  1. That's a good basic recipe. Chocolate chip cookies will be minus a slightly richer flavor and color that brown sugar provides.
  2. They're pretty.
  3. There will be another, but not for a while, maybe in 9-12 months. Thistle was exceptional and the next isn't going to be him. It wouldn't be fair to a pup right now. The tendency to compare, while unintentional would still exist.
  4. Does he have a favorite ... please, not the gingerbread men.
  5. Mum and I did some baking. We made two kinds of cookies, sour cream cookies and M&M cookies. Those are favorites with my kids so we'll pack 4 dozen of each and ship them north. Plan to do more baking tomorrow.
  6. Who's Walnuts and when did you start baking together?
  7. They look tasty. Mum and I haven't started our baking yet. Hopefully today. She doesn't seem to have the energy, says she wakes up as tired as when she went to sleep. I worry, she's 86. I know she misses Thistle too. I'm very glad she had come north this fall for a visit. It allowed her to spend time with him.
  8. Thank you both. In time the hurt will lessen. I hung his Christmas stocking. The Monday before he passed we stopped at the pet store to buy food and they we're stocking the Christmas themed toys. Mum bought him a new stuffed penguin toy. I'll put it in the stocking. Like most of his other things I'll pack it away for the new pup. Mum's cousin sent a photo of he and I together that she took when we visited together the week before. I want to have it printed to frame and give to mum at Christmas. I'll print a copy for myself too.
  9. I'm well enough thank you. Struggling a bit with migraine and depression, I'm missing my little guy. It's difficult because he was so intertwined in my life. There nothing I do that he wasn't part of so there's an empty hole where he should be. Also, mum just doesn't have the energy to do the things we've done together in the past. Wierd as it may sound what I would really like is to take a walk in the snow. Not likely since we're forecast to see above normal temps for the next few days.
  10. Mum and I went out for a late lunch--I had a black forest panini, house salad and pommes frites, mum had a chicken cordon bleu crepe--so we're skipping dinner.
  11. Does he typically decline when you offer leftovers ... I doubt there will be any ... that does however, remind me that there are two slices of pepperoni & fungus in the fridge.
  12. We had the last of the leftovers for dinner, well mostly, there are two quarts of turkey barley soup I made yesterday in the freezer for later this winter.
  13. Does that mean you went naked and dripping to the breaker box ...
  14. It's a little cool for this time of year but bright and sunny. I finished the outdoor Christmas decorations this morning. I had planned to do that yesterday but a migraine put paid to that plan. Also put the crystal icicle decorations on the Christmas tree in my room, mum decorates the big one downstairs.
  15. Really? How do you know? I don't think @Valkyrie or @Page Scrawler would agree 'cause it's got little green spheres.

It was rough watching PSU lose, particularly since those 4 missed kicking pts would have made the difference. I think field conditions were more problematic for the kickers. I was pleased to see Michigan win, the drawback being it knocks the Big 10 out of championship contention. Rugby's worldwide appeal makes it a natural fit for a dual nationality couple. Also, it's less high profile, yeah go ahead and laugh, CJ is nothing but high profile despite his best efforts. I'm glad to see you went this direction.

Hmmm, Calum and Linc, some sort of relationship, whether sexual or not, might be good for them. If nothing else it would provide a safe partner for both. I foresee rugby playing a future role. One of the profs at my college was from NZ and started an intramural group that played on the quad outside my dorm. Like CJ, I thoroughly enjoyed watching those guys get wet and muddy. It's really no surprise Owen would want to provide the benefits they have with Lupe. The guys are generous and I see her becoming a surrogate sister for Leibe. Five days ... I'm feelin' withdrawl symptoms after overindulging.

Not a chance, he'll likely just be sneakier, or at least attempt to be, about what asshattery he gets up to.

But I like Brooks Brothers and Jos. A. Banks and he's a bearded ginger ... dumb ass's gonna give preppy gingers a bad name. Go Madame Ambassador. Good to see Linc again. Part of me wishes I wasn't cognizant that bad things await because I'm thoroughly enjoying the easy lead in and happy domesticity. More please.
  22. I expect nothing less of you. I think you'll be a great dad.
  23. Wow! You found him just waiting there soaking in the tub. How serendipitous for you what with needing someone to wash your back.

I love the thoroughness of your speculation. We have the benefit of knowledge of CJ's future. The in depth digging on Yevgeny's part suggests a longterm interest. CJ's connections, wealth and intelligence mark him as a political up and comer. Any operative worth his salt would want to cultivate a relationship. Yevgeny could very well become CJ's Putin.
  25. I think it wonderful that you and Morgan are supportive of Max's interest in dance. Too many dads would not be.
