The only counsel I can give there is that the end of all roads must be earned by the journey. That time will come with your present travels, as well." He nodded, his gaze reassuring. "And I think more suddenly than you know, too. There will come a moment when you simply realize with great surprise that you have arrived at your goal. I only want that moment to end in your favor." Jamie laughed. "As do I." The older mage smiled then. "We have digressed from the matter at hand. I put to you that learning the why of magick is now your principal goal. Discover why magick exists at all, and you may learn the ultimate answer to how to manage it."

I had to come back to this as herein is the nexus as it were...still have to do some rereading in the morning... But here, in the system of this star, a most unique occurrence had come about. This star - their star - inhabited a place in their own universe that was exactly in the same place as a star in one of the many nether universes that occupied the same place, in some other space. And because these two stars shared forces in the same place, a...tunnel?...had been opened between the two universes within the heart of each star, places of such intense energies and fabulously twisting tensions, as to be unimaginable to the mind of someone born of the comparably sedate plains of a mere planet This tunnel allowed magickons to move from a universe of the nether into their own, there to be radiated outward with the powerful and energetic winds their own star exhaled. Jamie's world was bathed in magickons, literally submersed in them. Humans had come to this system totally unaware of this amazing chance occurrence, because magickons were not a thing they knew, or understood, or could measure. The life that had been born of their world before the arrival of humans was raised in this sea of strange forces, but humans did not know them. So magickons had come to know them, and had changed them over time into a form of life that could interact with both universes, and so had come to harness a new power born of another reality altogether. Magick.
