Because his mother was a bitch from hell and never did anything he told her. The whole house expected that they would have to evict her to get her to leave. If it had been me, I would have been prepared for one last onslaught to try to get me to change my mind. He did back down on paying the debt for her after all. Instead she got marinated in vodka and drove off in a huff. I think he genuinely was surprised. Hey I wrote this and the bitch left me reeling as well. My mam was nothing like that.

Once established, the years were good to Kaylock and it became a leading name in the business world. It didn’t matter which Kaylock was at the head of the business, it was known to be led by ‘The Marquis’, and that meant fairness in all things. Over the past few years the Marquis has been out of sight where the business world was concerned. Most recently the cause has been the death of the last Marquis when his five-year-old son became the Marquis. * * * * * * * * * * “Look mother I don’

This so far has only been setting the scene and getting to know the Marquis... This last chapter was trying to tie the loose ends together so that we can see how we leave Myles. Now we move forward to a descendant of Myles in the modern day, a boy called Conan... hopefully the story will develop with a few twists along the way.

Myles withdrew into himself as did Lizzy, but whereas Lizzy seemed to rally quickly Myles never overcame the death of the first person that loved him. Aunt Betty insisted that Lizzy and Myles move back to the house. Myles was physically in pain having to just face life every day, never mind managing the estate. It wasn’t that he didn’t know how as he had studied the books of the estate over the years and knew how to run everything, even its farms. Well he knew that there were farmers employed to

I love the story ... Well I love the twins, maybe I have a thing for the whole twin thing. As for getting married in Wales? I'm a Yorkshire man through and through and given the chance I'd choose Wales over anywhere else. There are some stunning places there; plus the place was neutral to the two and it represented escaping. Loved it. Maybe they could have gotten married in Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch. 😁 (Yes that is an actual Welsh town.)

Troubled kids, who'd have 'em? Well I have 4 and wouldn't change a thing. The thing with kids is that they are a blessing and a curse and you have to act equally to both. I will never understand how a father can allow kids to end up on the street though, it would kill me if it had been one of mine. The new guy seems to have been involved with the wrong group trying to fit in and doing the wring things as a result. I just hope that he can prove himself before he is carted off.

Amazing chapter ... Oh to have a policeman happy to serve your every need... I love a man in uniform me, even if like Julian he was out of uniform. Oh wait, that would be better! these kids are the lucky ones. I also think Hunter and Nathan should get together. hunter deserves to be happy personally.

Oh, I have a feeling that things may get worse, before they get better... but they will get better. In the those days it was like that you faced death in the face every time you went down the mine and then in your normal life you faced death with the war. I often wonder how my grandparents get through it to be such wonderful people that they were.

As promised the car arrived at eleven and the housekeeper took over in the factory while mother and the Marquis drove off to the bank. As soon as the car had gone the housekeeper went into action. “Now ladies I am Mrs. Gladstone, housekeeper for Lord Vimbaston. I’m here to tell you that you are no longer required. This place is closing down.” Suddenly there was a clapping noise coming from the entrance to the kitchen. “Gladstone, why am I not surprised? Grandfather has proved me right in eve

My family came from the mines and at this time, I agree most were down there and living and breathing the coal and the muck. That is also the exact reason that many of Billy's generation got out. With the birth of railways and other large employers option became possible that weren't there before. Many a miner, just like my granddad escaped the mines to work in places like the railway. During WW1 the idea of reserved occupation or as it was known at the time the 'Sheduled Occupation' was born. This though was new and not strictly in place until WW2 when lessons had been learned and places like the mines and farms had been left with too few to work them during the first war. In order to be exempt at the time your employer had to sign to prove that you were needed and could not serve. Billy was told that he couldn't sign up because of his height, his mates did escape the mines leaving Billy and few others to work them alone.

That was it, Tommy and Myles were inseparable from that moment, they went to school together and shared everything. Myles even tutored the younger lads as he had been tutored privately in London and was advanced compared to those in Tommy’s school. Tommy looked at his friend months later, “Myles how come you ain’t like that nasty old git you call a granddad and your mam?” “Easy, they were always at parties and their clubs. I was raised by Nanny Whitmore and she were lass from Wath-upon-Dearn

Afraid you will have to wait until the next chapter when we find out exactly who raised the Myles and why he is like he is.

Absolutely awesome chapter ... Has that been said already? What can I say? I loved the way that the story is developing especially with the addition of the two women, that should be interesting. I love how Noah is treating Giles and Carter like his brothers. It will be interesting to see how they interact with the clients. I agree with Travlbug, when is the storm going to happen and just what will it do to our guys? Oh and Quokka, I now have a story on the site.

Out of hate, turmoil and confusion is born a will to succeed, a will to conquer. Having been torn down, time and time again one eventually gets to the point where they give up. Then the only way is up. Myles was at the point of giving up all hope when his life was changed by a single good deed and the love of a man that he had once helped. Little did he know that he would become the patriarch of a new dynasty. Little did Myles know that he would be the patriarch of the Kaylock Family empire

Totally in love with these guys, but the one that stole my heart is Giles and how he cares for his little brother. I can see him becoming a force of nature, a force that will drive the other kids to do greater things as the time goes by... Would it be too soon to be thinking that Hunter maybe heading to have two adopted sons?

No one has ever been jealous of me, so that would be new... But if I ever get enough courage to ever post the stories I've written on this site and then maybe we can bounce off each other. I am on Storylover as ukwriter12

I'm somehow looking forward to seeing Greg and Julian throwing some welly around to protect the project. I just have a feeling that they are there almost by divine plan to help. With the storm starting like it has, I somehow feel that the numbers of clients is going to raise as they discover a kid that has slipped under the radar and is in desperate need of their help. Totally in love with the story.

Stunning ... loving the story and really looking forward to the effect the surprise will have on the parents.

I love Russian history. Shame the woman couldn't have been Anastasia the princess that they think lived... Devon needs to listen to his feelings more as he knew something was wrong. Loving the story.

Please sir ... I want more! I totally have fallen for Kieran, maybe not so much Aidan (there is just something about him??) ... Loving the story, please post more.

I'd rather be an Egyptian in the old days and make a Pharaoh Moan! 😎
