While it seems cruel and unnecessary and in civilian life would be unacceptable, in context that behavior serves a purpose. There is nothing in basic training that is kind and gentle. It's designed to break recruits down and build them back up.

I feel somewhat guilty with our wet, miserable and soggy 41/5°. It has rained so much that there are puddles of standing water in almost all the neighborhood lawns.

My understanding is that each of the local hospitals here could give first does vaccinations to 5,000 each week but are only receiving enough vaccine to innoculate 1,000 folks. The one facility currently has a backlog of 20,000 requests.

It's raining. It's been raining. There are sloppy puddles everywhere, on the sidewalks, in the lawns. It's supposed to continue raining intermittently until next Friday. Thistle's ground clearance is 5-6 inches, he can't walk outside with out getting a wet belly and legs. It's a chilly 38/3° and he just had a bath yesterday before it started raining. Oh, and my head aches. Blessed be y'all.

Sleep well ... I remember when I was a kid the tv would switch to a test pattern or "snow" when the programming end for the day. This "Video unavailable" is reminiscent of that.
