Wait a minute! Just how big was the next table over? Your herd wouldn't fit 'round a table with fewer than 50 sits or was there just a group of hot guys sitting there that you decided to kidnap ... er, uhm ... assimilate. Yeah that's the word.

G'day y'all. It was warmer here at 4:30am than the high temp. most of the days in the two weeks before we left PA. It's also far more humid. Mum told me the current ocean temp is 75/24°. Since the ocean is just 5 miles away it has a moderating effect on the local weather. Also, we are a month earlier getting here this year. We usually only arrive mid-November. Thistle is going to doggy camp this morning. He hasn't been there for 3 months.

We made it safely to mum's, arrived before 11:00. We've unpacked the multitude of foodstuffs I've brought with me. The pup and I've had a bit of a doze though I'm more tired now than before the nap. It's warm, 75/24° and very humid. Very unlike the weather we've recently had back home.

You've told us so much with this chapter and yet provided so little information. Bravo.

I certainly hope you've not been neglecting the herd while you've been busy with these other things. That tantalizing smell drifting on the air probably whet their appetites, I hope it was a large batch of chili.

Did you seek out the new treatment in the hopes of feeling poorly or is that just a bonus side effect?

Living each day is an accomplishment. Being able to be outdoors for a walk in the woods is an added bonus. I think you did well.

Have you considered running over the vines with your lawn mower to chop them up a bit before tossing them into the compost? I do that, just spread them out on the lawn and mow, also use it to chop fallen leaves. The combination of the grass clippings in with the vines and leaves makes for a better composting. The excess nitrogen in the grass helps breakdown the carbon in the leaves and such.

We arrived at our hotel in NC about 7pm. We got off to a later start than I'd planned only because it took longer pack the frozen items in the cooler, wash and dry the last few dishes, finish the laundry, etc. The weather was lovely so we stopped at Point of Rocks, MD where the road crosses the Potomac into VA. There is an access point to the C&O Canal trail and also a boat launch. We had no boat to launch but we did spend about 45 minutes walking along the trail. We met and were passed by about a dozen different bicyclists. One group of five guys had camping gear packed on the bikes. I presume they were biking the complete trail. We took time for a brief lunch of an apple, a small package of smoked sausage bites and a trail bar with cold water. Thistle decided he didn't want apple, unusual because he likes them, in preference for the sausage and water. He would have gladly shared in the trail bar but it contained chocolate. It was a pleasant break. Very glad we took the time to do it. It's near enough home I think I'd like to take a day trip there to walk/hike next summer or fall. Needless to say we were tired when we got here. Fortunately I had the foresight to buy a premade chicken ceasar salad at my grocers this morning to avoid the need to go out looking for sustance so was able to relax and eat in the room. Now for a good night's sleep.

G'day y'all. The day will dawn bright and clear and the forecast is for good weather all along today's route. We're off for our morning walk and then to do final prep before packing and heading out. I don't expect to be back before we reach today's destination. Blessed be y'all.

G'day y'all. Another damp chilly morning. We'll skip our morning walk the forecast is for clearing later so perhaps a shortened late day walk before dinner. I have a brief errand to run this morning before I begin the last of the organizing. I have some laundry to do though my bedding will wait until tomorrow morning. It can run while we walk. I can't help thinking of the old adage ... "cutting off your nose to spite your face" ... I think Boone is making a mistake. It's no wonder Coy thinks he should go back to that "useless" bit of ground, it's all he's got left of his family now that Boone's cut the legs out from under him and for Coy family mattered. Boone says he wants the love of another man but he already has that in Coy. What he truly wants is a sexual relationship with another man. There is a distinct difference. Each can exist without the other and often do. I wonder if the reason Coy broke Boone's nose is he didn't want to feel what he did after their kiss. He wouldn't be the first young man to live the life expected of him rather than the life his heart desired. I understand Boone is ready to take steps to live the life he wants on a piece of ground of his choosing. He deserves that and Coy seems willing to follow. I think what Coy disliked about farming was the hardscrabble existence that farming became after his pa and brothers died. It was a lot of effort for little reward. Their experience panning seems much the same and neither young man found it rewarding. It seems Will had them bound to a life neither truly wanted. Now free of him they can choose for themselves and it seems that means Larkspur and it's verdant environs. Perhaps both will be surprised at what it is they want.

G'day y'all. The day is chill and wet. No morning walk, likely no walk at all since the rain is expected to continue through until tomorrow morning. Actually I'm glad for the rain. We're running a deficit and much of PA is in a drought so the potential 2" will be a benefit. Then too being indoors will force me to get serious about packing and cleaning. I, well really we leave in a little over 48 hours so it's time.
