    Late Spring

While a walk on the southern beach is lovely I miss the northern woods. Thank you for taking me there.

    Words of Prey

You've done a masterful job with this prompt. It got my own brain churning at the hows and whys of this dystopia but most importantly it reminds of how beautiful life becomes when we find one to complete us.
  6. He's likely planning to use a folding lawn chair ...
  7. Mum and I had shrimp salad over romaine lettuce and chopped tomato. It was hard work I had to clean and cut up the tomato. Thistle and I bought the shrimp salad from a local foodtruck we patronize, the romaine lettuce came in a bag.
  8. Greetings Albert. I am well enough thank you as I hope are you and Steve.
  9. Thistle seems improved from yesterday. This morning he rolled onto his back for tummy rubs, hopped off the bed on his own and chose to go down the steps rather than be carried. After eating his breakfast he hopped up to his spot on the loveseat where he's been resting comfortably.
  10. Mum and I went out to eat. I had a chopped sirlion steak, aka hamburger steak, smothered in sauteed mushrooms and onion, a baked potato and salad. Mum had shrimp and grits.
  11. Robby Steinhardt has died.
  12. Thank you. He's still hurting this morning, when he tucked his rump to do his business there were groans and whimpers. He manages the single step in and out of the house with a slow gentle step rather than his usual hop and wants lifted up to sit with me in the recliner. Where he is able to rest quietly. Massaging gently along his spine does not cause any flinching or whimpers indicating pain. I can't feel anything out of joint. He isn't limping or favoring a leg so I don't think it's an injury to his weak knee. I'll continue pain meds and rest. I'm holding off on a vet visit as we're due to leave for PA next Wed. and I'd prefer to wait for our vet. He's sleeping now.
  13. While this fire is enormous it currently ranks fourth in overall size and second in forest fires in Oregon's history. It's burning in a sparsely populated area, no one has died, property loss has been low. It's current spread is into even less populated areas consisting primarily of ranches and secluded forest. Were this fire to be in more densely peopled California the situation would be dire. Locale matters greatly. From what I read this morning. Fires of this nature typically burn until autumn rains put them out.
  14. Page! Hi! Thistle isn't quite 100%. He tweaked his back yesterday. Fortunately we have some meds for pain and an anti-inflammatory and they are helping him be more comfortable.
  15. The NHL has it's first active out gay player, Luke Prokop of the Nashville Predators.
  16. And scratches behind the ear and tummy rubs ... uhm, sorry ... I got him mixed-up with the other cute fella who cuddles with me.
  17. It is indeed. It's also kinda warm and muggy outside.
  18. Same with mum.
  19. So does mum.
  20. Remember to charge the 10% shipping and handling.
  21. She charged you $100 for a piece of her birthday cake? Why didn't I think of doing that?

    Pastorale

I would so like to see Rick look at his father and say "I'm just an employee and I can quit." That might set the old man back on his heels.
